Normally Podcast: Terror in the Cockpit? Plus Mamdani, the Cornell Case & Eric Schmitt’s Big Mistake Oct 01, 2026
    Show notes

Mary Katharine Ham and Karol Markowicz break down a wild week of news, starting with the midair attack aboard a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv. After an altercation between the pilots sent the aircraft into a rapid descent, passengers and crew intervened and the plane ultimately landed safely in Saudi Arabia.

Then, Mary Katharine and Karol turn to Britain, terrorism and immigration before examining Zohran Mamdani’s plan to combat antisemitism in New York City. Karol argues the proposal fails to adequately address attacks against Jewish New Yorkers, anti-Zionism and recent campus unrest.

Plus, they dig into the disturbing allegations surrounding a Cornell University fraternity case, the conflicting accounts at the center of the civil complaint, and why due process still matters even when the alleged conduct is deeply troubling.

Finally, Sen. Eric Schmitt’s questioning of former special counsel Jack Smith produces an extraordinarily uncomfortable Senate moment after Schmitt appears to get a key detail wrong—prompting Mary Katharine and Karol to break down what happened and the reaction in the hearing room.

The Karol Markowicz Show: ‘Unsafe at MIT’: Dr. Yossi Sheffi on Antisemitism, Jewish Students & Fighting Back Sep 30, 2026
    Show notes

Karol Markowicz sits down with Dr. Yossi Sheffi, MIT professor and author of Unsafe at MIT: A Chronicle of a Campus War on the Jews, for a candid conversation about antisemitism, campus activism and what Jewish students have experienced at one of America’s most prestigious universities.

Sheffi explains why he decided to document events at MIT, including interviews with roughly 50 students, and argues that although conditions on campus have improved, an undercurrent of antisemitism and harassment remains. He describes Jewish students being excluded from study groups and discusses why that can have a particularly serious impact in engineering programs built around collaborative work.

Karol and Sheffi also tackle a question facing Jewish parents: Should their children still attend elite universities where antisemitism has become a concern? Sheffi discusses alternatives, the difference between undergraduate and graduate education, and efforts by Jewish faculty and students to build stronger communities and academic partnerships.

Plus, Sheffi discusses the response he's received since publishing Unsafe at MIT, why he believes speaking out is worth the consequences, and the life philosophy that guides him: do the right thing regardless of whether people applaud or vilify you.

Daily Review with Clay and Buck - Sep 30 2026 Sep 30, 2026
    Show notes

Clay Travis and Buck Sexton devote extensive breaking-news coverage to the reported attempted hijacking and terrorist attack aboard a Dubai-to-Israel flight, focusing on reports that a co-pilot stabbed the captain and attempted to take control of an aircraft carrying roughly 180 passengers. The hosts discuss the plane’s dramatic loss of approximately 14,000 feet, the struggle inside the cockpit, and the actions that reportedly prevented the incident from becoming a mass-casualty disaster. They react to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s characterization of the incident as a jihadist terror attack and consider whether the timing, destination, proximity to Israeli airspace, and approaching anniversary of 9/11 could point to a deliberately planned attack. Clay and Buck also explore questions surrounding aviation security, pilot screening, cockpit access, terrorism, lone-wolf radicalization, sleeper cells, Al-Qaeda, ISIS, and airline operations into Israel, while emphasizing that information about the motive and circumstances was continuing to develop during the live broadcast.

Clay and Buck focus particularly on the wounded pilot who reportedly helped stop the alleged attacker, describing the intense physical struggle that could have unfolded inside the confined cockpit and praising the pilot, crew members, and others who intervened. A caller named Tim, a former airline pilot who flew Boeing 757 and 767 aircraft, joins the program to explain cockpit-door procedures and how cabin crew can request emergency access. He also recounts the 1994 FedEx Flight 705 attack, in which flight crew members fought an attacker inside the cockpit while the airplane was maneuvered aggressively in an effort to incapacitate him. The caller discusses post-9/11 cockpit self-defense training and the presence of emergency equipment such as a crash axe in the cockpit, providing Clay and Buck with additional context for how an extraordinary confrontation aboard an aircraft might unfold. The hosts underscore how narrowly catastrophe may have been avoided and return to the story of Flight 93 and Todd Beamer as examples of people taking action during an aviation emergency.

Clay and Buck continue breaking-news coverage of the reported attempted hijacking of a Flydubai flight bound for Israel, discussing reports that a pilot stabbed his co-pilot, took control of the aircraft and sent the plane into a rapid 14,000-foot descent before the wounded co-pilot and others aboard were able to regain access to the cockpit, subdue the alleged attacker and ultimately land the aircraft safely. The hosts note that the passengers subsequently continued their journey to Israel on another plane and turn their attention to the larger terrorism and national security implications. They discuss reports of five arrests in the United Kingdom and allegations of an Iranian connection to a separate potential terror plot, asking whether investigators will examine any possible links between the incidents. Drawing on Buck’s experience as a former CIA analyst, the conversation explores how intelligence agencies respond after a suspected terrorist attack, including examining digital communications, searching for accomplices or additional plots, determining whether attackers received outside direction and assessing the possibility of remotely coordinated terrorism. Clay and Buck emphasize that possible connections remained speculative as the story developed, while discussing the broader threat environment surrounding Iran, Israel, terrorism and the 25th anniversary year of the September 11 attacks.

Fox News anchor Trace Gallagher joins Clay and Buck for the hour’s featured interview to discuss his book, Turns Out They Were Right All Along: Life Lessons I Learned... Eventually, and the experiences that shaped his views on success, family and journalism. Gallagher recounts attending legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden’s basketball camp as a teenager after earning half the $500 cost himself. Expecting elite basketball instruction, Gallagher instead remembers Wooden teaching campers the seemingly mundane importance of correctly wearing two pairs of socks to prevent blisters. Gallagher explains that he eventually understood the lesson as an example of Wooden’s emphasis on fundamentals, preparation, discipline and controlling what you can control, principles that became increasingly meaningful as he grew older. Gallagher also describes the process of developing his book with HarperCollins and explains how personal stories became vehicles for larger life lessons.

    Hour 1 - Israel's "Let's Roll" Moment Sep 30, 2026
    Show notes

In Hour 1 of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton lead with breaking news surrounding an attempted hijacking and terrorist attack aboard an Israel-bound flight, as rapidly developing reports indicate that one pilot allegedly stabbed the other pilot and attempted to seize control of the aircraft. Clay and Buck follow the story in real time as additional details emerge, including accounts that passengers and crew members forced their way into the cockpit, subdued the alleged attacker, and helped prevent what could have become a mass-casualty attack involving roughly 200 people. They discuss reports that the aircraft entered a steep dive, dropping approximately 17,000 feet in under two minutes, before making an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, after distress signals were reported near the Saudi-Jordanian border. The hosts highlight the actions of the wounded pilot, passengers, crew members, and additional pilots aboard the aircraft who reportedly helped regain control and safely land the plane. They also react to comments from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel’s defense minister characterizing the episode as an attempted jihadist terrorist attack, while examining the extraordinary security vulnerability created when an airline pilot with authorized cockpit access becomes the alleged attacker. Clay and Buck compare the incident with the security lessons of 9/11 and Flight 93, discuss post-9/11 cockpit security procedures and airline background checks, and consider potential motives while emphasizing that the story and investigation are still developing.

Hour 1 expands the breaking-news discussion to encompass Israel, Gaza, terrorism, antisemitism, Middle East politics, airline security, radicalization, and American media coverage. Clay and Buck strongly reject accusations that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza and argue that extreme anti-Israel rhetoric can contribute to an environment conducive to radicalization. They discuss whether politicians who have embraced highly critical rhetoric toward Israel could face renewed scrutiny following the attempted attack. The hosts also criticize CNN and MSNBC for not providing the level of live coverage they believe the aviation story warrants, contrasting their approach with Fox News, which they note is interviewing passengers arriving in Israel. They debate how news organizations characterize suspected Islamist terrorism, criticize what they see as excessive caution or ambiguity in media language, and assess whether the incident could carry broader political implications in both the United States and Israel. As eyewitness information emerges, Clay and Buck repeatedly focus on the actions of the passengers, crew, wounded pilot, and others aboard the aircraft who reportedly confronted the alleged attacker and helped avert a potentially catastrophic outcome.

Earlier in Hour 1 of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show, the hosts devote significant attention to Iran, the Strait of Hormuz, global oil markets, energy prices, gasoline prices, diesel prices, and President Donald Trump’s Middle East strategy. Clay discusses reports indicating that oil exports from the Persian Gulf have climbed substantially toward their prewar levels despite Iran’s previous effort to disrupt traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. The hosts examine the volume of crude oil moving through the strait as well as alternative pipelines and ports, arguing that improving flows of Middle Eastern oil could eventually relieve pressure on global energy markets and American consumers. Buck discusses the Trump administration’s argument that its Iran strategy is producing results while noting the difference between expectations of a rapid resolution and the longer timetable that has unfolded. Clay argues that improvements in Strait of Hormuz oil traffic are receiving insufficient attention from major American news organizations and questions how quickly falling crude prices could translate into lower gasoline prices for consumers, especially with the 2026 midterm elections approaching and voting already underway in some states.

The energy conversation also turns to the Russia-Ukraine war, diesel fuel prices, and negotiations involving President Trump and Ukraine. Clay distinguishes the forces influencing diesel prices from the problems surrounding Iran and the Strait of Hormuz and references his recent conversation with President Trump about the war in Ukraine, saying Trump expressed optimism about the direction of negotiations. Buck examines the challenge of ending the Russia-Ukraine war through the concept of the sunk-cost fallacy, arguing that Russia’s enormous commitment of manpower and resources could make it more difficult for Moscow to accept a settlement without being able to demonstrate tangible gains. Clay and Buck connect the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East with broader American economic concerns, including crude oil prices, diesel and gasoline costs, inflationary pressures, voter perceptions of the Trump administration, and the potential consequences for Republicans in the 2026 midterm elections if overseas improvements do not translate quickly enough into lower costs for Americans. The program also briefly shifts into sports with discussion of Clay’s Atlanta Braves before returning to the breaking Israel-bound flight story.

Overall, Hour 1 of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show is dominated by breaking coverage of the attempted Israel-bound airplane hijacking and suspected terrorist attack, including the alleged cockpit assault, dramatic loss of altitude, emergency landing in Saudi Arabia, passenger and crew intervention, Benjamin Netanyahu’s response, airline and cockpit security, terrorism, radicalization, Israel and Gaza, antisemitism, and the hosts’ critique of American media coverage. The hour also features extensive analysis of Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, Middle East oil exports, global energy markets, gas and diesel prices, President Donald Trump’s foreign policy, the Russia-Ukraine war, Ukraine peace negotiations, inflation, and the potential impact of international events and energy costs on the 2026 midterm elections, making Hour 1 a wide-ranging combination of breaking news, national security, geopolitics, energy and economic analysis, media criticism, politics, and sports.

Hour 2 - Why Some Media Are Avoiding Hijack Story Sep 30, 2026
    Show notes

In Hour 2 of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton devote extensive breaking-news coverage to the reported attempted hijacking and terrorist attack aboard a Dubai-to-Israel flight, focusing on reports that a co-pilot stabbed the captain and attempted to take control of an aircraft carrying roughly 180 passengers.

The breaking aviation story leads to a broader discussion in Hour 2 about the history of pilot suicide, intentional airplane crashes, airline security vulnerabilities, and post-9/11 aviation safety. Clay references the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and previous incidents in which pilots were suspected or determined to have intentionally crashed aircraft. Buck recalls another deadly aviation case involving a suicidal pilot locking a colleague outside the cockpit. The hosts contrast those incidents with the reported attack on the Israel-bound flight and debate whether the aircraft’s sudden plunge could have been part of an attempt to crash it. They also raise the possibility that, had the alleged attacker retained control long enough to reach Israel, the aircraft itself could have been used as a weapon against people on the ground. Clay and Buck repeatedly compare the near-disaster with the lessons of September 11 and Flight 93, arguing that vigilance and immediate intervention by passengers and crew can remain critical when conventional security systems fail.

A major theme throughout Hour 2 of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show is the hosts’ criticism of CNN, MSNBC and The New York Times over their initial treatment of the Israel-bound flight story. Clay contrasts the description of the incident as an “altercation” between pilots with reports that one pilot stabbed another, while Buck argues that ideological considerations influence how major media organizations cover terrorism involving Israel and Islamist extremism. They discuss the larger debate surrounding Israel, Gaza, jihadist terrorism, anti-Israel sentiment, social media, TikTok, and younger Americans’ views of the Israel-Gaza conflict. Clay warns listeners about what he views as misleading anti-Israel content circulating through social media feeds, while Buck rejects accusations of genocide against Israel and argues that incendiary rhetoric can have real-world consequences. The hosts also recall the political controversy surrounding the media and Obama administration’s handling of the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack and question whether reluctance to describe terrorism explicitly could again influence American political perceptions shortly before an election.

The hosts briefly carry remarks from President Donald Trump at the White House, where the President announces that the last American forces are leaving Iraq. Trump characterizes America’s lengthy involvement in Iraq as a quagmire and praises Iraq’s new prime minister. Later in Hour 2, Clay asks Buck, who previously served in Iraq, for his assessment of what the U.S. troop withdrawal means for American veterans, Iraqi stability, and the future of the Middle East. Buck discusses Iranian influence inside Iraq, Shiite militias, Sunni-Shia tensions, Kataib Hezbollah, ISIS, Iraqi oil revenues, and the challenge of sustaining Iraqi democracy without an American military presence. He argues that the withdrawal marks a consequential test for Iraq, warning that Iranian-backed militias could destabilize the country while acknowledging that indefinite American deployments also carry substantial costs. The conversation examines whether the United States could eventually be pulled back into Iraq if sectarian warfare or terrorist organizations once again create a serious security crisis.

Hour 2 closes with a discussion of diesel fuel prices, global energy markets, oil refining, Russia, Ukraine, and Iran. A caller from Baton Rouge challenges Clay’s contention that the Russia-Ukraine war is contributing to elevated diesel prices, arguing that the geographic origin of crude oil is less important than how petroleum is refined. Clay responds by citing an AI-generated explanation pointing to refinery damage, Russian export restrictions, scarce spare refining capacity, and broader disruptions to internationally traded diesel supplies. Buck tries to reconcile the two arguments, agreeing that petroleum products ultimately trade through a global market while maintaining that disruptions affecting Russian and Iranian supply and refining capacity can still contribute to diesel price pressures. The exchange connects the ongoing wars in Russia-Ukraine and the Middle East with fuel supplies, refining capacity, energy markets, and consumer prices.

Overall, Hour 2 of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show is dominated by the breaking Dubai-to-Israel attempted hijacking and suspected terrorist attack, with detailed discussion of the cockpit struggle, the plane’s dramatic descent, the reported heroism of the wounded pilot and crew, airline security, 9/11, Flight 93, terrorism, Israel and Gaza, radicalization, and media coverage. The second hour also expands into President Donald Trump’s announcement of the final U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq, Iranian influence in Iraq, ISIS, Shiite militias, Middle East security, the Russia-Ukraine war, diesel prices, oil refining, and global energy markets, making Hour 2 a wide-ranging examination of breaking news, terrorism, national security, foreign policy, media bias, aviation safety, Iraq, Iran, Russia, Ukraine, and energy prices.

Hour 3 - Have Terror Cells Been Mobilized? Sep 30, 2026
    Show notes

In Hour 3 of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton continue breaking-news coverage of the reported attempted hijacking of a Flydubai flight bound for Israel, discussing reports that a pilot stabbed his co-pilot, took control of the aircraft and sent the plane into a rapid 14,000-foot descent before the wounded co-pilot and others aboard were able to regain access to the cockpit, subdue the alleged attacker and ultimately land the aircraft safely.

A major focus of Hour 3 is the hosts’ criticism of how American news organizations are covering the Israel-bound flight incident. Clay and Buck compare the approaches of Fox News, CNN and MSNBC/MS NOW, arguing that some outlets initially minimized the severity and possible ideological motivation of the alleged attack. They analyze headline wording, the use of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the attributed source for the terrorism characterization and what they view as overly cautious language surrounding the stabbing and attempted takeover of the aircraft. The discussion expands into media bias, Israel, antisemitism, radical Islamist terrorism, identity politics and Democratic Party politics, with Clay and Buck arguing that editorial decisions about which stories receive prominence can substantially shape what audiences know about current events. They also connect the developing terrorism story to Iran’s geopolitical position and the flow of oil and gas through the Strait of Hormuz, suggesting that mounting pressure on the Iranian regime makes the possibility of Iranian involvement in international plots an important question for intelligence agencies to investigate.

Hour 3 of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show then shifts to a more optimistic discussion of artificial intelligence, superintelligence, technology investment and American economic growth, centered on an AI-focused gathering at the White House attended by major technology and business executives. Clay and Buck play remarks from President Donald Trump, who argues that the United States holds a significant advantage over China and Europe in advanced AI and says winning the global competition over what he calls “superintelligence” will be crucial to America’s future. Trump also touts investment in automobile manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and other industries as evidence of broader U.S. economic expansion. Clay describes the White House technology gathering as an impressive collection of successful entrepreneurs and executives and says his growing exposure to emerging AI technology has made him increasingly optimistic about its potential. The hosts also discuss America.gov and the possibility of using technology and AI to simplify interactions with government. Buck uses the cumbersome process his wife faced when changing her name after marriage as an example of how a centralized digital service could reduce paperwork by coordinating tasks involving agencies such as Social Security and state motor-vehicle departments.

The Trace Gallagher interview takes a personal turn with the story of the blind date that eventually led to his marriage. Gallagher explains that longtime sports broadcaster Colin Cowherd, who worked with him in Las Vegas, helped set him up with the woman who would become his wife. Although both Gallagher and his future wife initially regarded the meeting as a disastrous date, they went out again, moved across the country together just two months later and ultimately built a marriage spanning more than three decades. Gallagher also discusses his family’s Irish heritage, including connections to Northern Ireland and Killarney, before reflecting on his early television career alongside Cowherd during the era of UNLV basketball and Andre Agassi in Las Vegas. He tells Clay and Buck that longevity in television journalism is exceptionally difficult because of ratings pressure, management changes and intense competition, contrasting that uncertainty with his eventual three-decade career at Fox News.

Gallagher also joins Clay and Buck’s substantive discussion of the breaking Israel-bound aviation attack and media coverage. He argues that American media organizations had access to much of the same information being reported by Israeli outlets but were choosing to frame the episode more cautiously. Gallagher contrasts that restraint with what he sees as media organizations moving much faster on politically damaging narratives in other circumstances, citing controversies involving Donald Trump, Russia collusion and other past political stories. The conversation broadens into the evolution of Fox News and American media, with Gallagher reflecting on the network’s approaching 30th anniversary and arguing that Fox fundamentally altered the television news landscape. Clay and Buck use the interview to continue their larger Hour 3 theme about how editorial choices, terminology and political assumptions influence breaking-news reporting, particularly when stories involve Israel and terrorism.

Finally, Hour 3 of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show closes on a lighter note with listener reaction to Buck’s proposed tennis matchup against Sean Hannity’s daughter, a former Division I college tennis player. A listener compares the hypothetical contest to the famous Billie Jean King-Bobby Riggs “Battle of the Sexes” tennis match, prompting Clay and Buck to debate Buck’s chances. Buck clarifies that he is not predicting a victory but believes he could at least make the match competitive, while acknowledging that Hannity’s Division I tennis-playing son would decisively beat him. Clay remains skeptical that Buck would fare particularly well against Hannity’s daughter, ending the program with sports banter and a preview of more discussion to come.

It's a Numbers Game: The 2028 Democrat Primary: Kamala, Ossoff, Pritzker, AOC & More Sep 30, 2026
    Show notes

Ryan Girdusky sits down with Nothing Left author Evan Barker for a wide-ranging conversation about the 2026 midterm elections, the battle for the U.S. Senate and the Democrats already positioning themselves for the 2028 presidential race.

Barker discusses Democratic confidence heading into the midterms and examines competitive Senate races in states including Kansas, Nebraska, Michigan and Georgia. The conversation also explores the appeal of economic populism, working-class voters and what could determine whether Democrats can make gains in traditionally Republican territory.

Then Ryan and Evan turn toward 2028: Is Kamala Harris preparing another presidential campaign? Could Jon Ossoff emerge as a national contender? Where do JB Pritzker, Rahm Emanuel, AOC and other potential candidates fit into a Democratic Party divided between progressive activists, traditional Democrats and working-class voters?

Barker also explains why he believes Harris could run again, while discussing the challenges she could face during a prolonged Democratic primary campaign.

Plus, Evan discusses his New York Times bestselling book Nothing Left and what his firsthand experience inside Democratic politics taught him about the direction of the party.

The Tudor Dixon Podcast: Inside Israel: Faith, the Holy Land & the Reality the Media Doesn’t Show Sep 30, 2026
    Show notes

Tudor Dixon takes listeners inside her transformational journey through Israel in this special edition of The Tudor Dixon Podcast.

At Magdala along the Sea of Galilee, Tudor sits down with Father Kelly for a deeply personal conversation about Christian faith, Mary Magdalene, forgiveness, humility, pilgrimage, and what it means to make room in our hearts for others. Tudor reflects on how walking through the Holy Land challenged her own perspective and reminded her to put her identity as a child of God ahead of the divisions of politics.

Then, Tudor travels to Jerusalem for a conversation with Michael Weiss, founder of Yalla Basta, about another side of Israel—the extraordinary mix of cultures, cuisines and communities that make up everyday life. Weiss describes Israel as a melting pot of roughly 70 culinary traditions and discusses coexistence between Jewish and Arab Israelis, the decline in tourism following October 7, and his perspective on the difference between international perceptions of Israel and what visitors experience on the ground.

From biblical history and Christian pilgrimage to food, culture and everyday life, Tudor shares why her first trip to Israel became an experience she believes every Christian should consider making for themselves.

David Rutherford Show: 7 Warning Signs Before Every US War Sep 30, 2026
    Show notes

David Rutherford says the U.S. is already at war, and walks through seven warning signs he says came before America's wars. In this solo episode, David, who says he spent much of his adult life in special operations and intelligence work, walks through seven warning signs he sees in the years before America's wars, and says he sees them again today. He says he is not predicting a war and that his list is not a definitive way to read history. He wants to give listeners more context for their own critical thinking.

    What you get:

    • David's account of the broken "no war" promises from Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt and Johnson.

    • Seven signs, each tied to history: World War I, World War II, Korea, September 11, and the present day.
    • David's view that the U.S. is already at war with Iran, backing Ukraine against Russia, and under economic strain at home.
    • What David says listeners can do: strengthen family and community, get offline, and push for in-person paper ballots.
