Enjoy the Re-Release of Meatballs 3!

So this is a movie we did not know existed, but after watching it... WE ARE HAPPY THAT IT DOES! Doug and Jamie discussed Meatballs 3 starring a young Patrick Dempsey, George Buza, and Shannon Tweed. They discussed everything from the movie possibly being set in the 50s, porn heaven, and lots of Mean Gene talk. Meatballs 3 was a pleasant surprise for sure and the full movie is available on YouTube, so check it out.

The link to our chat with "Mean Gene" aka George Buza is at sequelsonly.com/georgebuza

It's with "Mean Gene", who was played by George Buza. George had an interesting career with some memorable roles over the years. George was the voice of Beast from the X-Men animated series and did voices on Babar, Ewoks, The Busy World of Richard Scary and so much more. He was such a great guy and lots of fun to chat with.

Filmmaker Nathan Haugaard (Ghosted/Avatar: The Way of Water) Aug 10, 2023

Show notes

The next sequel we are covering is Blair Witch 2016, a direct sequel to the original. For it, I chatted with Filmmaker Nathan Haugaard. I used filmmaker because Nathan wears many hats; camera operator, pulling focus, director, writer, producer, and cinematographer, and I am probably leaving something out because he does it all. CKY skate videos and The Blair Witch Project helped fuel his filmmaking at a young age. Nathan and I talked about working for James Cameron, shooting Real Housewives, Avatar, other films he's worked on, the Hollywood strikes, and lots more. Great chat!

Bloodfist V: Human Target Aug 03, 2023

Show notes

This week we are back to our Action roots and covering our 1st Don "The Dragon" Wilson flick in "Bloodfist V: Human Target." This movie has zero to do with the previous 4, but still gave us a lot to discuss. Bloodfist V is either the smartest movie ever written because of the big twist at the end or we are giving it too much credit. We talked Steve James, the lack of fight scenes, how amnesia could cure bad behavior, and lots more.

The next sequel we are talking about is Blair Witch 2016 which was a touchstone film series for next week's guest Nathan Haugaard. Nathan grew up in Vancouver... Washington, not Canada. As a kid he grabbed a camera to film his buddies skating and the rest is history. He saw Blair Witch with his buddies and then started shooting horror. Nathan went to LA after High School and quickly worked with James Cameron and learned the ins and outs of 3-D. We talked about the best way to do 3-D, filming reality TV, the strike, and more.

Show notes

This week we are discussing the Wes Craven classic, "The Hills Have Eyes Part 2." This movie has sequel had some familiar faces in like Michael Berryman, Penny Johnson (The Larry Sanders Show), Kevin Spirtas (Friday the 13th Part VII), and more. This one had us talking about naming your kids after planets, splitting up in this scary place, the super gas, realizing it's daylight savings from a newspaper, Jamie not realizing the main character was blind, and lots more. These horror movies teach us to never take shortcuts, even though it's fun to chant "SHORTCUT!"

The next sequel we are talking about is not the one we mentioned in the review because our action sequel expert is available, so we are going to cover "Bloodfist V" starring Don "The Dragon" Wilson, Steve James, and next week's guest Denice Duff. Denice was such a blast to chat with about her career because she loved every project she worked on and shared great memories from them. Return to Frogtown, Subspecies II, Bloodfist V, and more. Denice talked about what's the difference between working with Roger Corman and Charles Band. Awesome Chat!
