The UAP Report: Leaked Details and Analysis | MHP 06.07.21. Jun 08, 2021

Show notes

According to a recent bombshell New York Times article, the United States military has found "no evidence that aerial phenomena witnessed by Navy pilots in recent years are alien spacecraft," but adds that the Department of Defense "still cannot explain the unusual movements that have mystified scientists and the military," nor can it rule out the possibility that some unidentified aerial phenomena witnessed by members of the military might even be "alien spacecraft."

This week on The Micah Hanks Program, we provide a complete breakdown of the NYT's surprise report on the efforts of the Navy's UAP Task Force, which gave us the clearest picture yet of what the forthcoming report will entail. We examine what details have been leaked, what they mean, and the variety of reactions to the new information from members of the military, as well as scientists who appear to remain skeptical about the Pentagon's UFO studies.

Sasquatch: Science and the Apes Among Us | MHP 06.01.21. Jun 02, 2021

Show notes

For many decades, stories about large apelike creatures in the remote forested regions of America have persisted. Commonly known as Sasquatch or Bigfoot, many would rule out the possibility that a creature so large and similar to humans could have evaded detection by humans, let alone exist in the modern world at all.

Is this prospect really so unlikely? While many are very accepting of the notion that UFOs exist and represent a credible pursuit for science, Sasquatch is far more often relegated to myth and folklore by academics. Joining us to discuss the necessity for the pursuit of Sasquatch and the application of science to the mystery is researcher Matt Pruitt, a member of the North American Wood Ape Conservancy. Matt joins us to present the case for the serious study of Sasquatch on this week's edition of The Micah Hanks Program.

UAP in the USA: Presidents on Record and UFO Culture | MHP 05.24.21. May 25, 2021

Show notes

"What is true, and I'm actually being serious here, is that there are, there's footage and records of objects in the skies, that we don't know exactly what they are." These were the words of former U.S. President Barack Obama recently, when asked about UAP during an appearance on The Late Late Show. "We can't explain how they moved, their trajectory," he added. "They did not have an easily explainable pattern. And so, you know, I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is."

Joining us to discuss this, and much more in the broader culture of UFOs this week is podcaster Ryan Sprague, host of Somewhere in the Skies, who joins us to weigh in on UFO culture and much more on this week's edition of The Micah Hanks Program.

UAP: 60 Minutes, Leaked Footage and Media Analysis | MHP 05.15.21. May 18, 2021

Show notes

Since its first airing in 1968, 60 Minutes has been a television news magazine broadcast that looks at many of the most pertinent issues happening in the world. However, on Sunday it made history with the airing of a special segment that looked at one of the most perplexing mysteries of modern time: unidentified aerial phenomena.

"I'm not telling you that it doesn't sound wacky. What I'm telling you, it's real," said former Special Agent Luis Elizondo during the broadcast, when asked about UAP, more commonly known as UFOs. "What is it? What are its intentions? What are its capabilities?" This week, we analyze the recent media coverage of the UAP topic, as well as the leak of new footage involving a US Navy incident and the Pentagon's confirmation of the video's authenticity. We are also joined by blogger Jazz Shaw, who joins us to discuss the UFO-related events of recent days, and much more on The Micah Hanks Program.

Evaluation: The Pentagon's UAP Problem | MHP 05.10.21. May 11, 2021

Show notes

In recent days, the Department of Defense Office of the Inspector General has announced the launch of a formal evaluation into The Pentagon and its actions regarding "Unidentified Aerial Phenomena" or UAP. "We may revise the objective as the evaluation proceeds, and we will consider suggestions from management for additional or revised objectives," the memorandum states.

Joining us to discuss this is Tim McMillan, who along with MJ Banias broke the story at The Debrief, a news site co-founded by Micah with this pair of UFO reporters. We discuss the Pentagon's UAP Problem, the significance of its forthcoming evaluation, and much more in the ongoing saga of the U.S. government's studies of UFOs this week on The Micah Hanks Program.

Stalking the Herd: Cattle Mutilation and UFOs in the San Luis Valley | MHP 05.03.21. May 04, 2021

Show notes

In September 1967, a 3-year-old Appaloosa named Snippy was found dead in the San Luis Valley. Although the incident involved a horse, it would mark the beginning of the cattle mutilation mystery that has endured for almost 50 years; but are all such incidents easily explained as natural deaths and the result of animal predation?

Joining us is Christopher O'Brien, author of books that include The Mysterious Valley and Stalking the Herd, who discusses cattle mutilations, his San Luis Valley UFO Project, and much more this week on The Micah Hanks Program.

UFOs and the Deep State | MHP 04.26.21. Apr 27, 2021

Show notes

What is the "Deep State," and does an unelected, bureaucratic element exist in government that has actively worked to suppress information collected about UFOs?

Joining us this week to discuss this is Kevin Randle, author of more than 120 books, including his latest offering, UFOs and the Deep State: A History of the Military and Shadow Government's War Against the Truth. Randle, one of the most prolific authors alive to have examined the famous purported UFO incident at Roswell, New Mexico, joins us to discuss the history of the government's collection of UFO data, and why he thinks there is evidence that a Deep State element has been controlling the management of the UFO issue since World War II. Randle discusses this, and much more this week on The Micah Hanks Program.

UFOs: The National Intelligence Problem | MHP 04.19.21. Apr 20, 2021

Show notes

In the early 1950s, the Office of Scientific Intelligence at the CIA almost recommended that the UFO issue be elevated to the National Security Council and be tasked as an Intelligence Priority. However, the effort was aborted with the convening of the CIA-sponsored Robertson Panel in 1952… but why?

Joining us to discuss this is Larry Hancock, a graduate of the University of New Mexico who earned his BA with honors, majoring in history, cultural anthropology, and education. Following service in the United States Air Force, his career in computer/communications and technology marketing allowed him the opportunity to become involved in and consult on strategic analysis and planning studies. Larry is now a member of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU), and author of the book Unidentified: The National Intelligence Problem of UFOs.

"Following the collection of tens of thousands of sightings, investigation, and vetting of a core of truly anomalous unknown object reports, extensive statistical analysis, and physical science analysis," Hancock says, "we are left with the simple likelihood that in a number of instances experienced and credible observers have indeed observed something very real. Real aerial devices which demonstrate capabilities (especially in the areas of propulsion, acceleration, and maneuvering) that are totally beyond existing technology." We discuss the implications of Hancock's extensive review of UFO data and documents on this week's edition of The Micah Hanks Program.

Drones and Destroyers: Military UAP Encounters | MHP 04.12.21. Apr 13, 2021

Show notes

In the summer of 2019, several incidents occurred off the southern California coast involving Navy destroyers that were approached repeatedly by unusual, triangular-shaped drones which hovered over the ships. Recent investigations by a number of researchers have revealed new details about the incidents, and what the government response to them had been at the time.

This week, in addition to the unfolding story of the ongoing U.S. Navy incidents involving UAP, we examine other stories in the news this week that include newly leaked UFO photos and much more.

Satellite Anomalies: UFOs and Space Archaeology | MHP 04.06.21. Apr 07, 2021

Show notes

In 1965, astronauts with the Gemini IV mission orbiting Earth spotted something unusual in one of the planet's hottest and most arid regions. The mysterious "Eye of the Sahara" is but one of many anomalies that have been spotted on Earth from space, and in recent decades, satellites have brought the general public into the search for such curiosities.

However, if archaeological mysteries and other anomalous features on Earth can be detected with satellites, can these technologies also aid in the search for UFOs? In our discussion of satellite anomalies on this week's edition of The Micah Hanks Program, we look at how space probes in orbit around the Moon and Mars may also help us in the search for evidence of life on other worlds, and possibly even novel forms of life here on Earth.
