Tremors and Short Circuit Screenwriter S.S. Wilson joins Aaron and Justin to discuss his Hollywood career in this special episode of The Hollywood Outsider! Following our long-standing debate from way back on Episode 103 of The HO over whether or not Tremors is science-fiction, Steve...the creator of Tremors himself...agreed to come on and squash this debate once and for all.
During his engaging interview, Steve discusses working in Hollywood, from where he received his start in filmmaking all the way through to the current climate of remakes and sequels. He discusses his novels (Fraidy Cats and Tucker's Monster) as well as several of the films he has worked on: Tremors, Short Circuit, Batteries Not Included, Heart and Souls, and even Wild Wild West. He shares stories of working with Steven Spielberg, director Ron Underwood, the Tremors phenomenon, and even offers some intriguing behind-the-scenes info into Kevin Bacon's take on his infamous Tremors role.
An insighful interview with such an infectiously genuine guy, you will have a great time listening to Steve as he recounts his own storied career. Listen and enjoy our exclusive interview with screenwriter, author, producer and director S.S. Wilson!

Our topic this week: Action Heroines. The culture has changed so much over the last decade, getting closer and closer to action equality. We thought, why not take a serious look as some of these ultimate ass-kickers and see how far we've come! We also offer up our favorite Film or TV action heroines...does yours make the list? Listen in to find out.
We look ahead to upcoming releases: In Hercules, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson seeks to hammer his name into yet another franchise as the titular character in Brett Ratner's take on the mythical hero. Lucy brings director Luc Besson together with Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman in an action thriller about a woman who has had her mind opened to its full capacity, with devastating results.
For reviews this week, we have movie and television aplenty! Dawn of the Planet of the Apes gets a proper run through, while Scott and Aaron think you should invest some time in Video Games: The Movie, a documentary on a topic you could probably guess. Guillermo del Toro's The Strain has finally hit FX screens, and we have a bit to say on this new gore-fest. Halle Berry returns to TV in Extant, an attempt to break through to the Sci-Fi audience on CBS...does it work? We'll let you know. We also offer a few parting thoughts on 24 Live Another Day.
All of this and still a little bit more! Brian's Trailer Park offers up Big Hero 6 and Unbroken, two completely different films that might be worth your time when they are released later this year. Another great episode of The Hollywood Outsider is now in the books! Please share the episode with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or social media outlet you crazy kids are using these days.

This special episode of The Hollywood Outsider is all about director Michael Bay. No other director in Hollywood is as savagely attacked by critics and ticket buyers alike as Michael Bay. From the Transformers series, to Bad Boys, and even to Pearl Harbor: We take a look at the man's work and examine why it is that people loathe him so much...as well as do his films truly deserve such attacks? For our latest special episode in the HOs After Dark series, Michael Bay himself is on trial...and you can judge for yourself.
