RUDY REYES | OUT OF THE DARKNESS COMES THE LIGHT Sep 15, 2020
    Show notes

This week I am honoured and excited to bring you this truly fascinating, motivational and energy-packed episode with the inspiring, open and honest Rudy Reyes.

As an orphan from South Texas, Rudy was raised in Kansas City and the Omaha Home for Boys. He practised discipline in Martial Arts and Illustration to overcome poverty and later raise His little Brothers.

That refining of character and motivation to fight for others who needed protection led Rudy into the Marine Corps in the 90s, and after going through an arduous selection process to join the Elite of the Elite, Rudy became a Reconnaissance Marine which is only achieved by 300 out of 300,000 US Marines.

Fighting in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq, Rudy was discharged with Honors after his 2nd Enlistment and became a fitness coach. He then tactically advised and starred as himself in the Emmy award-winning HBO Mini-Series, “Generation Kill”.

This led to him working in film and TV to highlight Veteran Issues and Warrior Transition back into civilisation.

In 2015 Rudy Reyes Created Force Blue, A Veteran Non-Profit Utilizing Special Operations Veterans to rebuild Coral Reefs and do Ocean Conservation with a mission to Rebuild and Protect Our Oceans and Veterans of all Services.

This show is a rollercoaster that takes us all over the world, and in and out of the darker recesses of Rudy’s life experiences and back into the light in which he finds himself blessed with an incredible life that he shares with his fiance, having moved to Idaho recently. The conversation is highly entertaining, informative, inspirational, motivational and spiritual. I loved every minute of it. I hope you do too.

MONDAY MEDITATIONS | STOP FOCUSING ON WHAT YOU LACK Sep 14, 2020
    Show notes

How often do you find yourself thinking about what you lack in any given situation?

How often do you replay these experiences or thoughts in your head?

We wouldn't choose to flood our bodies with negative emotions and do it again and again.

So why do we do it with thoughts and memories?

The road to happiness is not found by focusing on what we aren't getting out of life. It is lined with gratitude and appreciation and a focus on the good.

MONDAY MEDITATIONS | It is easier to prepare your child for the world than prepare the world for them Sep 07, 2020
    Show notes

We all want the best for our kids. But how we go about this can look very different and have a huge impact on their ability to navigate through the twists and turns and bumps and bruises that life will inevitably bring their way. That is why I believe it is essential for us to put more energy into preparing our children for the realities of life and a world that is filled with struggles and disappointments, challenges and unpredictability, and less in banging our head against walls or swooping in and trying to bulldoze the road smooth for them.

ANTHONY WAITE | LEADING FROM THE INSIDE OUT Sep 01, 2020
    Show notes

Today I am honoured to welcome Anthony Waite on the podcast

Growing up without a prominent father figure, Anthony has witnessed first hand the significance that a man has in the success of a family and most importantly his legacy that is carried through his children. He believes that while it may not always be your fault, it is always your responsibility to break the cycle of emotional and physical poverty that may have been handed down to you.

As a husband, father, and Active Duty Naval Officer, he has committed his life to service before self and seeks to be an example for those he leads and those he loves. Today, you can find him speaking on stage to audiences ranging from elementary to executive-level leaders and interviewing his next guest on his hit podcast Whose Oar Is This.

Once again this conversation challenged and motivated me to become a better leader in the home and out in the world. I hope you find the same kind of inspiration.

MONDAY MEDITATIONS | ENLIGHTENING WRITING Aug 31, 2020
    Show notes

Through regular journal writing, you can learn so much about yourself, your areas of weakness, strengths and the ways you can move forward to be the husband, father and man you are capable of being. Starting and ending each day by writing in a journal is one of the most important things you can do to deal with your inner demons, develop character, get the most out of each day and live your best life.

Here are a few ideas that either work for me or might be helpful for you as you find your own sweet spot when it comes to journaling.
