San Diego Comic-Con. On July 22, the cast and crew of Star Trek: Discovery gathered at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) to share what they have been working on for more than a year. The Edge's own Aaron Harvey had a front-row seat to the highly anticipated event.

When the first new Star Trek show in more than a decade was announced, the first question many people asked was who would be responsible for bringing the franchise back to television. Over the past year, that question has been answered as a roster of top-tier talent was introduced bit by bit, both behind and in front of the camera. This crew covers the creative spectrum from veterans who have worked on all aspects of Trek's past to rookies who have grown up with the franchise as fans but never worked on it.

Harry Mudd and Sarek. Setting Star Trek: Discovery ten years prior to The Original Series offers a unique opportunity to include characters from that era. The first two we know of are Harry Mudd—who has made three appearance in Star Trek—and Sarek, whose seven appearances only scratch the surface of his important in Trek lore.
