We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize Racists/White people. #ANTIBLACKNESS The so called "dogs days of summer" have been congested with events directly related to White Supremacy. Former President Donald J. Trump's Florida property was searched by the FBI. Many Whites were furious that the former Commander in Chief could be treated so niggardly. In fact, 42-year-old Navy veteran Ricky W. Shiffer went on social media to demand a "call to arms" in retaliation for the Trump search. On Thursday, Shiffer attempted to breach a Cincinnati, Ohio FBI field office. He was killed hours later. In Mississippi, a grand jury declined to indict 88-year Carolyn Bryant Donham for her participation in the lynching of Emmett Till. Elsewhere in the U.S., many Whites are recognizing the half decade since the White Supremacist carnage in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. Just days ago, a C.O.W.S. listener and mother wrote in to describe her child's experience working at a dollar store. It's common for teens to begin their work experience in retail, the location's close to their residence. Her child reported his attempt to question a White tandem who appeared to be looting soda pop. Team members did not support her son - even when the would-be White thieves rebuffed requests to produce a receipt. Gus's suggestion back then was to refrain from pursuing shoplifters too hard. Low and behold, black dollar store employees in Louisiana are considering a union to improve work conditions. One of the problems cited was safety. A black male reported that he attempted to question a potential shoplifter. This smuggler also declined to produce a receipt, but he did brandish a firearm. Gus strongly discourages risking your black (non-white) life for any products - or White employees - at any dollar store. And we'll hear about the workplace abuse of Shakeem Peterson, a black naval veteran and a former employee of Ring Power Corporation in Florida. As opposed to being venerated for his sacrifice and service to "country," Peterson was mocked and taunted as a "maid." Stunningly, this report includes details about additional workplace terrorism in the "sunshine state." The Katherine Massey Book Club hosts the 13th study session on Catherine Pelonero's 2017 publication, Absolute Madness: A True Story of a Serial Killer, Race, and a City Divided. This was scheduled to be our concluding study session on this text. However, Gus. T. and listeners have emphasized the widespread sexual abuse in the Buffalo Catholic church. Low and behold, Father Michael R. Freeman has several substantiated claims of child rape. In fact, even during the time that Father Freeman met Joey and testified at his murder trial, Freeman was allegedly raping children - sometimes at gun point. The Buffalo diocese was aware of Freeman's child molestation and assisted him in evading law enforcement. These crimes were widely publicized in 2018 and are extremely relevant to this book. There's flagrant anti-sex/homosexual activity and sexual deviance throughout the text - including prostitution and wide age differentials between partners. The widespread rape and concealment exposes the lie (rhetorical ethic) of kindly, pious Whites who are devoted to their faith and humanitarian objectives. Last week, Pelonero provided vivid details of Joey's childhood influences. His father Nicholas was known as an "extreme Racist." He found a "kindred spirit" with a fellow neighborhood Racist, and the treacherous tandem vandalized public parks to intimidate black visitors. Stunningly, Pelonero spoke with neighbors who remembered Nicholas terrorizing black pedestrians by firing a pellet gun and shouting Racist slurs when black people approached the area. Demonstrating the adage that the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree: Joey attacked countless black people and was convicted of killing multiple black males, and his father is a known "extreme Racist." However, Therese Christopher is presented as a kindly, weeping, Catholic mother who earned the sympathy of all. An Olympic gold medalist, Russell supported Muhammad Ali's refusal to fight in the Vietnam conflict and endured decades of White Supremacy from fans across the country - including those in Boston. Science-fiction legend Nichelle Nichols also died this week. Like Russell, Nichols was a Victim of White Supremacy. She's widely recognized for her work on the iconic Star Trek franchise, where she was one of the first regular black actresses on a mainstream science fiction series. Of course, her iconic moment in the series involves being sexually sewered by a White Man (Captain Kirk). Former Black Panther Party member Albert Woodfox also died this week. He details his summer internship and the numerous tacky incidents he's overcome while performing his duties. We'll also recognize a tidbit of the terrorism NBA legend and COINTELPRO victim Bill Russell experienced before dying this week at the age of 88. The hoops champion described a 1960's business trip to Kentucky where he discovered White Supremacists would not serve black people at the hotel restaurant. Not even well paid, NBA basketball stars like Bill Russell and teammate Sam Jones. While the most recent Race Soldier to slaughter blacks in Buffalo, Payton Gendron, awaits trial, WBFO reminded us that this Suspected Terrorist is only a teenager. His brain is not fully developed, which, apparently, "complicates" his criminal responsibility for mass murder of negroes. Last week in Pelonero's book, the White Supremacist code was flagrantly displayed. Madona Gorney testified about Joseph G. Christopher's presence at the killing of 14-year-old Glenn Dunn. This White Woman lost friends and was admonished by neighbors and relatives for testifying against a White Man accused of killing black people. During the protracted court proceedings, Joey delighted in taunting the mostly black inmates - saying he wished he'd killed more niggras. White prison officials punished black inmates with lockdown for responding to Joey's Racist insults. Dr. Kenneth O'Reilly returns to The Context of White Supremacy Radio Program. An emeritus professor of history at the University of Alaska Anchorage, Dr. O'Reilly specializes in U.S. politics, presidential history, and "race relations." We've spoken with Dr. O'Reilly twice before about his books: Nixon's Piano: Presidents and Racial Politics from Washington to Clinton; and Racial Matters: The FBI's Secret File on Black America, 1960 to 1972. In 2009, The C.O.W.S. had only returned to the air for 2 months when Dr. O'Reilly first spoke with us about COINTELPRO - the FBI's clandestine surveillance program to neutralize non-white people who attempted to counter-racism. The impetus to speak with Dr. O'Reilly at this moment was last week's conversation with Florida State University's Fannie Lou Hamer Professor of Rhetorical Studies, Dr. Davis W. Houck. This White Man wrote a history book on Mississippi's 1964 Freedom Summer campaign and completely omitted COINTELPRO. J. Edgar Hoover, Stokley Carmichael, Ella Baker, John Lewis, and Bob Moses are just a few of the main characters in the book. Except FBI director Hoover, all of these people were COINTELPRO victims. To the contrary, Dr. O'Reilly's book contains an entire chapter on Hoover and the Justice Department's nefarious behavior during Freedom Summer. We'll discuss the significance of this predictable negligence by White experts like Dr. Houck and why this should be understood as a deliberate act of White Supremacy. We'll also get Dr. O'Reilly's thoughts on the recent Netflix film, Judas and the Black Messiah - which dramatizes the COINTELPRO assassinations of Chicago Black Panthers Fred Hampton and Mark Clark, as well as the recent acknowledgement that two black males, Muhammad A. In Ripley, Mississippi, a White Man gleefully attempted to run over a group of black children riding their bicycles. Suspected Race Soldier Mark Hall posted video where he can be heard calling the young black cyclists Racist slurs and joking about the possibility of vehicular homicide. While black children are being hunted, White journalists celebrated the New Oxford dictionary's inclusion of "African American English" contributions such as: "woke." Gus would be far more impressed if the dictionaries included terms like: "Gutter Sex," "Unjust Networking," and "Racial Showcasing." Up north, 55-year-old Anthony Mangiapane fired shouts and Racist slurs at a black pedestrian in Warren, Michigan. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. Gus continues to beg listeners to share input about how Covid-19 is impacting their workplace. Some areas of the U.S. are re-instituting mask mandates in public, which may result in workers having to "mask up" on the job again. Or, some colleagues ignore safety regulations and potentially jeopardize the health of others. Since Seattle finally had summer weather this week (temperatures above 75°F), we'll give reminders for those who may be required to endure high temperatures while working. Stay hydrated and do as much as possible to avoid risks associated with extreme heat. We'll also give reminders for parents who have young children entering the work force. NPR investigated allegations against an Alabama Hyundai plant where teenage children were subjected to abusive work conditions. With ongoing labor shortages in a number of fields, young children will continue to be preyed upon by unscrupulous (Racist) employers who disregard the safety of their employees. The Katherine Massey Book Club hosts the 11th study session on Catherine Pelonero's 2017 publication, Absolute Madness: A True Story of a Serial Killer, Race, and a City Divided. Just this month, the east side Tops grocery store where Massey and 9 other black people were slaughtered has re-opened. Many black residents wanted the building destroyed. The Race Soldier, Payton Gendron, was federally charged with 27 counts of hate crime and weapons violations. He could face the death penalty if convicted. Last week, Pelonero detailed the accounts of some of Joey's other black co-workers. They described him as a "crazy" White boy who "popped pills" and joked around with the black employees. They did not think of him as a Racist. Pelonero continues to sympathize with this psychopathic serial killer, insisting that the media immediately castigated and convicted him as a Racist killer. She also finds fault with journalists reminding readers that Christopher dropped out of high school - something routinely done with black victims of violent crime.
