Chris Smith was a young, up and coming business man who had a knack for getting people to think they needed a mortgage refi or debt consolidation. He eventually decided he didn't want to work for anyone else but himself, so he and a co-worker formed their own Lead Generation company they called The 800 Exchange. They hit the ground running, and began making money hand over fist as soon as they launched. Unfortunately, Chris didn't know his partner Ed as well as he thought he did and within a year, he found his new business partner mired in financial legal problems - big ones - both civilly and criminally. Ed eventually came up with a scheme to try and solve all his problems - but it involved eliminating his unsuspecting partner.

The 2014 Mauling Death of Dayton, Ohio Resident Klonda Richey By A Pair of Cane Corso Italian Mastiffs Owned By Her Next Door Neighbor Andrew Nason
Klonda Richey was a lifelong resident of Dayton, Ohio. The house she lived in was her pride and joy and she had been there for well over 20 years by the time new neighbors moved in right next door - Andrew Nason, his girlfriend Julie Custer, and her 3 children. The thing about Klonda is she was known as the neighborhood cat lady. And not only did she have cats in and around her house, she had actually purchased an empty house up the street from hers JUST for her cats to live in. Andrew wasn't too happy about Klonda's cats coming into his yard and scratching the paint on his vehicles and that is all it took for a years long feud to begin.

An Look At the Deaths Of Actress Brittany Murphy And Her Husband Of 2 1/2 Years Simon Monjack 5 Months Apart But Under Eerily Similar Circumstances
In this episode we take a bit of a more controversial look at the untimely deaths of Brittany Murphy and her husband's mysteriously similar death 5 months later, Simon Monjack. Brittany burst on to the scene after nailing the role of "Tai Fraser" in the 1995 hit "Clueless". She transformed from that cute, lovable character into what she and the world believed to be the quintessential Hollywood leading lady by losing weight, going blond and glamming up her style, makeup and wardrobe. She was dating her leading men, but nothing serious or long term ever materialized until she met Simon in 2006. They married less than a year later. And then in 3 years time, they would both be dead. The media relentlessly hounded Brittany before her marriage. They then turned their sights on Simon after her death by spreading rumors and conjecture about his marriage to Brittany, the influence and control he allegedly had over her life, and the possibility that he had a hand in his death. But what the media failed to do was take a look at themselves and the role THEY played in both of their lives and their deaths.

The 5 Children of Suspected Killer Chad Daybell And Step-Children Of Lori Vallow Speak Out About Their Father's Innocence, Claiming He Was Framed By His Wife And Her Brother, Alex Cox
In the Fall of 2019, a frantic, nationwide search was was launched for 2 missing children - 16 year old Tylee Ryan and her brother, 7 year old JJ Vallow. The last time there was a verified sighting of them was in back in early to mid-September. And when authorities in Madison County, Idaho issued a court order for their mother, Lori Vallow to produce them within 5 days, she failed to do so, choosing instead to flee the mainland with her then new husband of only 3 weeks, doomsday prepper and religious extremist, Chad Daybell. With a trail of dead bodies along with her missing children, their carefully crafted plan to exterminate the people in their lives to make room for their relationship and their mission soon fell apart. Then, some two years after their father was arrested, who is currently being charged with 3 counts of capital murder, Daybell's 5 children have broken their silence to defend their father and his innocence. And I have some thoughts about that to share about that.

In 2002, the Villar family, Jean-Pierre, Erika, and 8 year old daughter Laura moved from New Jersey to Longboat Keys, Florida following a serious back injury that was going to have JP sidelined from work for a while. So, the family decided it would be better, easier, and more fun for him to rehab in their favorite vacation destination - Longboat Keys. The moved in to a house next door to Dr. Holli Bodner, a forensic neuropsychologist licensed in the state of Florida. Everything was good between the neighbors - until they weren't. #233 The Tale of the Night That Changed Keddie Forever Aug 22, 2022

On the night of April 11-12, 1981, 35 year old Sue Sharp, her 15 year old son John Sharp, and his friend 17 year old Dana Wingate were brutally murdered in Sue's rented Cabin at a resort located in Keddie, California. Sue's 12 year old daughter was also missing from the scene, though her remains would turn up just over 3 years later about 65 miles away near Feather Falls, California. Two suspects emerged. But because of a botched investigation, mishandled and overlooked evidence, and political rivalries, the case became nearly unsolvable. The case sat cold for more than 3 decades before it was assigned to investigators with the Plumas County Cold Case Unit. With advancements in technology and DNA, there may be a chance to finally give the families of the victims the answers they've been waiting for, for more than 4 decades. This is the story of the Cabin 28 - The Keddie Murders.

Today we briefly revisit a story we covered in Killafornia Dreaming's first year before we get into today's story. Both cases involve bad husbands with even worse attempts at covering their tracks. Two men who decided murder was a better option than divorce - Vincent Brothers and Earl Morris. Brothers was a bit more elaborate than Morris' attempt at getting away with murder...and Morris...his attempted cover up of his wife's disappearance was almost as bad as his attempted cover up of his male pattern balding.
