    Show notes

Themes: Self-Worth, Anxiety, Self-Esteem, Emotions, Boundaries Summary: In 2015, having worked in the world of TV for eight years, Sophie Dear was signed off work due to anxiety and insomnia. Feeling pretty broken, she retrained as a yoga teacher and started a journey of inner work. Then, very suddenly at the end of 2019, Sophie's 10 year relationship and marriage broke down. She jumped on a plane to Bali in March 2020 with a plan to work out what she truly wanted. After stumbling across my work on Instagram, she took my Become a Boundaries Badass and Crushing Codependency courses, both of which had a huge impact on her relationships and self-worth. Sophie now works as a self-worth empowerment coach and is very much enjoying her best life. As she explains in this episode, re-discovering her self-worth has been her biggest journey and I'm honored to have played a part in it! #227: Embracing Truth — Solo Episode Aug 22, 2022
    Show notes

Themes: Overcoming Fear, Speaking Your Truth, Authenticity, Alignment, Integrity Summary: So often, we allow the human in us - the part that has fears and limiting beliefs - talk us out of what feels right on a soul level. We talk ourselves out of taking courageous action, starting something new, laying a boundary, having a conversation, moving in a new direction… because stepping into the unknown is scary AF. It’s much easier (and more comfortable) to stay in the spaces, cycles and patterns that are already working and familiar. But the reality is this: when we know we can become more and we don’t answer the call, the pain of misalignment will eventually catch up. Which brings me to where I am today: realizing I have not been fully liberated and in integrity on @createthelove for some time. I’ve been holding back my full expression on social media, afraid of how I might be received — but I realize that in doing so, I don’t get to be all of me and you don’t get to know all of me. I came here to speak what is true for me, and be committed to building bridges. But one cannot build bridges when ones does not have a bridge between the parts of themselves they are afraid of expressing. So here I am: expressing. Join me for this special solo episode as I dive deeper into what has sparked this evolution and what to expect from me going forward as I step into a more aligned, more expressed, and more liberated version of myself. Thank you for being on this journey with me! Discover: Why committing to telling the truth changes everything An intimate letter to you, my community, on how my platform is evolving My thoughts on cancel culture, nuance and discussion How to step into a space of curiosity when you disagree with someone’s beliefs 00:00 Intro 01:31 Fearing the unknown 03:37 Don’t listen to the human in you 06:20 Let the truth that lives within you also live outside of you 09:12 Committing to telling the truth 12:16 Creating the love 17:34 Don’t get stuck in someone else’s expectations 19:59 Be curious about anything you’re not allowed to criticize 21:37 Cancel culture 27:20 Tolerating different beliefs 30:09 Stop wasting your time focusing on other people Links: Watch this episode on Youtube Sign up for my newsletter here Watch my recent IG Live on this topic The Impacts of Lockdowns with Dr. Jay Bhattacharya Sponsors: Cured Nutrition | Use code CREATETHELOVE for 20% all products at curednutrition.com/createthelove Organifi | Use code CREATETHELOVE for 20% off all products at organifi.com/createthelove Create the Love Cards | Use code CTLCARDS15 for 15% off at createthelove.com/cards

#224: Be Authentic — It's Good For Your Health with Dr. Christian Gonzalez Aug 01, 2022
    Show notes

Themes: Healing, Health, Holistic Health, Emotions, Self-Expression, Authenticity Summary: I often talk about the deep impact both our relationships and emotional health have on our physical health, so this week I’m thrilled to be diving deeper into the subject with the one and only Dr. Christian Gonzalez. Join us for a beautiful conversation about why authentic self-expression and releasing suppressed emotions is so important for the health of your body, mind and spirit. Dr. G took an interest in many fields of medicine, but it wasn’t until his mother passed of cancer that he decided to shift his focus to oncology. There he found a passion for helping people optimize their health by preventing chronic disease and he soon realized that cancer was not simply nutritional or exercise-based, it was much more than that. As he studied this concept more, Dr. G became passionate about environmental medicine as well as the mind, body, and spirit connection. Everything is connected, from the foods we eat to the way we think and interact with the world and the people in our lives. These seemingly small factors all play a large part when it comes to our health and longevity. Because of this, Dr. G has shifted from working with patients to focusing his energy on mass education. He is the host of the excellent Heal Thy Self podcast, which focuses on giving people the tools they need to truly heal from the inside out and highlights some of the top medical professionals in the industry. Discover: How the relationships we have with our home, the environment, and the people in our lives all play a role in the development of chronic disease The deep impact your emotional health has on your physical health Why authentic self-expression is so important The pathway to healing suppressed emotions and unhooking from unhelpful protective mechanisms 00:00 Intro 02:26 How Dr. G got started in the medical field 06:15 Pivoting into Naturopathic Medicine 11:06 Healing from suppressed emotions and trauma 17:34 The cost of resisting your true emotions 25:15 Letting yourself feel “negative” & “unlovable” emotions 32:06 The role of nutrition and supplementation 37:04 Authentic self expression can protect you from toxic environments Links: Instagram | @doctor.gonzalez Website | docgonzalez.com Podcast | Heal Thy Self with Dr. G Mark Groves on Heal Thy Self with Dr. G Sponsors: Cured Nutrition | Use code CREATETHELOVE for 20% all products at curednutrition.com/createthelove Organifi | Use code CREATETHELOVE for 20% off all products at organifi.com/createthelove Create the Love Cards | Use code CTLCARDS15 for 15% off at createthelove.com/cards
