Making of the Sunny Pilot

Bouncing Bombs / Always Sunny Dec 03, 2020

Show notes

Bomb's away and Seinfeld on crack! In this episode's off-topic section, Josh discusses a video he discovered on facebook (that's only on facebook) posted by Dark Facts from Dark5. Apparently spinning, bouncing bombs were engineered during WWII to bust German dams with Operation Chastise. Although the mission was not exactly a success, it was... kind of a success? Then Brett finds humor in one of the greatest cult hits on television. In fact, 'Always Sunny' is about to break the record as the longest running live-action comedy series in history with the upcoming 15th season. This cringey, taboo-tackling humor may not be for everyone... but it is for us. And maybe for you too?

Amazing Jumping Sun Dog Crown Flash

Sun Dogs / SCP Foundation Nov 26, 2020

Show notes

In this episode's off-topic section, Brett shares a classic viral video with Josh titled "Amazing Jumping Sun Dog Crown Flash." If you have never been lucky enough to witness this rare weather phenomenon (and even if you have!) it is worth a watch. Josh then finds himself neck deep in government documents... but not the boring kind. In fact, he recently discovered a whole world of collaborative "crowd-sourced" fiction. Literally thousands of entries for... "objects" that require special containment procedures. If you haven't heard of the fictional organization The SCP Foundation (or even if you have!) this is one episode you don't want to miss. And definitely check out the links below!

Most Dangerous Race in the World

Isle of Man / A Quiet Place Nov 19, 2020

Show notes

In this episode's off-topic section, Josh talks about the "most dangerous race in the world," the Isle of Man TT. It is definitely worth checking out our off-top links below to watch these intense motorsport participants fly (literally at moments) around the track reaching speeds in excess of 200 mph. Brett then tries to bring some post-halloween spook into November (because he kind of missed his favorite holiday) with a horror sci-fi film set in a 2020 world that requires near ABSOLUTE SILENCE. (Shit! Did I type that too loud?)

Back in the Cockpit / Mystery Content Nov 12, 2020

Show notes

In this episode's off-topic section, Brett talks about what he's been doing the last two weeks and really, the last two years. (Spoiler alert: he wasn't just taking a soak in Brett-juice.) It's actually a really personal story about overcoming personal problems and a huge career mistake. Josh then leaves it up to Brett to choose the content piece. It's mystery content! Don't spoil the surprise by clicking the content link below...
