This week in the tiny house, we’re joined by Ryder Carroll, founder of the beloved Bullet Journal (or BuJo for short). Ryder was diagnosed with learning disabilities early in life and was forced to figure out alternate ways to be focused and productive. Through years of trial and error, he developed a methodology that went far beyond simple organization. Now he focuses on helping others learn what the Bullet Journal method is truly about: the art of intentional living.
Ivan Cash, an interactive artist and film director, spends a lot of time thinking about non-digital connection. He recently launched IRL Glasses, which are sunglasses that block TV (and other) screens. His work engages culture, celebrates human connection, and is loved by the internet. He stopped by the tiny house to discuss his art and latest project.
Here at Getaway, we know how therapeutic nature can be. So we were thrilled to talk with Andi Pettis, the Director of Horticulture at the High Line, a place that provides a much-needed dose of nature and respite right in the middle of New York City.
Zach Houghton knows what it means to be overworked. He quit his high-power job as a metals trader in Hong Kong to follow his curiosity and start his own business. Passion Passport is a community-based travel site that features a variety of different travel content, from personal travel stories to informative city guides. Zach shares his experiences and strategies for finding balance.
Jess Davis knows what it’s like to be addicted to technology. Her drug of choice: constant emails with clients and colleagues. It took an intervention during a Hawaiian vacation for Jess to realize that she needed to change her life and her approach to connectivity. Jess joined us in the Tiny House to share her personal experiences, and the solutions she’s developed to create balance.
Francine Hermelin loves to unplug. She helps coordinate the National Day of Unplugging and has sent “cell phone sleeping bags” (stay tuned to hear more about those) to more than 35,000 people nationwide. On this week’s episode, she shares tips on creating a healthy tech balance for families and individuals.
This week in the Tiny House we’re joined by Fran Tirado, host of Food 4 Thot and a community-maker for all things queer. Fran tells us why he actually loves being constantly connected, and why his work leaves him with a happy buzz despite the long hours.
