From there, MFR shares what he's heard from some people who have actually watched Aquaman! Find out what they're saying (and what they're comparing it to!), and while on the topic of DC he also shares some new insight into the Henry Cavill/Superman situation, and when we should expect some casting news about Birds of Prey and The Batman.

FANBOY #66: "Cavill's Game of Poker, Batman Bits, The Spider-Man Deal, and Way More!" Jul 20, 2018
    Show notes

After an unexpected hiatus, The Fanboy Podcast returns with its 66th episode! Host, and Revenge of The Fans Editor-in-Chief, Mario-Francisco Robles opens the sure with his closing statements on yesterday's big Wall Street Journal feature on the Snyder Cut of Justice League. From there, he talks about Henry Cavill and the state of his negotiations with Warner Bros. over his future as Superman. Next on the docket are all of the different little happenings and whispers are Batman-centric films like The Batman, Joker, and the various Harley Quinn films on the horizon.

MFR then shifts gear and shares some new insights he's been given into the parameters of Marvel's deal with Sony and what it means for Spider-Man, the MCU, and those Spidey Spin-Offs they've got on the way, like Venom, Silver and Black, abd Morbius. Find out the corner Disney/Marvel backed itself into with this deal, and why Sony has the potential to laugh all the way to the bank while the Mouse House has plenty to lose.

Next on the agenda for this week's The Fanboy Podcast are MFR's thoughts on the first trailer for Titans, the new series expected to launch alongside the release of the DC Universe streaming service.

FANBOY #65: "The Age of Heroes Is Now, Sony's Sneaky Spider-Man Plans, And DC Adapting Donner" Jun 29, 2018
    Show notes

On the 65th edition of The Fanboy Podcast (formerly the El Fanboy Podcast) host and Revenge of The Fans Editor-In-Chief Mario-Francisco Robles discusses several important topics. He opens with an explanation for the show's revised name and where he hopes to take the podcast moving forward, but then segues into some revised thoughts and insights that came to him on his second rewatch of Justice League.

That leads into a discussion about the importance of these seemingly trivial superhero movies.

From there, he turns his attention towards all of the bananas stuff coming out of Sony lately. From their ambitious SDCC plans, to the way they seem to be doubling down on their expanded Spider-Verse, and what he thinks it all means. One thing's for certain: With Venom, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, Morbius (!!!), Silver & Black, and seemingly more on the way...Sony's Marvel efforts aren't going anywhere (and that may have been their plan all along).

Find out why it's a Win-Win for Sony, and a Win-Lose for Disney.

Then The Fanboy shifts its focus over to The Batman, the streaming DC Universe service, and some recent comments from Marvel Studios honcho Kevin Feige about how DC should use Richard Donner's Superman: The Movie as its touchstone moving forward.
