Episode #221 - Creative Process: Nexus Primalis Aug 02, 2022

Show notes

It's just another episode... or is it? (No it is not.)

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:22:51

We are plagued by technical difficulties! Early on, Adam says "nothing should be changed", but that doesn't bear out. Give it a listen and see how well Trevor was able to piece together our nonsense!

We're setting up Gen Con right now — if you're at the show, come visit us in booth #1321! Next week is our regularly schedule Gen Con break, and the week after that will be the recording of the Gen Con LIVE show! After that, on Friday, August 19th, we'll be recording Editor's Note #58, which will be a follow-up to this episode, which we talk about (unexpectedly) during today's episode! If you're on The Letters Page Patreon, please tune in! This will be a community effort! We look forward to a massive creative process with all of you!

Episode #220 - Writers' Room: Southwest Sentinels #34 Jul 26, 2022

Show notes

A Southwest Sentinels story? It's been so long!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:35:40

We're counting down the days until Gen Con, but we're not quite there yet! We reached out to the Letters Page Patreon contributors for some help narrowing down this topic, and we got a story we might not have told otherwise, which was a blast! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Get your questions in now about Nexus Primalus, as we're creatively processing that strange place this coming Friday for next week's episode!

Editor's Note #57 Jul 19, 2022

Show notes

Another successful live show in the bag! Here's the audio.

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:16:37

Too much time spent on banter last time!

Here's the upcoming schedule:

Tuesday, August 2nd: Episode #221: Creative Process: Nexus Primalus
Tuesday, August 9th: No Episode! We're at Gen Con!
Tuesday, August 16th: Gen Con Live 2022
Tuesday, August 23rd: Editor's Note #58
Tuesday, August 30th: Episode #222: Writers' Room: Aminia Twain saves the Freedom Five

We start off by answering questions about OblivAeon... and then it spirals downward continues fruitfully and interestingly from there!

Join us next week for Episode #220: Writers' Room: A minor villain gets a major triumph! Who can it be?! Time will tell...

Episode #219 - Creative Process: Scholar Villains Jul 12, 2022

Show notes

Villains for such a friendly fellow? How can it be?!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 2:02:47

We start off with a real life tale of peril! If you don't want to hear about me and some of my friends in real life danger, I recommend skipping ahead to around the 35 minute mark. That said, it's a helluva story! And everyone survives! Uh, spoilers, I guess.

Then, we make some villains! We're all over the place on this one, and we're thrilled with the things we came up with. A real cornucopia of evil.

Join us next week for an Editor's Note, or, if you're on the Letters Page Patreon, join us this Friday for the live recording of that Editor's Note!

Episode #218 - Writer's Room: Freedom Five #683 Jul 05, 2022

Show notes

It's pirate time!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:48:10

We've got quite the story for you today, and it's all happening live (except for the fact that I did a bunch of middle of the night thinking about the story before we recorded, as discussed on the air).

We tell more than just an issue or two of story in today's episode — we range far and wide, but still manage to go deep on more than just today's cover issue! We've been on a creative roll, and you get to reap the benefits!

Join us next time for a Creative Process episode all about Scholar Villains! Get your questions in now!

Episode #217 - Disparation Vol. 1 #13 Jun 28, 2022

Show notes

Time to get BOLD!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:38:15

Whew, this is a big one! We've been thinking about this story internally for a while, and we're excited to get to share it with all of you! We hope you enjoy it!

Special thanks today to Greater Than Games employees SaRae Henderson and Twuana Price for their helpful advice and consideration on the history and depiction of this story.

Join us next week, when we tell a La Capitan story!

Editor's Note #56 Jun 21, 2022

Show notes

Another episode recorded at an odd time!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:11:19

Since we recorded this episode about a week early, we didn't know at the time of recording what the outcome of the voting would be, but we know now! So, here we go:

Upcoming schedule:

Tuesday, July 5th: Episode #218: Writers' Room: La Capitan & the Sliver of Creation
Tuesday, July 12th: Episode #219: Creative Process: Scholar Villains
Tuesday, July 19st: Editor's Note #57
Tuesday, July 26th: Episode #220: Writers' Room: A minor villain gets a major triumph

We talk about a bunch of topics, including a fair bit about Definitive Edition stuff, and we take a bunch of live questions from the Patreon Discord, too! It's an Editor's Note! You know how it goes, probably.

Get your questions in for those upcoming episodes! We look forward to reading your letters!

Episode #216 - Disparation Vol. 2 #2 Jun 14, 2022

Show notes

Ve vant to tell you stories!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:44:59

Vampires! A whole world of them?! You betcha!

We do some goofs, and then get down to crafting a lot of story!

Next week is this month's Editor's Note, but we already recorded it! But we'll have a whole new slate of episodes for next month coming soon!

Episode #215 - Disparation Vol. 2 #103 Jun 07, 2022

Show notes

Time for a bit of passionate heroics!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:26:14

We're into the month of June! Disparation all month! Will it wear out its welcome? Who can say? Time will tell!

First, we get into the heady topic of "chip clips" and then solve them. Also, we tackle fries. Is this the return of the food episode? Listen and find out!

This coming Friday, we're recording an episode about "Vampire World". Get your questions in before the sun rises and we all turn to dust!

Episode #214: Writers' Room: Justice Comics #695 May 31, 2022

Show notes

We'll paint you a story!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:23:10

It's Adam's birthday! Today is the day! As a result — or, actually, because you demanded it — we tell a frankly silly story that ends up doing some interesting things. And also we read your letters!

This was the first of two episodes recorded in one day, as I'm now in the UK for a week and a half for UK Games Expo! (If you'll be at the show, come hang out with us in Booth #1-852!) But, was this the BEST episode we recorded today? You'll just have to find out next week!
