The Years-Long Crime Spree Of Former Glendale Fire Chief John Orr Who Set Fires Up And Down The State of California All While Working As An Arson Investigator [Part 1]
From 1984 through 1991, thousands of fires were intentionally set from Southern California to the Central Coast, the Central Valley and countless places in between. Homes, business, dry brush...nothing was off limits. The arsonist left virtually nothing behind in the way of evidence that could ever be traced back to him for years. The damage and destruction soared into the millions...countless millions. And 4 innocent lives were lost. The arsonist was brazen, he set fires with impunity, and he managed to get away with it for a long time...until he finally slipped up and left behind a clue that would eventually lead investigators right to him. It was then that it became clear why this pyromaniac was able to set fire after fire after fire while managing to elude capture - he was one of them...investigating the very fires that he was setting. Busting arsonists while moonlighting as one. Driven by a desire for attention, to be a hero, to be the very best at arson investigation, to garner recognition for his dedication to his job while he steadily rose through the ranks. But, there was also an insatiable desire to feed his own sadomasochistic sexual urges...which for him, was to watch things burn. It took years for investigators to catch on to him...and even when he did come up as a possible suspect, nobody who knew him or worked with him were even willing to entertain the possibility he was the arsonist they sought. This only emboldened him even more and allowed for the devastation and destruction to continue for much longer than it should have. Even years later, there are many who still refuse to believe he was responsible. Join me as I tell the story of the most prolific serial arsonist the state of California, possibly the entire country, has ever seen.

In 2001, Amanda Bossingham committed a federal crime by using someone else's social security number when taking out a $15,000. After years of delays and appeals, she finally served her 14 month sentence beginning in October of 2008. During the years of delays, Amanda got married and she and her husband opened a bakery and bistro in Scottsdale, Arizona and when she was released from prison, she was fortunate to have been able to go right back to it. But being in the restaurant industry proved to be somewhat of a challenge for the couple and by later 2012, their business was failing. So, who did they reach out to for help? None other than Gordon Ramsay and his show, Kitchen Nightmares. It would turn out to be more than even Gordon himself could fix!

The Tragic 1999 Shooting Death Of Halloween Prankster 17 Year Old Brandon Ketsdever
This is a remastered re-release of a bonus episode from October of 2018 entitled The Tale of the Castle Doctrine. I was asked to take the episode down. It was one that was suggested to me by a listener. But someone closely related to the story took issue with the episode, so I pulled the version where I thanked the listener who recommended this to me and I am re-recording it renaming it the Tale of Brandon Ketsdever and the Castle Doctrine. I feel these cases are important lessons, especially for young people who might be getting into mischief or pranking. It is a cautionary tale and serves as a reminder that our kids and young people need to think about the things they do, make good choices, use better judgement, and that they are not immortal.

A Pair Of Double Murders in 2008 And 2013 In Omaha Nebraska And The Former Physician Sitting On Death Row Convicted Of The 4 Killings Anthony Garcia [Part 4]
On March 13th, 2008, the citizens of Omaha, Nebraska were shaken as news broke that there had been a double murder in Dundee, one of the city’s normally quiet, affluent neighborhoods. It was a mysterious crime that, on the surface, made no sense. It was abundantly clear, however that whoever this murderer was had gone there that day with that purpose and that purpose alone - to kill. It was a crime that left detectives scratching their heads. Days, weeks, months, and ultimately years would pass without any clues or evidence pointing towards any suspects. The case grew cold and the city of Omaha were left wondering - was there a killer among them? Five years and 2 months later, on Mother’s Day of 2013, Omaha would be struck yet again by another double murder...and it brought the first double murder case back to life. Evidence at the scene left no doubt that these 2 cases were connected, leaving investigators faced with the terrifying possibility that they were dealing with a serial killer. And it brought about a renewed sense of urgency to get these cases solved and the killer behind bars. Today, we are going to examining these murder investigations to try to find the answers to some burning questions - how did these 4 people, who had no obvious connection to one another end up murder 5 years apart in eerily similar ways? Why were these people targeted? Who was responsible? And we are going to try and figure out if important clues were overlooked early on that, if investigated thoroughly, could have prevented the second double murder from happening. The Kissel boys were born and raised in what we used to think of as the quintessential American family...like something you’d watch on some wholesome sitcom. They were as competitive as they were ambitious and those qualities would take both brothers on their very own, unique successful journeys in life. But the younger of the two, Robert, he always seemed to have a bit of an edge on older brother Andrew...he was taller, more athletic, more popular, more social, friendly...things simply came easier. Robert was the brother who followed the rules...he maneuvered wisely, cautiously, thoughtfully.
