Extra: Karl Rove’s Midterm Warning for the GOP & President Trump Aug 23, 2026
    Show notes

We’re less than 75 days away from the midterm elections that will determine who controls the House and Senate. Recent primary outcomes and shifting political dynamics have turned six Senate races into toss-ups, according to the latest FOX News Power Rankings.

Earlier this week on the FOX News Rundown, host Dave Anthony spoke with FOX News Contributor and former White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove about the battleground landscape and some of the high-stakes contests, including those in Alaska, Texas, and Michigan.

Rove explains how far-left candidates succeeding in key primaries and shifting voter demographics could impact the outcome in November.

Finally, Rove—the architect of former President George W. Bush's gubernatorial and presidential campaigns—also discusses what he thinks the GOP should do in the closing months and what former President Trump should do—and not do—to help his party.

We often have to cut interviews short during the week, but we thought you might like to hear the full conversation.

Today on the Fox News Rundown Extra, we share our entire interview with Karl Rove.

Extra: Where’s the Beef? The Real Reasons Behind Skyrocketing Prices Aug 22, 2026
    Show notes

To help bring down high beef prices, President Trump announced plans to boost imports by temporarily allowing up to 300,000 metric tons of ground beef into the U.S. tariff-free. Soaring costs for burgers, steaks, and other products stem from persistent inflation and a nationwide cattle shortage—pressures further compounded by major industry shifts, including Tyson Foods closing facilities in Illinois and Utah and selling a location in Washington.

Before the President’s announcement, FOX News Rundown host Jessica Rosenthal spoke with Nate Rempe, President and CEO of Omaha Steaks, and Steve Lucie, a fifth-generation farmer in Illinois. They discussed the cattle shortage, pressures on the industry, and Tyson Foods—one of the "Big Four" meatpacking companies—ending operations at its Joslin, Illinois beef facility and its Eagle Mountain, Utah case-ready facility, as well as selling a facility in Pasco, Washington.

Both guests share their perspectives on the challenges facing the beef industry and what they say can be done to help consumers and producers alike.

We often have to cut interviews short during the week, but we thought you might like to hear them in full. Today on the Fox News Rundown Extra, we share our complete conversations with Omaha Steaks' Nate Rempe and cattle rancher Steve Lucie as they dive deeper into why beef costs so much.
