    The Jerry Springer Podcast

The Jerry Springer Podcast: Tales, Tunes and Tomfoolery is a weekly mix of comedy, liberal political talk and roots music performed by up and coming song writers and groups. Jerry is joined by Jene Galvin and Megan Hils as they compare their dissimilar lives, convo about events of the day and occasionally welcome a phone guest, some real and others you wonder. Like State Senator Tip Kemper, who recently proposed a literacy bill requiring citizens to read a book a month and submit a written report to the government at the post office. But in the middle of each episode, Jerry shows his serious side with a unique take on a current political or social issue drawing from his years as Cincinnati’s mayor and top ranked news anchor. Performed before a small audience at the Folk School Coffee Parlor in Ludlow, Kentucky, The Jerry Springer Podcast is live streamed at jerrryspringer.com and Facebook Live and archived on the podcast’s website and all major podcast apps.

John Boehner Resigns, What Happens To His Seat? Episode 23 Oct 14, 2015
    Show notes

Jerry opens the show by complaining about police searching his private plane which he's been flying around, hosting "The Price Is Right." #RichPeopleProblems. Our old friend Tip Kemper then interrupts the podcast, calling in to propose a wacky bill about driving rules. Then he asks Megan out on a date for the "Who Wants To Date Megan" sweepstakes. Next, Jene asks Jerry what he thinks about John Boehner resigning from his post as Speaker of the House. Without a clear successor, the Republican party is still figuring out who will be the next Speaker. Meanwhile, Jerry, of course, has flirted with running for office in that district. Jerry still feels very tied to Cincinnati -- his favorite job was serving as the city's mayor -- and reveals his plans about running.

Our musical guest is a folk duo called Anna and Elizabeth, singing about a Civil War soldier.

Welcome to our 20th episode! Megan tells Jene a man stopped her in the grocery store to compliment the podcast. Jene follows up with a story about how he met his first wife (she was a go-go dancer on TV). By the way, she's in the audience. Jene then explains his business plan is on schedule -- but who will advertise? Jerry lends himself to Metamucil ads, Jene to adult diapers and backpack gear, etc. Jerry's more serious take this week is on the horrific refugee problem playing out in Europe, and the Pope’s call for every parish in America to take in one family. Jerry Springer’s Party Trick and The Kim Davis Trial: Episode 19 Sep 15, 2015
    Show notes

Welcome back to the show! We took a few weeks off in August but we're back. First, Jene compliments Jerry on his photographic memory, then prompts Jerry to demonstrate his party trick -- he can name all 44 U.S. Presidents in under a minute. Not to be outdone, Jene says he can do the nearly impossible “rock the baby” yoyo trick and does it quickly with a yoyo he pulls from his pocket. Jerry and Megan describe it to the listening audience. Then, Jerry asks Jene what he observed when he went to Ashland, Kentucky, last week to report on the Kim Davis trial. Jerry comments on the contempt ruling and jail sentence.
