On June 7th, 2007, Chris and Christi Hall were up early rinsing off in their backyard spa, as their bathrooms were under renovation, when suddenly Chris began shouting for help from his daughter, who was asleep inside. Christi had apparently fallen, hit her head on the side of the concrete spa and fallen in the water. Paramedics were called, but there was nothing that could be done…Christi Hall was dead of an apparent accidental drowning. But what Chris Hall didn’t realize was there was someone on the other side of their backyard wall that was catching glimpses of what was going on, and to her it was definitely not a simple slip and fall.

The 1945 Kidnapping And Murder Of Thora Chamberlain And The Very First 'No Body' Conviction In The State Of California.

On November 2, 1945, 14 year old Thora Chamberlain was walking with friends after school to a football game. They were approached by a man in a Plymouth dressed as a serviceman. He told Thora his sister needed a babysitter for 30 minutes, so, she agreed to go, trusting the man in uniform. Thora was never seen or heard from again. Despite her body having never been found, the State of California would try the suspect in her killing with murder, and it would become the first no body conviction ever in the state. On April 16, 1988, 911 was called to the Glendale, California office of neurologist Dr. Richard Boggs. A patient had apparently suffered a heart attack and died during a routine office visit. But first responders quickly noticed some inconsistencies in the doctor’s story that the man had just died. The dead man was cold to the touch, and rigor had already set in. Something strange was afoot at the doctor’s office, but what exactly it was would reveal a very diabolical, albeit convoluted plot to commit insurance fraud.

But instead of being treated as the grieving son, he quickly became the prime suspect. And the investigators on the case would do what they needed to do to make sure the case they were building against him would stick, no matter what it took.
