Goodfellas (1990) Jan 18, 2023

Show notes

Ever since we were kids we wanted to do a podcast about a gangster.. Goodfellas is revered as maybe the most quintessential gangster mafia spectacle since its inception. Does the Martin Scorsese staple still hold as an instant classic? Or did it mouth off too much and earn a place at the bottom, sleepin’ with the fishes? You think we’re funny? Funny how?

Mallrats (1995) Jan 11, 2023

Show notes

Say, would you like a chocolate pretzel?? Kevin Smith’s second film in the View Askewniverse, Mallrats, taught us the importance of being up 12-2 in the 2nd period, the meaning of callow, and that the back of a Volkswagen is no place to make Whoopi.. or something like that. Does Kevin’s Smiths signature dialogue come through? Are Jay and Silent Bob always the best part of these movies? Will Willam ever see the schooner? SNOOCHIE BOOCHIES!

The Thing (1982) Jan 04, 2023

Show notes

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s… The Thing! In 1982, John Carpenter gave us a reimagined version of a 1950’s original. We can survive the Antarctic winter as long as we’ve got each other, right? At least until each other isn’t who they appear to be! It’s a movie that raises more questions than Jeopardy. So grab your prospectors hat, a fresh bottle of J&B scotch, and your trusty flame thrower! Cause trust is a hard thing to come by these days. U.S. outpost 31 Antarctica: Out.
