Show notes

Russia is developing a space-based nuclear weapon that “the United States does not have the ability to counter,” according to the New York Times. Show notes

Americans are spending more on Valentine’s Day this year than ever before—a record $25.8 billion. Paradoxically, today is also Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Combining the two days feels a little like holding a birthday party and a funeral at the same time. The one is filled with romance, dining, and chocolates; the other connotes fasting, deprivation, and discipline. In actuality, the two are essential to each other in ways that are transformative for our souls and our culture.

Christians in Super Bowl LVIII: What Brock Purdy and Harrison Butker have in common Feb 09, 2024

Show notes

While you may not need another reason to watch this Sunday’s Super Bowl, I find the game more fun when I know a bit more about the players deciding its outcome. In particular, I like knowing which players are Christians and, it turns out, there are quite a few on both sidelines. There were two testimonies in particular, though, that stood out, and there’s a powerful lesson in their stories for all of us today.
