Former New Age Guru Doreen Virtue Divulges Dangers of Practicing Yoga and Eastern Meditation Aug 11, 2022

Show notes

The New Age is a “spiritual buffet” that merges facets of mysticism, Native American spirituality, Roman Catholicism, polytheism and countless other practices. Doreen Virtue is a former famous psychic medium and New Age guru who made and spent millions encouraging people to trust in themselves and channel angels and deities to live their best lives. Doreen came to Christ in 2017 and immediately left the New Age and now gives key examples of the dangerous demonic influences behind popular trends like yoga. Doreen also says that many well-meaning people end up getting hooked into the New Age deception for innocent reasons like health and wellness, but reminds us that the New Age religion is a progressive disease that eventually takes us to a deep level of depravity.

TAKEAWAYS

Doreen previously made appearances on shows like Oprah and The View when she was a practicing New Age guru.
Common New Age dangers include crystal healing, the Enneagram, essential oils, angel worship, and automatic writing.
Yoga is about glorifying the self - it is predominantly a narcissistic act rooted in Eastern mysticism.
Her book, Deceived No More: How Jesus Led me out of the New Age and into His Word, tells of her life-changing journey.

From Psychic to Saved, Jenn Nizza Talks Tarot Cards, Manifesting, and Channeling Aug 10, 2022

Show notes

Jenn Nizza is a former psychic medium who gave her life to Jesus Christ nine years ago. She’s on fire sharing her story about walking away from channeling evil spirits and taking up her cross and following the Lord. She warns about tarot cards being nothing more than demonic channeling allowing psychics to literally converse with demons. Jenn also shares insight into why demonic spirits are able to supply shockingly accurate information to humans. They are fallen angels, she explains, and they watch and study mankind. If you consult a psychic, you are being drawn away from God, inviting demonic oppression into your house, and opening yourself up to spiritual attacks. Jenn encourages everyone to remove all vestiges of witchcraft and divination from their homes.

TAKEAWAYS

Today’s youth are obsessed with “manifesting” their ideal lives, which is a New Age method of divination.
Supernaturally gifted children are demonically oppressed.
Psychic mediums aren’t actually helping people; they are leading people away from God.
Jenn has authored an incredible book, From Psychic to Saved.

Ex-Astrologist Marcia Montenegro Dishes on the Dangers of Divination and New Age Gnosticism Aug 09, 2022

Show notes

Marcia Montenegro became interested in the supernatural realm when she was just a teenager. Her journey into spiritualism evolved into a fascination with divination, occultism, and ultimately, astrology. Today, Marcia strongly warns Christians against getting involved with New Age Gnosticism, Ouija boards, fortune telling, and the Enneagram through her ministry Christian Answers for the New Age. These things, Marcia shares, are simply man’s way of looking to the creation rather than the Creator to gain knowledge and wisdom. Marcia additionally reveals red flags to look for when considering New Age self-help books, and points out that the word “holistic” can even be a gateway to New Thought principles that are rooted in occult spirituality and pseudoscience.

TAKEAWAYS

First Lady Nancy Reagan had an astrologer during her time in the White House and swayed Ronald’s decisions while he was president.
The Bible warns believers against practicing astrology and partaking in any type of divination or witchcraft.
The Enneagram has unfortunately been widely embraced by the modern American church.
Marcia has authored two must-read books, Spellbound and Richard Rohr and the Enneagram Secret.

Decoding the Prodigal Child Epidemic with Psychologist Dr. Doug Weiss Jul 29, 2022

Show notes

Prodigal children are everywhere, but you are not to blame. Raising children to become like Christ, does not absolve parents from the chance that they may someday have a son or daughter who goes astray. Dr. Doug Weiss is the author of Prodigal Parent Process, a book and DVD series that provide support and wisdom for parents of prodigals. God gives free will to each child, Dr. Weiss shares, which means even the most perfect parent can end up with a kid who rejects Christ. Parents can be freed from the guilt and shame and protect their marriage when a child breaks their heart. This Christian psychologist reveals it’s not about trying to bring a prodigal home, but about processing what happened and understanding that we don’t have control over our child’s actions.

TAKEAWAYS

God gave humans free will, which throws out all the laws of cause and effect in parenting.
Pray that Jesus will arrange circumstances for your prodigal child to meet other Godly people who will draw them back to Him.
Parents are not responsible for the choices of their prodigal children.
Siblings of prodigal children need love and space to process their feelings of hurt and anger caused by wayward brothers or sisters
