Dr. Jo Anne Lyon was the first woman leader of her 110 country denomination! Sep 13, 2026

She was horrified at the war crimes occurring in an out of the way West African nation. To raise awareness of the need she got on a plane and trusted God to provide the help she would need. God multiplied her story in the Washington Post newspaper and moved the heart of an American President to send help!

The new believers had been taught both Good News and bad news. The result, even after 25 years, was encouraging and discouraging. Eve had been blamed as a Temptress. Adam had been elevated as a ruler. Village women were treated no better than the barnyard goats!

Our Old Testament professor, mentor and friend Dr. Walter C. Kaiser, Jr., tells the story of ONE TWIN WHO KNOCKED OUT HIS BROTHER DURING A SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON and what happened to the boy who saw it!

Author of 100 commentaries, theological texts and stories, in addition to teaching Old Testament Dr. Kaiser led two seminaries: Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and later Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He has been involved in youth ministry, church planting, Bible translation work around the world and much more.

We thank God for his impact on our own lives and for his favorite saying, "Keep your finger on the text."

They "inspired hearts and woke up the church." So said Dr. Haddad in presenting Joy and Bruce Fleming, as a couple, with the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.

The backstory? When Joy first read them as a girl THE VERSES ON EVE AND ADAM in the English translations seemed to NOT FIT with the whole of Scripture. She prayed and asked God to teach her about them when she had the opportunity. In France, doing doctoral research, she looked deeper into those Hebrew words in Genesis 2-3. What she found she reported in her book MAN AND WOMAN IN BIBLICAL UNITY. She and Bruce have worked tirelessly to spread the positive insights of Eden ever since!
