Trump Trial: The Verdict Feb 15, 2021
    Show notes

Donald Trump's second impeachment trial is over. Seven Republicans voted against him, but still far short of the two-thirds needed to convict. Despite the acquittal, Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell slammed Trump for what he called a "disgraceful dereliction of duty," warning that the former president could still face repercussions in the courts. So what's next? Capitol Hill correspondent Abigail Robertson is on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

    Christian Nationalism Feb 12, 2021
    Show notes

The January 6th siege of the nation's Capitol put the spotlight on a political ideology known as "Christian Nationalism." Exhibited by the rioters waving Jesus flags and praying in the breached Senate chamber: these actions make the horror of the invasion even more troubling. So what exactly is Christian Nationalism? Reporter Heather Sells has been investigating and she's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown with what she found.

Migrants 'Hunting' Women, European Gov Doing Little to Help Feb 11, 2021
    Show notes

From London to Vienna to Stockholm, young migrant men, mostly from Muslim-majority countries, are targeting white women for sexual violence and harassment. European governments are doing little to stop the attacks or punish the perpetrators for fear of being labeled racist. Now some are warning that immigration and Islam are endangering women's rights and security across Europe. CBN International Correspondent George Thomas joins the Rundown with the details.

Religion And War: How an Islamic Prophecy Fuels Iran's Nuclear Weapons Threat Feb 10, 2021
    Show notes

Iran says it will aggressively push for a nuclear weapon if sanctions on its country are not lifted. The rare warning coming from Iran's intelligence minister who insists Iran's nuclear ambitions have always been for peaceful purposes but says that could now change if crippling international sanctions remain in place. The announcement comes days after President Biden said the U.S. will not lift sanctions against Iran unless the country stops enriching uranium. But as CBN News Middle East Bureau Chief Chris Mitchell explains a centuries-old Islamic prophecy could be what determines its nuclear weapons development and the final result--war.

Trump On Trial Feb 09, 2021
    Show notes

Solely responsible for the siege of the nation's Capitol: that's what Democrats want to prove about President Trump during his second impeachment trial, which began today. Trump's attorneys plan to use the Democrats' own words against them. The looming big question: Is the trial itself in line with the constitution? Capitol Hill correspondent Abigail Robertson previews what's ahead on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

From the Vault: Caring for the Least of These Feb 08, 2021
    Show notes

There's good news in the fight against COVID-19. New numbers show a four-week downward trend in reported cases of the virus, which has resulted in a 50 percent drop in infections since the peak on January 8th. The country is also reporting fewer than 100,000 daily cases for the first time since November. But one population, in particular, is still extremely vulnerable because of the virus, and because of the extreme cold this time of year. Reporter Charlene Aaron recently spoke with several organizations that have adapted to each new curveball this pandemic has thrown, all to continue their mission of caring for the homeless. She's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

    Super Bowl 55 Feb 05, 2021
    Show notes

Super Bowl Sunday is just days away and this year the Kansas City Chiefs will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Like everything else this year, the big game has been adapted to COVID-19 health guidelines. Sports director Shawn Brown is on today's CBN News Daily Rundown with a look at how the NFL pivoted during the pandemic and what players to be on the lookout for as they take the field Sunday.

National Prayer Breakfast Goes Virtual Feb 04, 2021
    Show notes

Joe Biden has attended the annual National Prayer Breakfast as a senator, as vice president, and this year as president. In all his years attending, he says the country has never been in worse shape. The event was virtual this year due to the ongoing pandemic and the message was one of finding unity through faith. Capitol Hill correspondent Abigail Robertson covered the event. She's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

'The COVID Slide' Feb 03, 2021
    Show notes

Experts agree academic and social development are likely slipping for students as schools remain closed. It's known as 'The COVID Slide,' and is resulting in actual learning loss. Parents and students alike are fed-up and speaking out. Senior Washington correspondent Tara Mergener recently spoke with one Virginia father who went viral after venting his frustration at a school board meeting. She's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

    The Filibuster Feb 02, 2021
    Show notes

The majority rules in most of the Nation's Capitol, but it's a different story in the US Senate, which has the power of the filibuster--at least for now. A filibuster requires the 100 member Senate to get 60 votes to move ahead on an issue. Now Democrats want to wipe it out. Washington correspondent Paul Strand says that decision could come back to bite them if they move forward on it. He's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.
