The No. 1 Texas Longhorns finished their cruise through non-conference play with a lopsided win over the ULM Warhawks.

Arch Manning got the start in place of an injured Quinn Ewers and came down to earth a bit after a headline-grabbing performance against UTSA. Jaydon Blue was the star on the offensive side, while the defense as a whole shut down the Warhawks and made their ground attack a non-issue early.

The newly-minted No. 1 Texas Longhorns once again did what elite teams do against outmatched opponents, dominating the UTSA Roadrunners by nearly 50 points.

It wasn't all good news for Texas, with Heisman-hopeful quarterback Quinn Ewers leaving the game with what was revealed to be an abdominal strain. Redshirt freshman Arch Manning filled in for the injured star and announced his presence to the nation with a massive, five-touchdown performance.

The No. 2 Texas Longhorns have high expectations for the rest of the season after they dismantled the Michigan Wolverines on the road. The rest of the season starts Saturday with a team from right down the highway, the UTSA Roadrunners.

The post-Frank Harris era has had a rocky start, with UTSA coming off of a beating at the hands of rival Texas State and narrowly escaping Kennesaw State in the opener.

The No. 2 Texas Longhorns went into Ann Arbor and absolutely dismantled the Michigan Wolverines on both sides of the ball.

Quarterback Quinn Ewers vaulted himself to the top of the Heisman Trophy conversation and found a new favorite target at the same time. The ground game was consistent with a corps mentality thanks, in part, to the offensive line dominating Michigan's talented front.

Defensively, Texas had no trouble with Michigan, who is still trying to figure out its identity in Week 2.

The No. 4 Texas Longhorns did what championship-contending teams should do to outmatched opponents and jumped all over the Colorado State Rams to a lopsided victory.

Perhaps the most impressive part about the game is that there wasn't a truly dominant performance from one player. Quarterback Quinn Ewers turned in another day at the office, spreading the ball around to multiple receivers en route to an early exit. Jaydon Blue got the start at running back and ended his day early with the game in-hand as Texas looks to protect the depth in that room.

The defense shut down the Rams' air raid attack, turning them over two times en-route to the season-opening shut out. Fans hope that same intensity travels with them north as they prepare for the unfriendly confines of Ann Arbor, Mich.

August 29, 2024 - Week 1 Preview: Colorado State Aug 29, 2024

After a long offseason, the week is finally upon us -- the Texas Longhorns will take the field for the 2024 season.

They open the season on a hot Saturday against the Jay Norvell and the Colorado State Rams, a team that was a few one-score games away from a winning record a year ago. They return the top two threats from a passing game that embraces the classic Air Raid thanks to offensive coordinator Matt Mumme, son of the legendary Hal Mumme.
