Furness Show 1-7: Jon Ryan, Mike Macdonald Press Conference, Reaction. Jan 07, 2025
    Show notes

Nick Rolovich loses his lawsuit against Washington State and Ian has some thoughts about this. Also, there's a lot to address when it comes to Geno Smith and Mike Macdonald. Jon Ryan, Former Seahawks tells Ian what the final 'clean out' day is like as a player. How much do they get to keep? He tells us that most players find out coaching moves through social media or in the media - that's just the way it is. Jon tells us what it was like to watch the Jim Mora 'one and done' year and how it applies to what we're seeing with Ryan Grubb. The Daily Power Play! We listen into Mike Macdonald's press conference as he closes things out for the year and addresses the firing of offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. We react to what Mike Macdonald had to say about the team and the firing of Ryan Grubb. More reaction to Macdonald. We listen back to the most pertinent things Mike Macdonald had to say about firing Ryan Grubb, what his vision is for the future of the offense and what he's looking for in his next offensive coordinator. Also, for anyone who thinks DK Metcalf might not be here next year, you've got another thing coming. Parting ways with him wouldn't make the Seahawks a better team. Byron Murphy should've been a more impact player.

Headlines! Hugh Millen tackles Hardcore Football and the first thing we look at is why Ryan Grubb was fired, what we can look to next and where the blame lies overall with the failure of the offense this season. Anne McCoy, Washington State Athletic Director Dec 20, 2024
Show notes Anne McCoy, Washington State Athletic Director joins Ian to talk about Jake Dickert's departure from the program. She's looking ahead and understands that these things happen in CFB but admits the players likely didn't expect their coach to leave prior to the bowl game with how close we are to it. Why was Pete Kaligis the right person to take over as interim? Timing-wise, she doesn't want to rush this process and a lot of candidates are still coaching. She feels it should happen soon, but won't sacrifice a good candidate to save a few days.

We hear from interim WSU HC Pete Kaligis following bowl practice today. Anne McCoy, Washington State Athletic Director joins Ian to talk about Jake Dickert's departure from the program. She's looking ahead and understands that these things happen in CFB but admits the players likely didn't expect their coach to leave prior to the bowl game with how close we are to it. She feels it should happen soon, but won't sacrifice a good candidate to save a few days. Opposing fans coming into Lumen Field and taking over is new to this fanbase - but the Seahawks need to control what they can, which is winning. That would help when it comes to fans. In The Daily Power Play! We have a new sponsor coming on and a new player on the Kraken from whom we hear. Corbin Smith, Seahawks Maven and Locked on Seahawks joins us to take a look ahead at tonight's Thursday night matchup, which is sneaky good. Who is to blame for the Seahawks woes when we see them struggle? Also, why has the Seahawks' offensive line regressed? Good playcalling can mitigate poor offensive line play, so Corbin does lay some at the feet of OC Ryan Grubb.

    Show notes

Ian is live from Chambers Bay for a very great reason. Jake Dickert is on his way to Wake Forest and Ian is both mad and disappointed at the same time. While we know college football is a transient business, we were led to believe Dickert was cut from a different cloth, especially considering what we've heard from him throughout this season. Ian sees this as wrong on a lot of levels. Brandon Funston, The Athletic joins us for a check in on the fantasy football playoffs! He takes you through the latest on your fantasy roster. The Cougar Roundtable with Alex Brink and Mkristo Bruce! While the guys can agree with the disappointment Ian feels in the wake of Coach Dickert's departure, they don't think he did anything any other coach would've done. As for the statements Dickert made leading up to this, which contradict his action today, there's not much else he can say in those situations. Ian gives some names he's hearing when it comes to interest in the Washington State head coaching position. Mike Holmgren, Legendary Coach joins us to take a look at the week that was for the Seahawks last Sunday and previews the rest of their season down the stretch. Anne McCoy talked to the media today and we listen to what she had to say in the wake of Jake Dickert's departure.
