Malpractice insurance. Two words that may sound boring but are incredibly important for every doctor and trainee to know about. There are certain things that we have in place to protect our career (and finances) and HOPE that we never have to use it. But unfortunatley, many doctors do.

About 1 in 3 doctors are sued in their career. 1 in 3!!!

Those are not odds that you want to bet on. It's important to know how to protect yourself and it starts with knowing what's in your physician contract.

What even is malpractice insurance?
What are the types that you need to know?
Which is the "good" one and which is the "not so great" one? (You need to know the difference before you sign the contract!)
What you should look for in your own physician contract and why this simple act could literally save you thousands of dollars!

Dr. Ebere Sonoiki spent years going down the path of research working towards a PhD while pushing to the side an "itch" to go to medical school. Why? Fear, more time spent in school, concerns over student loans, the MCAT... Only to find herself years later scratching that itch in her 40s. She ended up going back to her passion and she took a "risk". And now, she's a medical student in her 40s.

Dr. Brittney Culp is a busy trauma surgeon who started out her medical career aspiring to be a dermatologist. She traded in a "comfortable", low stress career for an unpredictable, BUSY, and hectic career in trauma surgery.

She did the research. Put in the MANY years of training. And sacrificed left and right.

But, she eventually reached a breaking point and almost QUIT.

Dr. Culp candidly shares why she almost left medicine and why she decided to stay.

Surgeons do have emotions.
It's okay to feel overwhelmed.
Realizing when you've reached your limit...
