Episode 164 - Our Non-Spoiler Review of 'Parasite' and an Interview with the Cast! Oct 17, 2019

Show notes

That's right, we were able to watch a special screening of Bong Joon Ho's new masterpiece Parasite! We get into our non-spoilers review of the film and its multilayered laughs and thrills. Then we chat with Song Kang Ho, Park So Dam, and Choi Woo Shik about what they hope audiences take away from the film, what it was like shooting on such elaborate sets, and the experience of working with Bong Joon-Ho!

Ana reconciles her hate of Game of Thrones with the fact that they took home a big prize, Derek (as the only person who watched the ceremony) talks about the lack of a host and the flow of the show, and Myke finds out just what shows everyone did watch this year.

Episode 161 - The Summer Movie Wager Follow Up and Summer Movie Review (w/ Albert, Jiaming, and Tyler) Sep 19, 2019

Show notes

Ten episodes ago (literally - Episode 151) we were challenged by our friends Jiaming Liou and Albert Patrick to participate in the /Film Summer Movie Wager. Collectively we each made our predictions of what would be the top ten movies, in their exact order, at the domestic box office from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Eventually our friend Tyler McPhail from The Grand Geek Gathering network joined us and we played a game of fantasy movie box office.

Now all three join Derek and Myke to assess the damage. We all comment on our biggest disappointments, what movies we personally loved regardless, how Pikachu pulled an unfortunate shocker, and how John Wick blasted his way through to the top.

Catch Albert on his many podcasts at whowhatwhereswhy.com including his show with Jiaming: Spoilers, Pleeze.

Catch Tyler McPhail moderating a panel at a con near you and on his many shows that he hosts and/or produces at thegrandgeekgathering.com!
