    112: Return to Calm May 25, 2022
    Show notes

Are you facing a decision this week, or this month?

Sometimes decision-making can feel like a tornado in your spirit. When you think that it’s up to you to make the right decision, it causes constant stress and uneasiness. But I want to offer you some encouragement and comfort - return to calm.

What if you were to think instead “God’s going to make whatever decision I make the right decision”? In this episode, I’m going to talk about:

    • How your brain protects you from the perceived threat of the unknown
    • Calming your limbic system like you would a frightened child
    • Bringing peace to the tornadic activity in your heart so that you can hear God’s whisper
    • How God often allows you to exercise your maturity and wisdom to make the right decision
    • Putting on the armor of God in your decision-making

According to Romans 8:28, God makes even your mistakes work together for your good. So, why not return to calm? You can trust God to lead you faithfully.

What holds you back from marketing your book? Is it the awkwardness of public speaking? Or are you afraid of looking pompous telling others that you’ve written a book? Do you feel self-conscious about doing reels and Instagram lives?

My friend, one of the major parts of writing a book is showing up to market it. In this episode, I’m going to show you how you can show up with authority and authenticity by marketing your book as a spiritual act of worship to God.

    I will talk about:

    • Collecting the dots in writing and marketing your book so God can connect the dots
    • Becoming a true worshiper in sharing your book with others
    • Taking up your cross and dying to yourself daily so you can bear fruit through your book

God is advancing the Kingdom right now through Christian books! And God already knows who needs your book. When you show up in obedience and market your book as a spiritual act of worship, then God can draw those hurting people to you. You will bear fruit and change lives in Jesus’s name! Listen in and let me encourage you!

110: Do What You Fear May 11, 2022
    Show notes

If God has been whispering to your heart that He wants you to write a book, and if friends and family have been telling you that you should write a book, then why haven’t you?

Maybe you say you don’t have the time. Maybe you say that you don’t know how to do it and you’re confused and overwhelmed with the process.

But here’s the truth: what is presenting itself to you as confusion, overwhelm, self-doubt, and a lack of time is actually just fear wearing a different mask every time. You are already an anointed and appointed writer, and the enemy can’t take that from you. But what he tries to do is steal, kill, and destroy your confidence through fear.

In this episode, Nika shows you how to overcome as she talks about:

    • Acknowledging that fear is a spirit, not just a feeling
    • The fruit of the Holy Spirit as an antidote for the fear spirit
    • Choosing which spirit to echo with your words
    • Confronting fear with the Love of God
    • Intentionally positioning yourself to receive the comfort of His presence by practicing spiritual disciplines
    • The commandment of courage
    • Escaping the trap of the fear of man
    • Going through the obscuring curtain of fear

The enemy will only go to the trouble to put a curtain of fear in front of what God has for you. So the thing that you fear is not what you should avoid, but what you should do.

This episode is going to encourage you!

    109: Think Modestly May 04, 2022
    Show notes

What is your idea of success as an author? Is it to sell 100,000 copies of your book? Or for it to be on a Best Sellers list? That would be a dream for most authors. But if you’re just starting out, this might not be where you should set your sights. In this episode, Nika explains how to think modestly about your writing career and set attainable goals for your book.

    Nika will share about:

    • Valuing every heart touched and dollar earned
    • Personal examples of what a profitable writing career can look like
    • What to do when you don’t know what to do
    • Planting seeds and the principle of harvest
    • Practical tips and spiritual insights for setting attainable goals for your book

Big dreams are not bad, but they can be overwhelming. If you learn to think modestly and do the planting you need to do for today, then you can trust God to bring in the harvest when the time is right. Check out the full episode and be encouraged!

    108: Say Amen Apr 27, 2022
    Show notes

Are you afraid that you won’t be able to do the thing God has called you to do? Guess what - that’s just not possible! Ephesians 2:10 says that God has good works prepared for you to do, and Romans 11:29 says that your gifts and callings cannot be revoked. When Father God calls you to do something, He asks Jesus to empower you to do that thing. And Jesus says “Yes!” But you have to say, “amen.”

    In this episode, Nika covers:

    • Avoiding the pain of disobedience
    • The one way that you can miss out on what God has for you
    • “Completing the loop” and agreeing with Jesus
    • Enabling God to deliver on His promises for you by aligning with His heart

Writer, if God has put a book inside of you, Jesus has already said, “yes,” and He has empowered you to write that book. You just need to say, “amen!”

106: Let Principles Lead the Way with Leo Sabo Apr 13, 2022
    Show notes

Every day, I meet Christian women who feel called by God to write a book. They can’t shake the urge. They can’t sleep at night. They are distracted during the day. They are afraid they will reach the end of their lives and never actually finish their book. When they meet me, they finally feel hope that they can do it because they know I can show them how.

But when I invite them to join The Keep Writing Course, most of the women I meet say the same thing: “I don’t have the money right now.”

Oh, this response grieves me. I believe Christians everywhere are not stepping forward in their callings because they are not using the tool of money in a way that facilitates their Kingdom purpose.

My friend, Leo Sabo, feels the same way. He is the President of the Christian Stewardship Network. He loves to see people experience their own financial awakening, and he’s spent the last 17 years working with couples, individuals and church leaders; helping them understand and manage finances conforming to Biblical principles. His life mission is, “Helping people become financially free, thereby enabling them to pursue their true life’s purpose.”

Leo has served as a Stewardship Pastor at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas for 11 years, where he enjoyed building volunteer teams, teaching, coaching, and developing curriculum. In his current role as president of CSN, he gets to share the incredible impact financial stewardship and generosity can have in the Church.

Leo and his wife Natalie have been married 30 years. They have two daughters, two sons-in-law, and four grandchildren.

Not long ago, I invited him to speak at an event and pour financial encouragement into my guests that day. Now, I want to share his wisdom with you. I know it will bless you.

105: Take a Step with Alisa Keeton Apr 06, 2022
    Show notes

I met Alisa Keeton in October 2019 at a writing conference where we were both asked to speak. The moment she took the stage, I knew something was different. Her delivery was drenched in the Holy Spirit, and even though it was a message about fitness (not something I am usually interested in) I had to lean in.

She has a God-given perspective on the human body that is different from anything I had ever heard before. So many times, a twisted view of our bodies and our skills holds us back from living in freedom, love, and security in Christ. Can you imagine if you looked in the mirror and thought kind thoughts about yourself as a spiritual being who lives in a body? How would your life change? And what if you could look at your writing and think kind thoughts about yourself as a person who shares Kingdom messages through words? How much would your life change?

As both a wellness coach and a writer, Alisa shares the impact of our thoughts in our conversation today. You’re invited to join in.
