    December 3, 2024 - Texas smothers Texas A&M Dec 03, 2024
    Show notes

After 13 years, the rivalry returned and the result was the same as it was more than a decade ago; the Texas Longhorns went into College Station and came away with a win.

The Longhorns' defense was the biggest reason for the dominant win, keeping the Aggies out of the end zone for the first time this season. Texas held their rushing game in check and forced quarterback Marcell Reed to beat them throwing the football.

    Novemver 28, 2024 - Texas prepares for Texas A&M Nov 28, 2024
    Show notes

The rivalry is back after 13 years and the No. 3 Texas Longhorns have one final hurdle to achieve their regular season goals, a win over rival Texas A&M.

The Aggies, in the first year of the Mike Elko era, are taking advantage of the stocked cupboard and have also positioned themselves for a shot at their first SEC Championship Game. Can they overcome the Longhorns with a combination of talent, scheme, and the raucous denizens of Kyle Field?

    November 26, 2024 - Texas takes care of Kentucky Nov 26, 2024
    Show notes

The Texas Longhorns controlled the game wire-to-wire, even if it was a frustration show form the offense at-times. Texas was able to move the ball despite the ankle injury that hampered Quinn Ewers and limited his mobility, thanks to the late-game performance from the running backs and offensive line.

Perhaps the biggest reason they were in that position was the play of the defense, who smothered UK from the opening drive and kept them in check all afternoon.

November 21, 2024 - Texas hosts Kentucky for Senior Day Nov 21, 2024
    Show notes

The No. 3 Texas Longhorns have two games left between them and reaching the first of their major goals, playing in the SEC Championship game. Their path to the title game is simple for Texas; win the next two games and they're in.

The first of those hurdles is senior day against the Kentucky Wildcats, who just snapped a long losing streak over Murray State. Their winning formula is simple, slow the game down and keep the opposing offense off of the field. Can the Texas offense rebound from their struggles against Arkansas and keep the train on the tracks?

    November 19, 2024 - Texas holds off Arkansas Nov 19, 2024
    Show notes

The No. 3 Texas Longhorns had to sweat it out thanks to some third quarter offensive struggles but managed to turn it on when it counted and come out of Fayetteville with a win over a historic rival.

What does the Longhorns' performance tell us about the final two games and what will they need to do to stay atop the SEC with just two games left on the schedule?

We also dive in on basketball's successful week and celebrate Texas sending runners to the National Championship.

    November 14, 2024 - Texas squares off against Arkansas Nov 14, 2024
    Show notes

The No. 3 Texas Longhorns are set to reignite and old Southwest Conference Rivalry, heading to Fayetteville to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Arkansas has been an inconsistent threat this year, but has explosive players on offense that can quickly make defenses pay. Will Texas be able to contain their dual-threat quarterback and put a lid on the running game? Will the Longhorns be able to generate enough offense to keep ahead of their old foe?

    November 12, 2024 - Texas demolishes Florida Nov 12, 2024
    Show notes

The No. 5 Texas Longhorns came out of the bye week with something to prove and did just that, dismantling Florida from the early parts of the game.

Texas did give up some yardage late, after pulling the starters, for their statistically worst game of the year. However, there's nuance required when discussing the performance of the defense against the Gators, especially in the second half.

    November 7, 2024 - Texas Longhorns host Florida Nov 07, 2024
    Show notes

After a week off, the No. 5 Texas Longhorns are back in action at home, hosting the Florida Gators to start the last third of the regular season.

Florida has been resurgent in their last few games, but may be without the services of quarterback DJ Lagway, who went down with an injury last Saturday. The Gators' ability to move the ball will look quite different depending on whether Lagway or his backup -- Yale transfer Aidan Warner -- take the field Saturday.

    November 5, 2024 - Women's Basketball Preview Nov 05, 2024
    Show notes

The No. 4 Texas Longhorns are ready to storm the SEC with Vic Schaefer's deepest squad during his time in Austin. Led by a talented core of experienced players, the Longhorns added key talent from the portal and the No. 5 recruiting class in the nation.

In the most physical and competitive women's basketball in the country, the Longhorns are picked to finish second behind the defending national champions. What are fair expectations for them in their first run in the SEC?

    October 31, 2024 - Texas Men's Basketball Preview Oct 31, 2024
    Show notes

We took advantage of the football team's bye week to take a deep dive into the Texas Longhorns men's basketball team, entering their second full year under Rodney Terry.

There will be a lot of new faces playing at the Moody Center in 2024-25, with Terry dipping into the portal several times to supplement the core of returning players and high school talent. What do we expect from this team in its first year of SEC play?
