The Jerry Springer Podcast — News
The Jerry Springer Podcast

The Jerry Springer Podcast: Tales, Tunes and Tomfoolery is a weekly mix of comedy, liberal political talk and roots music performed by up and coming song writers and groups. Jerry is joined by Jene Galvin and Megan Hils as they compare their dissimilar lives, convo about events of the day and occasionally welcome a phone guest, some real and others you wonder. Like State Senator Tip Kemper, who recently proposed a literacy bill requiring citizens to read a book a month and submit a written report to the government at the post office. But in the middle of each episode, Jerry shows his serious side with a unique take on a current political or social issue drawing from his years as Cincinnati’s mayor and top ranked news anchor. Performed before a small audience at the Folk School Coffee Parlor in Ludlow, Kentucky, The Jerry Springer Podcast is live streamed at jerrryspringer.com and Facebook Live and archived on the podcast’s website and all major podcast apps.

Trump's Presidential Pardons: EP 295 Jan 22, 2021

Show notes

We open with teases of Jerry’s Thought for the Week and our musical guest.

There have been media reports of people recently seeing Jerry Springer holding on for his life on the back of a jet ski at 50 miles an hour as it went back and forth across the Sarasota Bay. What the hell is that all about?

Jerry, as we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel on Covid-19, should we begin to lay out the plans for you and us to scale Springer Mountain in Georgia? Would this spring work, assuming we all have gotten the arm jab?

The Second Impeachment of Donald Trump: EP-294 Jan 15, 2021

Show notes

The Second Impeachment of Donald Trump.

We are not proud to say it, but sadly, the Jerry Springer Podcast has been right about Trump since before he was elected. All the politicians who supported him will suffer as a consequence. All their opponents commercials will show footage of the Capitol rioters.

At least a handful of Senators and a good number of the House were deep in the insurrection as well. You knew you were lying and did it anyway. How you feeling now?

Any politician who is convicted of insurrection against the government can never be elected again. All of Trump's social media accounts have been banned, Parler has been taken down, and Trump's brand is trash.

Trump Incites Rioters to Overtake Capitol Hill Jan 08, 2021

Show notes

Trump incites a mob to overtake the Capital. He's a pathetic loser whose best days are behind him. We celebrate the two Democratic senators who won the Georgia election and who now give Biden a Democratic congress. If Puerto Rico and Washington D.C. were to become states it would give Dems an additional 4 senators.

Ludlow Cabin Fever Arts & Music Festival - EP: 292 Dec 29, 2020

Show notes

This week we take a look back at our first Ludlow Cabin Fever Arts and Music Festival, we have a special Saturday night podcast! It may not have gone as planned… It rained all day before flash flooding caused the road going in and out of Ludlow to be shut down. Jene explains how he nearly drowned swimming through the Ohio river trying to get to the coffee parlor. (Don’t believe a word of it.)

We talk about the Ludlow Cabin Fever Arts and Music Festival and our part in it. We talk with a tipsy Catfish about the Bootsy Collins foundation and the great enthusiasm for the festival.

Then, because Jerry is stranded due to rain, former high school teacher Jene goes in on the ludicrous idea of arming teachers.

We have many musical guests this week:

The Impact of the Electoral College Dec 23, 2020

Show notes

Happy Holidays!

We're taking a look back at our first show after Trump was elected and Jerry predicted if Trump lost he would have called the election "Rigged." Melania Trump is a big Jerry Springer Show fan and also loves our podcast. (Who knew?) She left a late night message on our podcast answering machine …

Jene explains that he bought Jerry’s book, The Ringmaster, to learn more about his boss, and Jerry explains how the writing process worked. Jerry says he got a reference request from the Trump transition team for JENE. What the hell is going on?

Jerry discusses the causes and impact of the Electoral College. Imagine if Trump had won the popular vote but still lost the election. “Rigged!”

We Will Not Have A King: EP-290 Dec 16, 2020

Show notes

As a PSA to persuade anti vaxxers to get the Covid vaccine, Jerry, would you be willing to get your Covid vaccination live on our show? Megan, would you be willing to give him the arm stick? Do you have any medical background? Any at all? Being a Kentucky girl, might you have ever, say, interned with, say, a horse veterinarian? That would be good enough.

With Covid, we’re all looking for creative ways to gather family using technology during the Xmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc. Jene, for example, is organizing the First Annual Galvin Family Trivia Contest with all of his family members spread throughout the US, done on Xmas evening. Here’s a sample question: Which Galvin family member was kicked off his high school freshman basketball team when he was caught smoking by his coach?

Are you guys planning anything during the holiday season? Maybe we should do a Jerry Springer Podcast Cast Trivia Contest next show. Any sample questions? The winner could become a thing we call “Listener of the Month.”

EP-289: The Aftermath of the Trump Presidency Dec 09, 2020

Show notes

Jene has an idea for getting Jerry much deserved recognition from the new Biden administration. He’ll explain.

Jene discusses the magical Flowbee, recently reminded of the incredible hair tool by George Clooney.

As a PSA to persuade anti-vaxxers to get the Covid vaccine, Jerry, would you be willing to get your Covid vaccination live on our show? Megan, would you be willing to give him the arm stick? Do you have any medical background? Any at all? Being a Kentucky girl, might you have ever, say, interned with, say, a horse veterinarian? That would be good enough.

Will Trump Try to Pardon Himself? Dec 01, 2020

Show notes

Donald Trump has claimed signatures were forged on absentee ballots because they don’t match old voter registration forms, but many of our signatures change over time. Lazy ol' Jene's has changed quite a bit, but he's not a bit lazy in countering Republican claims of fraudulent signatures.

Jene has started the paper work for all members of the Jerry Springer Podcast staff to get priority status in the Covid 19 vaccination process. (And their families …. and pets.)
