Director Jen Marlowe Nov 26, 2018
    Show notes

Today on the show I got a chance to sit down with Jen Marlowe and had a fascinating conversation about her art, activism, and how she combines both to spread awareness and a voice to those who don't have a platform of free self expression.
One of the best things about having a podcast is that I get to sit down with people who delve into subjects and cultural sectors that I have no idea about and open up a conversation where I can learn, grow, and share that experience with you.

The Adirondack Interviews: Jill Sandmire & Layne Marie Williams Nov 23, 2018
    Show notes

Another one from my hotel room at The Adirondack Film Festival! This time I got to sit down with two powerhouse women Jill Sandmire & Layne Marie Williams and we talk about their work in film, producing, and their female film maker collective Women Of The Now.

Actress Emily Vere Nicoll Nov 19, 2018
    Show notes

On today's episode I got to sit down with the lovely and talented Emily Vere Nicholl. Emily is a British American film & television actor and voiceover artist based in New York City. Recently playing Madge, on Netflix's Black Mirror: Black Museum and Lauren Campos on Season 3 of Chicago Med, she continues to create and produce her own work.
I also go off on so many tangents and Emily was gracious enough to deal with me venting about film festivals, romantic comedies, and much more.

The Adirondack Interviews: Eliaz Rodriguez Nov 16, 2018
    Show notes

I got a chance to sit down with Eliaz Rodriguez at The Adirondack Film Festival and it was an absolute blast. We got a chance to talk about his life, travels, film making, and so much more in this very special episode. Below is a bunch of stuff I copied and pasted off IMDB:
Eliaz Rodriguez is an international-award-winning autodidact writer, director, and editor from Chicago. In 2008 he co-created the comedy group Wood Sugars and over the next five years produced/directed hundreds of films, web series, podcasts, and live comedy shows. In October of 2013 he made his first solo short film, an adaptation of a true story entitled Beverly, which went on to win Best In Show of the Cinema Minima Residency and Best of Fest of the Indie Incubator Film Fest.
In 2016 he launched his production company "Elamina Films". The first release from Elamina is his latest short "Think Twice", which was his first film with a full 15-person crew. "Think Twice" has gone on to be selected to 50 film festivals and has won multiple "Best Director" and "Best Short Film" awards at festivals including the prestigious Middle Coast Film Festival and the "Best International Comedy Film" award from the Cardiff Mini Film Festival.

Comedian Warren Holstein Nov 12, 2018
    Show notes

Warren Holstein is a writer, stand up comedian, movie buff, father, and (most importantly) a friend I had a chance to reconnect with in life and on the podcast. In this episode Warren talks about balancing creative life with being a dad, some of his favorite films, and most importantly a thing called a sleepy sack.

The Adirondack Interviews: Geoff Marslett Nov 09, 2018
    Show notes

Welcome to the first episode of my Adirondack Film Festival Interviews!
I got a chance to sit down with film director, writer, producer, animator and actor Geoff Marslett. His early career started with the animated short Monkey vs. Robot which was distributed internationally by "Spike and Mike's Classic Festival of Animation" on video and "Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation" in theaters. He directed several successful narrative feature films including MARS and Loves Her Gun, as well as producing and acting in the experimental documentary Yakona. His most recent work Everything Changes was a 15 year labor of love that screened at The Adirondack Film Festival.

    Musician/Actress Anya Marina Nov 05, 2018
    Show notes

Anya Marina is a multi talented singer songwriter, actress, and producer of her new web series "Indie-pendent Woman". We got a chance to sit down and talk about music, film, sober dating, and my increasing phobia of hotel carpeting.

Halloween Special w/ Lindsay and Manny Serrano Oct 29, 2018
    Show notes

Welcome to the first Halloween special of The Cary Allen Picture Show! I originally intended to sit down with Lindsay and Manny Serrano of Mass Grave Pictures about horror films we have in common but the episode takes an amazing turn when Lindsay opens up about her past traumas and ow they shaped the way she makes films. We also touch upon gender relations on set, my own gender neuroses, the under appreciated brilliance of Halloween III, and much much more!

Director Austin Kase Oct 22, 2018
    Show notes

On this episode of The Cary Allen Picture Show I got a chance to sit down with writer/director Austin Kase whose funny and beautiful film "Another Girl" has been making the rounds on the festival circuit. We also unpack his love of The Cohen Brothers, his time at Yale, and our shared gateway film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Director Jay Giampietro Oct 15, 2018
    Show notes

Writer/Director Jay Giampietro has been a friend for many years and has amassed an impressive body of short films including "The Sun Thief", "Unpresidented", "Whiffed Out", and his most recent short "Quarterbacks" which premiered at the 56th Annual New York Film Festival. I got a chance to catch up with Jay and chat about films, life, and how both of us are in living in constant fear of touching anything.
