Old Charter Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has a large number “8” on the front of the bottle despite no longer carrying an eight year old age statement. Vacation, all I ever wanted! @professorkix annual family trip to Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina was filled with good times and bourbon hunting. A quick trip to the Boundary Bottle Company yielded a very unexpected find: Paul Sutton Single Barrel Bourbon selected exclusively for the members at Palmetto Bluff. This 6 year old bottled-in-bond bourbon was distilled, aged, and bottled in Danville, Kentucky. Prior to seeing this one in the shelf, the fellas had never heard of it. You’ll have to listen this week as we taste this single barrel pick and discuss the history behind Paul Sutton Bourbon. This is a bottle/brand that we definitely think you should be on the lookout for in the future!

In the bourbon industry, you won’t find a place with more fanfare and buzz than the world famous Stitzel-Weller distillery in Shively, Kentucky. Once home to brands like Pappy Van Winkle, Old Fitzgerald, Rebel Yell, Cabin Still, and Old Weller, the site now is now owned by Diageo and home to the Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Experience. A few years ago, Diageo released Blade and Bow Bourbon which is said to contain the remnants of original Stitzel distillate mixed with younger whiskies made possible by their unique solera aging process. E069 - OKI Reserve Blended Bourbon Whiskey Jul 01, 2022

Remember when O.K.I. went from being a shelfer to one of the most revered MGP sourced whiskies in the bourbon industry? New Riff Distilling was the original proprietor of the O.K.I brand, but they phased it out when their own distillate came of age. In 2020, Ohio based entrepreneurs Jake Warm and Chad Brizendine acquired the brand, started releasing single barrel MGP sourced bourbon, and the excitement surrounding O.K.I. quickly returned. For this week, we sip and review their very first mainstream release known as O.K.I. Reserve Blended Bourbon Whiskey. We’ve dubbed this MGP sourced whiskey as the “kitchen sink” since the blend contains 5 of its most popular mashbills from the factory in Indiana. Tune in this week to hear a lively discussion about our recent travel experiences and to see what we think about this whiskey and the reintroduction of a beloved brand.
