    The Michael Scott Podcast Company

MSPC is a podcast about TV and movies and also The Office but mostly about friendship. Every week, hosts & longtime pals Sean Roney, Edwin Janes, and Alex Ward hang out and discuss stuff they’re watching or thinking about, whether it’s the hot new show coming out, old movies they hadn’t seen before, new movies they’re excited about, or what brought them together in the first place – The Office. If comfort food was a podcast, this is it.

136: Proposals on The Office Nov 11, 2021
    Show notes

Pam: "So we just… we wanna help you plan the proposal so that it’s safe and responsible and realistic and doable."

Michael: "I had a great idea until you ruined it."

Oscar: "Wanna know how to do it? Here’s how you do it. Take her out to dinner. Go down on one knee. If you are in costume, you did something wrong. If at any point you find yourself tying a ring to a dogs collar, stop, and look at yourself."

With Alex's wedding just around the corner, we’re looking at proposals in The Office. We talk about all of them, from Jim and Pam meeting halfway at a gas station, to Michael’s disastrous proposal at Diwali, to Dwight yelling at Angela through a megaphone. Then in the Conference Room we hear Alex and Sean’s proposals before closing with a signature round of trivia!

    134: Spooked Oct 28, 2021
    Show notes

"I just got a text from Broccoli Rob – “Boo!” Scared me. And then I got this text from Robert California – “Looking forward to Halloween party. Expectations are high.” Scared the s**t out of me."

Put on the Miami Heat jersey, set the fog machine to medium, and tell the man in black we say hello—this episode is all aboutt ’Spooked’ from Season 8! With Halloween just a few short days away, we go into this haunted episode, talking about the storylines between Andy and Erin, how Pam believes in ghosts, and the best moments from the costume party. And of course we highlight all of the grown up parties, multiple Kate Middletons, and cinema of the unsettling along the way. Then in the Conference Room we talk about Office costumes sent to us and announce the launching of our new merch store (!) before closing with a Halloween version of our Ordinary Things segment.

Why is it such a shock that we follow the royal story? Warms my heart, thinking about them two kids…doing it.

    133: Did I Stutter? Oct 22, 2021
    Show notes

"It’s like I used to tell my wife, I do not apologize unless I think I’m wrong, and if you don’t like it you can leave. And I say the same thing to my current wife, and I’ll say it to my next one too."

Put on your backup glasses and break out the fluffy fingers, this week is about ‘Did I Stutter?’ from Season 4! We break down the clash of the titans, where in one corner you have Michael, and he is mad. And then in the other corner, you have Stanley, and he’s mad. Kevin says that’s about it, but we know there’s more, so we discuss all of the Mad Libs, wet cement, and outgoing voice messages with zing and pep that make up this episode. Then we head to the conference room where we give some recommendations about the music, TV, and podcasts we’ve been watching and listening to.

    132: Toby Oct 14, 2021
    Show notes

"Well, I was in the Seminary for a year and dropped out ’cause I wanted to have sex with this girl, Cathy. Followed her to Scranton. Took the first job I could find in H.R. Later she divorced me. So no, I wouldn’t say I have a passion for H.R."

We’ll let you in on a little secret: we’ve been very much looking forward to this episode. Very, very much. We have been steeped in anticipation. Toby has been cruisin’ for a bruisin’ for twelve years, and we are now his cruise director, and our name is Captain Bruisin’. This week is all about everything that is wrong with the paper industry, Toby Flenderson! We go through his role and character arc, highlighting all of the trips to Costa Rica, Chad Flendermen novels, and caprese salads that make up his time on the show. Then in the Conference Room we discuss the new ‘Office Experience’ in Chicago as well as some Office Halloween ideas before wrapping up with a signature round of trivia.

We tried. We tried to talk to Toby and be his friend, but that is like trying to be friends with an evil snail.

    131: Grab Bag + Nate (again) Oct 07, 2021
    Show notes

"Also, FYI, ah, I don’t technically have a hearing problem, but sometimes when there’s a lot of noises occurring uh at the same time, I’ll hear ’em as one big jumble. Uh, again it’s not that I can’t hear, uh because that’s false. I can. Um, I just can’t distinguish between everything I’m hearing."

No, you don’t have a hearing problem, we’re replaying the audio from our Nate discussion! But before we do, Alex and Edwin check in to talk about life, weddings, refrigerators and anything else going on in their lives. And then we well as go through some voicemails and emails from our incredible listeners where we talk about Office characters singing karaoke, underrated show moments, and a lot more.

    Peace, love, and paper,

Michael: “Here’s my wish. I want you to meet a great guy, and I want you to be happy.”

    Holly: “Thank you.”

Michael: “My wish has come true, incidentally, because you’ve met me, and you are happy.”

    Darryl: “Clever, Mike.”

We start by checking in with Edwin before looking at Holly’s emotional move and in-car breakup with Michael, all while Darryl is driving. 129: Drafting a Fantasy Office Sep 23, 2021
    Show notes

    Jim: Ah, hey.

    Pam: Oh my God.

    Jim: Hi.

    Pam: Hi.

Jim: Sorry, I forgot Kevin’s extension. It’s a fantasy football thing.

This week we dedicate the entire episodes to a listener-submitted draft concept where we each build our own fantasy office. We must fill 11(!) roles with different characters from the show, but the inspiration and purpose of that office staff is up to each host. They say no man is an island. False! We are an island and this island is volcanic. And it is about to erupt, with the molten hot lava of strategy.

128: The Vance Refrigeration Guys + Listener Voicemails Sep 16, 2021
    Show notes

“Hey, you want to see a really messed up show? Follow us around, come to our office!"

With just Alex and Edwin holding it down this week, we decided to focus on two of the most minor characters on the show, Gino and Leo from Vance Refrigeration. We go through all of their brief yet memorable moments in the show from just a handful of episodes. And of course we discuss all of the caprese salad drug deals, deleted scenes moments, and teddy bear deliveries that make up their time on the show.

Then we take a round of voicemail questions from listeners, covering things like Office-themed classroom ideas, alternate jobs for Dunder Mifflin staffers, moments or episodes we’d want to be a part of, and one of Alex’s best all-time drops.

If you’re ready to save money on your Doordash orders, DoorDash is offering a FREE MONTH for DashPass right now!
