    (26:41 - 30:31) - Morning Checkdown

(30:32 - 46:10) - Former Indianapolis Colt Edgerrin James joins the show to give his take on the Jonathan Taylor situation. James argues that valuing your running game only makes the rest of the team stronger. In a lot of ways, the stronger your running game the better a team's passing game can become. He talks about his training program and why he'd choose to train in hotter weather to maintain better shape for the regular season. Training with college students in order to continue to raise his game and being closer to his family. Training camp always gave James a boost in energy. Jake asks about James's impression of Anthony Richardson. He believes that Richardson has the ability to become a complete player and has all the tools around him necessary to excel.

(46:11 - 1:12:59) - Videos of Shaquille Leonard working out have been shared on social media. He posted a video of himself on Instagram yesterday running shuttle drills. He has only played a handful of minutes since a misdiagnosed ankle problem last season, where the root of the problem was actually nerves in his back. If you were in the NFL where would you do your offseason training? Jake gets the Super Mario Bros. lore explained to him by Marc.

After a joint rant with Jake about the disasters of printing, Taylor gives some great insight into what goes into game prep for a broadcaster. Taylor digs into the Anthony Richardson contract situation. He feels confident that the issue with the contract must be minor given all the rules the NFL already has on rookie pay. The most interesting story for the Colts outside of Anthony Richardson and Shaquille Leonard is the team's cornerback situation. Taylor talks about the different confidence levels of players going into the 2023 season. Do Colt's players get injured more often than other teams, and does the turf surface have anything to do with it? Some of Taylor's favorite Edgerrin James memories.

    (2:02:33 - 2:08:59) - Pop Quiz

(2:09:00 - 2:20:38) - The show closes out with Kyle Cummins of the USAC racing series talking with Jake and Marc. Show notes

(00:00 - 22:46) - Courtside Indiana's Jim Reamer joins the program to discuss Flory Bidunga's announcement of his final four schools. Jake has a feeling that his list of schools may not actually be finalized yet, but Reamer believes that the way Bidunga has handled the process so far that it is likely the truth. Bidunga's IU trip might have been cancelled. The conversation changes to NIL and how far of a reach does the concept have in college recruitment now. Reamer states NIL has grown so much it might have branched out of just being seen for Division 1 athletes. The positives and negatives of NIL in high-school recruitment now.

(22:47 - 55:22) - Bob Kravitz comes on to the show, he just recently experienced a long travel day being stranded in Newark International Airport due to poor weather. Apparently two glasses of wine is $40+ in the airport. Kravitz announces that he is going to begin a Substack service where he writes whatever articles he wants. An extensive conversation about the recent job shake up in the Indianapolis media market. Is Jonathan Taylor becoming antiquated in the NFL? Kravitz believes that Jonathan Taylor would have been a top draft pick and top paid player 20 years ago, but the league has just changed since then. Kickers make a higher yearly salary than running backs. The Colts might be willing to just let Jonathan Taylor sit out training camp. Running backs across the league are all upset. Is Shaquille Leonard becoming the next Andrew Luck situation with his injury history?

Tuesday 7/18 - Jonathan Taylor Contract Talks, Flory Bidunga Narrows His School Choices, Jim Reamer and Bob Kravitz Join The Show Jul 18, 2023
    Show notes

00:00 - 26:54) - The Tuesday edition of Kevin & Query gets underway with talk about Jonathan Taylor's contract situation. Multiple NFL runningbacks are aware that their team is not looking to lock them down going forward. Flory Bidunga, one of Indiana's best high-school basketball players in Kokomo announced his top four schools: Auburn, Michigan, Kansas, Duke. Bidunga claims he will still be looking at Indiana schools before committing. Marc tells a temp tattoo story. Jake wants to save farm animals. Martin Truex Jr. won that NASCAR race in Loudon, New Hampshire.

    (26:55 - 30:15) - Morning Checkdown

(30:16 - 42:48) - More Jonathan Taylor talk on contact negotiations. A conversation on how other players are treated in contract negotiations and by the press.

(42-49 - 1:08:04) - Courtside Indiana's Jim Reamer joins the program to discuss Flory Bidunga's announcement of his final four schools. Reamer states NIL has grown so much it might have branched out of just beeing seen for Division 1 athletes. The positives and negatives of NIL in high-school recruitment now.

(1:08:05 - 1:27:11) - Audio from the Colts veteran mini-camp, Jonathan Taylor speaks on how runningbacks should be viewed in contract negotiations. Taylor clearly still wants to be the featured back on this Colts offense, but the league is so oversaturated that room may no longer be there. Now with so many quarterbacks running as much as they pass do teams not value the runningback as much knowing they have a QB that can pick up the slack as well? Colts are experts at wrapping players up in valuable positions with weird contracts.

(1:27:12 - 1:29:37) - Indiana State Fair ticket give away.

(1:29:38 - 2:03:04) - Bob Kravitz comes on to the show, he just recently experienced a long travel day being stranded in Newark International Airport due to poor weather. Apparently two glasses of wine is $40+ in the airport. Kravitz announces that he is going to begin a Substack service where he writes whatever articles he wants. (2:03:05 - 2:08:55) - Pop Quiz

(2:08:56 - 2:20:00) - Since Indianapolis is in a slow period for professional sports right now, the guys mull over some sports futures bets for the upcoming seasons. Including Anthony Richardson passing yards, Michael Pittman Jr. receiving yards, and Jonathan Taylor rushing yards.
