    Show notes

I remember my parents sign to parent conference night and the first thing they asked my teachers was "Como se esta portando?"
    Seriously???!!!
That is all my parents wanted to know. How I was behaving.
But its so understandable when being an immigrant parents to first generation students that they want to make sure we don't get in trouble with authority.
Our parents didn't know. But we have a duty now to our next generation. We strongly believe if " you know better you will do better"
This is our chance to show our community and this country that we are as intelligent and hard working. And all of this being with education....not in school but in the household!!!!
Join our conversation with Ana Lilia who has been in the school system for 17 years and lets us know what are the things we can do to make sure our sons, daughters, nephews and nieces have a better opportunity for success and get the most of our teachers.

We all work for our families and mostly for our children. But are we really?
We say we are but in really we work all day and someone else is raising them. Even worse maybe the IPAD and Youtube is raising them.
We have a special guest in todays podcast. Alessa Bautista who is Conrads daughter.
She opens up how it is to be 2nd generation born Mexican American and what is going on in the world of kids now that are being raised by their phones.
ITS SCARY!!!!! How much they know compared to our previous generations who didn't have WIFI to look up everything.
Listen to todays podcast and get insight from a 12 year old. Trust me she thinks like a 30 year old.

OMG!!! This is my pet peeve
You ask someone to show up at 1pm.....and they don't show until 3pm.
You ask someone who is already late "How far are you?" And they say "5 minutes away" when they haven't even left home.
    What is wrong with us?
Listen to this podcast how being on time if one of the best habits you can have for personal success but we keep sabotaging ourselves.
In this podcast you will learn my hack of staying in momentum and avoiding the trap of Mexican time.

Change the world by making your bed | Ep. #19 Jun 10, 2019
    Show notes

What if making your bed in the morning can change your life?
How you do the little things in life is how you do the big things.
In the military when they loose a battle and they investigate the reasons. The most common reasons why they lost is because they lost discipline in their personal life.
Thats why the military knows the importance of how you do the little things is how you do the big things.
Of course we are not dealing with peoples lives..but we are dealing with peoples livelihoods.
How does washing the dishes, washing the car, doing laundry, picking up your house and making your bed reflect in your life?

Congrats to our first ever 5 scholarship recipients. Si Se puede
Reading over 300+ applications for our scholarship was a privilege. Their stories were all different but the same. They had the theme of perseverance, hard work, sacrifice and a better opportunity of a better life.
We thought we were going to help at least 5 students with their expenses. But in the end over 300 applications ended up helping us.
If our flame was ever dying these 300 applications poured gasoline. Our fire is stronger than ever to help keep our culture and traditions alive
