We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of terms as tools to reveal truth, neutralize Racists/White people. #ANTIBLACKNESS This week - like many in the US - kicked off with a 25-year-old White gunman killing 5 of his former co-workers at a Louisville, Kentucky bank. Connor Sturgeon discovered that his termination was immanent. He wrote his parents, purchased a rifle, and began killing. In South America, things were about the same. Brazil endured two separate school attacks on Monday and Tuesday of this week. These mark the 10th and 11th school massacres in Brazil in the last 8 months. President Lula de Silva departed for China, where he encouraged "developing nations" to eschew the US dollar for other forms of currency. Whites of North America had hoped for better. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly forum on Neutralizing Workplace Racism 04/14/23. An attempted black mother informed Gus about her child's workplace experience. Apparently, her black son and another co-worker were discussing how people classified as White look for a reason to say the word nigger without consequence. Seemingly on cue, a different employee showed up to ask her son if he could explain the difference between a black person and a nigger. Thankfully, she taught her black child well, and he made haste for an exit. Gus recommends that parents speak with their offspring about what Racism is and how it works in all areas of people activity with a special focus on labor. Your non-white sons and daughters should not be surprised about the practice of White Supremacy - especially the use of the term nigger. The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the 13th study session on Mário Filho's 1947 The Black Man in Brazilian Soccer, translated to English by Jack A. Draper III. Brazilian football (soccer) legend Pelé died near the end of 2022 at the age of 82. His transition along with the disgraceful hooliganism displayed when former President Jair Bolsonaro lost the presidency to Lula da Silva, motivated us to read this book. The whole time, the US has been struggling with a seeming increase of school shootings, Brazil has been battling the same problem. There was a hatchet attack at a day care center last week. And two weeks ago, on the same day as the Nashville, Tennessee church school shooting, a teacher was stabbed to death in Sao Paulo. In fact, they've suffered through 11 school massacres in the past 8 months. Last week, Filho detailed how World War II impacted South America. It seems many Whites in Brazil identified with the Germans, and hoped to join forces with Hitler and Mussolini. Filho continues to promote the lie that football had progressed beyond Racism. Yet, black players were denied the position of goal tender and assumed to be corrupted by bribes and sports gambling. And similar to Filho's earlier mention of lynching, he discusses the Klu Klux Klan and 20th century minstrel tunes without providing any historical context. An associate professor at the University of Iowa's School of Journalism and Communication, Dr. Oates's research interests include: sports coverage within magazines, newspapers, websites, video games, and videos. We'll discuss the Racist controversy surrounding this past week's NCAA Women's National Championship Game between Louisiana State University and the University of Iowa. The most watched game in women's college basketball history featured a starting White 5 against a starting black 5. When the LSU team of black ladies triumphed and trash-talked the losing White Women of Iowa... all manner of White Supremacy broke lose. Caitlin Clark, who played at a historically elite level during the tournament, went from the female Steph Curry... to just another White victim of a "classless," uppity black athlete. We'll ground this discussion in several of Dr. Oates published reports which examine manhood in basketball and football. Aggie parents and students were reportedly furious about the lack of communication from university officials. in California, Joanne Segovia, a 20-year employee of San Jose's Police Officers Association, was arrested and terminated this week for allegedly trafficking fentanyl and controlled substances. Segovia, a White Woman, is accused of using her workplace computer and police connections to help camouflage her international drug cartel. Today we'll hear a bit of Kelly Richmond Pope's presentation on her new book which examines fraud in the workplace. Under the System of White Supremacy, Racism and criminal looting should be expected on the job. Two of the better recommendations she offers are to ask questions and to consult with and inquire about policy and procedure. Richmond Pope highlights that new hires and other less powerful employees may feel bullied into complying with fraudulent activities. Call on your black self respect to speak up - or send an email asking a few questions. We also discuss the tendency to humiliate and publicly embarrass black workers on the job. The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the 12th study session on Mário Filho's 1947 The Black Man in Brazilian Soccer, translated to English by Jack A. Draper III. Brazilian football (soccer) legend Pelé died near the end of 2022 at the age of 82. His transition along with the disgraceful hooliganism displayed when former President Jair Bolsonaro lost the presidency to Lula da Silva, motivated us to read this book. Since most non-white people have not traveled to South America or studied Brazil, this seems like a great time to do some south-of-the-equator learning. After months of loitering in Florida following his 2022 election defeat, former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro reportedly returned to home at the end of last week. Joyous crowds greeted him with boisterous cheers. Some Bolsonaro supporters donned the jersey of the national soccer team. Last week's chapter (The Trial of the Black Man), further demonstrates the low plight of black people in South America. Filho describes how World War II impacted Brazil, which became one of the havens for fleeing Nazis after the war. Filho details one scene where soccer becomes a metaphor for War. Fanatics would show up for games with thousands of cherry bombs to be ignited for their teams entrance. Smoke would blacken the sky as if there were attending a freshly bombarded battle-field - as opposed to a ball game. Filho continues to emphasize the importance of hair texture and how many non-white people did as much as possible to be accepted as White. This included getting plastic surgery to make one's nose appear more like a White person's. I know right... plastic surgery in early 20th century South America?!?!?! The White "transgender" shooter was allegedly killed on the scene by officers. One of the six victims was 61-year-old Mike Hill, affectionately known as "big strong Mike." Author, Victim of White Supremacy, reparations activist Randall Robinson passed away at the age of 81. We'll study a fascinating report on "Race Correction" in global health care. Racist medical officials fabricate reasons to give black patients inferior care. Since most non-white people have not traveled to South America or studied Brazil, this seems like a great time to do some south-of-the-equator learning. Gus T. hoped that the Brazilian thuggery would continue while we're reading this text. Low and behold, on the same day that there was a deadly school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, a 13-year-old White Brazilian teenager stabbed a teacher to death. They've had at least three school attacks in Brazil since November of 2022, the shooters have donned Nazi paraphernalia in two of the attacks. During last week's session, Fihlo detailed how a black soccer player, Leônidas, was nearly lynched for driving reckless after the ball games. Gus was struck by the lack of context for lynchings in Brazil - how frequent were these murders attacks?
