Business Rundown: The President Opens the Toolbox to Cool Energy Prices Mar 20, 2026
    Show notes

The focus remains on the Strait of Hormuz and the volume of oil flowing through it, as the conflict with Iran continues to drive market volatility. Higher energy prices are fanning inflation fears among investors, and have many of them now guessing when the Fed may cut rates next.

However, the Trump administration is working to ease concerns, drawing on its toolbox of tactics to ensure gas prices don't climb too high.

This week, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says they are considering “un-sanctioning” Iranian oil, which could help relieve supply worries

Meanwhile, President Trump continues to pressure allies to help secure the Strait and help stabilize global markets Phil Flynn, a Senior Market Analyst and FOX Business Contributor, joins FOX Business Network's Gerri Willis to share his outlook for oil prices in the coming weeks and how much of an impact he thinks the white house's efforts will have on pump prices and Americans' wallets.

    Show notes

As Operation Epic Fury enters its third week, the Pentagon is preparing to request supplemental funding from Congress—with some reports suggesting the ask will exceed $200 billion. While Speaker Mike Johnson argues that the Department of War must be adequately funded, he is facing pushback from both sides of the aisle. Shannon Bream, anchor of FOX News Sunday, joins The Rundown to discuss why the Trump administration views this funding as a strategic necessity—not only for the mission in Iran but to address munitions concerns. Plus, Shannon weighs in on the political clashes over fluctuating oil prices, Senator Markwayne Mullin's nomination to be the next Homeland Security Secretary, and the impact of the ongoing partial government shutdown.

She joins The Rundown to discuss her personal connection to the issue and what lawmakers are calling for to support those struggling with addiction.

True Change In The Mideast Could Hinge On Regime Change In Iran Mar 18, 2026

Israel takes out multiple high level members of the Iranian regime including Iran’s Minister of Intelligence, Esmaeil Khatib. Khatib was responsible for overseeing Iran’s entire global terror apparatus, including sleeper cells in locations around the world. Meanwhile, Iran targeted Tel Aviv in what it said was retaliation for Israel's assassination of Iran's security chief Ali Larijani.

FOX’s Eben Brown speaks with Amb. Danny Ayalon, former Israeli Ambassador to the United states and the Chairman of the Silver Road Capital Group, who says true change in the Middle East hinges on the tyrannical Iranian regime being deposed.

The Senate has overwhelmingly passed a bipartisan bill aimed at limiting large institutional investors from buying up single-family homes. Supporters argue the move will make homeownership more affordable for younger Americans, while critics contend it won't solve the broader housing crisis. FOX Business Network anchor Gerri Willis joins the Rundown to discuss what this could mean for the market if it becomes law, current housing trends, and how rising energy costs are impacting the industry.

GOP Pushes To Strip Citizenship From Terrorists Mar 16, 2026
    Show notes

There is a new push by President Trump and GOP lawmakers to strip the citizenship of people who commit fraud, serious felonies or join or supply support to terrorist organizations. The 'Stop Citizenship Abuse and Misrepresentation (SCAM) Act', introduced by Sen. Schmitt (R-MO) and Rep. Emmer (R-MN), would facilitate the denaturalization of individuals who commit serious crimes. The call for this new legislation comes after one naturalized citizen, originally from Lebanon, allegedly rammed his vehicle into a Michigan synagogue and another naturalized citizen, originally from Sierra Leone, allegedly opened fire at Old Dominion University, killing one, in separate incidents that happened on the same day this month.

FOX’s Eben Brown speaks with Gene Hamilton, the Executive Director/Vice President of America First Legal, and former Senior Counselor to the Secretary of Homeland Security and top aide to the DOJ, who explains how the naturalization process, and denaturalization process, can be reformed to better protect us.
