    Episode Sixty-three - Shout Factory's Garson Foos May 25, 2017
    Show notes

The Gang visits Shout! Factory World Headquarters in Los Angeles, sitting down with President and Co-founder Garson Foos. In case you’ve been living under a rock, Shout! is the home video and music company helping Joel Hodgson bring back “Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return.” Meanwhile, Kate yearns for a Jo Co Cruise with Jonathan Coulton, and celebrates Bill Nye’s new science show. Ryan and Greg dissect “The Running Man,” a perfectly decent Stephen King novella butchered into one of the lesser action flicks of Arnold Schwarzenegger. And everyone tries to figure out who decided to let Guy Ritchie direct “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Then it’s time to talk shop and drink Earp’s Sarsaparilla with Garson. Kate and Greg take A Very Adamant Stance against Ryan’s sanity, and indulge in one penguin callback too many. In Reviewers in the MST, James and Ron don some plaid and knock over some cardboard boxes while contemplating “Future War.” All this plus Tony the Tiger quietly yearning to mix it up a little with some healthy flax seed granola and goji berries, on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! (This podcast does not represent Alternaversal, Shout Factory or the Kickstarter campaign in any official capacity). EDITOR’S NOTE: In June 2019, this podcast merged with the Damn Dirty Geeks Podcast and became The Damn Dirty Drive-in. These are our classic back catalog episodes, dating back to March 2016. Episode Sixty-two - Harold Buchholz May 17, 2017
    Show notes

This week’s interview is Harold Buchholz, president of Alternaversal (Joel Hodgson’s new production company), as well as executive producer of “MST3K: The Return.” Harold reminisces about the Kickstarter campaign and making of season 11, and hints at the show’s future. Kate talks about the alt rock nerd band, Ludo, yowling house kitties’ midnight serenades, as well as how Cretaceous triceratops may have consumed that key ingredient in beer, the hops plant. Then the gang jumps feet-first into the murky waters of the incomprehensible Thai flick, “Crocodile Fury.” (A movie so bad, Ryan feigns illness to get out of watching the last thirty minutes). And Greg frolics with the snow leopards and chiru, while reviewing Disney Nature’s “Born in China.” Everyone samples Fitz’s Cardinal Cream (St. Louis’s version of Big Red), and finds their thirst sadly unrequited. In the first installment of “Children’s Movies That Scar Us For Life,” Ryan and Kate shudder at the nightmarish cartoons of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” And in Reviewers in the MST, James and Ron don some plaid and knock over some cardboard boxes while contemplating “Future War,”All this (plus Bonnie Tyler’s ill-thought out “B side” follow up on her album, Faster Than The Speed of Night, “Total Eclipse of the Pancreas”), on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! Episode Sixty-one - Zach Thompson May 10, 2017
    Show notes

The podcast gang goes toe to toe with the jovial Zach Thompson, who plays Bonehead #2, the short and skeletal henchman in “MST3K: The Return.” Much to Ryan’s delight, Zach suggests that fans of Greg Tally should call themselves “Tallywhackers.” Meanwhile, Kate justifiably explains why female dragonflies fake their own deaths to avoid annoying males. And Ryan rails against the Christopher Reeve/Richard Pryor cinematic debacle, “Superman III,” while Greg can’t stop seeing the latest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 2.” A freezing accident and shattered bottleneck nearly leave Ryan sucking down glass shards rather than Orca Beverage Company’s Mr. Cola. And Kate and Ryan dry heave when Greg reveals his undying love for that bonneted beauty on the tiny raisin box, the Sun Maid. In Reviewers in the MSTie, James and Ron go spelunking into the movie depths with “Cave Dwellers.” All this and an agoraphobic Domino’s Pizza Noid who is frankly grateful for all the avoiding, on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! Episode Sixty - Tim Ryder May 03, 2017
    Show notes

He's tall! He's bony! He's a hench! He's the talented Tim Ryder, writer and improvisational actor out of Chicago, and part of the new season of "Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return." The podcast gang talks with Tim for their long-form interview. Greg, Kate and Ryan ponder drunken crayfish, and the scientists who make them that way. Then it's off for a raucous discussion of the Hong Kong tokusatsu flick, "The Super Inframan," a hallucinogenic rubber-monster mess that actually influenced the new season of MST3K. Greg recommends everyone see the body-switching anime romance, "Your Name." Meanwhile, in the Mini Soda Review, Frostie Orange Soda fails to wow the gang. But Kate and Greg overcome their boredom by sadistically gaslighting Ryan in A Very Adamant Stance. And in Reviewers in The MST, James and Ron tackle The MST3K Movie itself with "This Island Earth." All this and a band of scrappy kids braving a booby-trapped cave to find pirate treasure while being chased by bumbling gangsters, on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! Ryan, Greg, and Kate discuss the Anne Hathaway kaiju vehicle "Colossal," as well as the latest Rifftrax live event, "Samurai Cop." Then it's time for a weighty discussion on the importance of clean driveways with Felicia Day. The gang embrace their inner Sadie Hawkinses and sample the syrupy moonshine knockoff Kickapoo Joy Juice Fruit Shine Red Sangria. And Ryan's Very Adamant Stance goes horribly awry when Kate and Greg reveal their hands as frenemies. All this and Don Knotts wistfully wishing he was a fish, on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! (This podcast does not represent Alternaversal, Shout Factory or the Kickstarter campaign in any official capacity). Bill talks about the current slate of RiffTrax live shows (including Samurai Cop, playing tomorrow at theaters everywhere!), as well as how RiffTrax got off the ground. Plus, he chats about getting the job at Best Brains, what it was like to take over as Crow after the departure of Trace Beaulieu, and the development of Brain Guy. Meanwhile, Greg talks at length about a German comedy, but Kate and Ryan doubt such a thing exists. Kate theorizes about what makes a good cover song, and Ryan seems to have a very specific plan in the event he's forced to resort to cannibalism. Plus, James reviews "The Giant Gila Monster." All this and an owl who screams in a human voice, on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! (This podcast does not represent Alternaversal, Shout Factory or the Kickstarter campaign in any official capacity).
