Stay ConnectedThe Canadian Gothic uncovers Canada’s most mysterious, unusual, and fascinating stories.
The show dives deep into true crime, unsolved disappearances, paranormal encounters, and bizarre events using a blend of meticulous research, archival audio, interviews, and firsthand accounts.
Each episode, whether a standalone mystery or part of an ongoing series, offers a richly woven narrative that brings Canada’s most enigmatic cases to life.
Our guest (who will have their voice altered and will be referred to simply as Jane) has a story that begins in Halifax, Nova Scotia, back when she was just 14 years old.
A chance encounter at a bus stop led her through experiences she is very fortunate to have survived.
In this episode of Nighttime, I'm again joined by Jane Doe to continue our discussion surrounding child sex trafficking, survival, and justice.

London, Ontario - Oct 13, 1983
17-year-old Donna-Jean Awcock was babysitting a neighbour's child in the apartment building next door to where she lived… Something she did regularly.
When the child's mother returned home, in the early morning hours, she asked Donna run across the street to a convenience store before she left. This visit to the store which was only a stones throw away from her home is the last time Donna was seen alive.
A gruesome discovery at a riverbank in the days later would explain what happened to her... but not who was responsible.
The murder has remained unsolved for nearly 40 years, but not due to lack of trying. Donna's old sister Tammy has made it her life's mission to bring the person or persons responsible for Donna's death to justice.
In this episode of Nighttime, I'll be joined by Tammy Dennett, to discuss the still unsolved murder of her little sister Donna-Jean Awcock

In this episode Chris Rutkowski and I discuss one of Canada's many UFO secrets.
This isn't one of those secrets anyone is trying to keep though...
I'm sure the town of St. Paul, Alberta would love to have the world find out about their unique contribution to Canada's UFO history.
Many Canada's may be unaware that back in 1967, the mayor of St. Paul Alberta decided to have the world's first UFO landing pad built and the monolithic concrete structure still stands today... waiting to it's first arrival.
In this episode of Nighttime our topic is the St. Paul, Alberta UFO Landing Pad

Then 26 year old civil engineer Andrew Gnazdowsky and a co-worker were on site completing a survey of a Nova Scotia Power dam near Sheet Harbour in October of 2020.
When a technology failure disrupted their work, Andrew made the fateful decision to enter the water and collect a piece of equipment.
Moments later, Andrew would yell for help before ultimately disappearing below the still water.
In the year since Andrew's tragic death, the Gnazdowsky's have been steadfast in their belief that the investigation into Andrew's death has been flawed at best, completely compromised at worst, and it's not just a hunch that tells them that.
Nearly every step of the way it seems that Andrew's number one advocate, his sister Nicole Gnazdowsky, has been uncovering the kind of details that make a public inquiry a logical outcome.
Conflicts of interest, erroneous death records, the scrubbing online records, bureaucratic flip flopping, and opportunistic politicians...
This story has all of it.
In this episode of Nighttime we are going to be joined by Nicole Gnazdowsky and our topic is the search for answers and accountability related to the death of her brother Andrew Gnazdowsky.
