The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Jenny Bulstrode live from England. A Lecturer in History of Science and Technology at University College London, Dr. Bulstrode "uses an interdisciplinary combination of archival research, oral traditions, tacit skills and material science to research histories of material practices and how those practices shape differing ways of knowing the world. Her work seeks to foreground and centre histories of marginalised sciences, both for their importance to dominant traditions in the physical sciences and on their own terms." We'll discuss her recent focus on Black skill and innovation in 18th Century Jamaica in the report: 'Black metallurgists and the making of the industrial revolution.' Dr. Bulstrode highlights how Henry Cort used his White network to professionally loot a lucrative Jamaican factory. They stole precious machinery and maybe even the highly skilled black workers too. We highlight the extraordinary skill level of Africans that made them more appetizing/valuable to White enslavers. Sweltering heat continues to broil the planet - with large numbers of non-white people suffering without air conditioning or ice brewed coffee. Some reports speculate this could be the new climate pattern for the planet. One of our listeners even discussed having inferior cooling for parts the building where mostly non-white people labor. For those of who do not melt, weeks ago the US invoked the new Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. After years of abusing and exploiting pregnant workers - especially non-females who are "expecting," the mandates offer great protections to keep pregnant or recently pregnant moms from being fired or abused on the job. The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts debut study session on Sue Klebold's A Mothers' Reckoning. Published nearly 20 years after the notorious 1999 Columbine High School massacre, where 13 people were killed, Mrs. Klebold is the White mother of Dylan Klebold - one of the cowardly White killers. After spending years in silence, Klebold stepped center stage to share her anguish over losing her child and her perspective on her child's attempt to slaughter hundreds of his classmates while disintegrating the high school. Allegedly, a percentage of the proceeds are donated to mental health causes. Given The C.O.W.S.'s recent and extensive research on this subject matter, we should be in prime position to interrogate what this Racist Suspect mother has to say. Gus finds it noteworthy that Andrew Solomon, a "gay" White male, Suspected Racist, authors the introduction to the book. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Jeff Kass. A reporter for the now-defunct Rocky Mountain News, Kass is a renowned journalist who was on the scene April 20th, 1999 for the Columbine Massacre. He investigated and reported on this massacre for a decade and compiled his research into the 2009 publication: Columbine: A True Crime Story. Mr. Kass missed out on viewing the Basement Tapes, but did file a number of Freedom of Information requests to get a better understanding of why 13 people were killed by two White teens. We’ll discuss how this failed bombing is connected to the other White bombers of the decade and the pattern of “White Victimhood” connecting the killers. We’ll also discuss the infamous Sue Klebold - mother of one of the killers, and the corruption of the Jefferson County Sheriffs's Office before and after April 20, 1999. We also detail the Racist abuse that Shoels family faced after their son Isaiah was killed. Mr. Kass spent time with the family and documented their response to the massacre. We even asked Mr. Kass about Rev. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Andrew Gumbel. A English-born Oxford University alumnus, Mr. Gumbel ““worked for more than twenty years as a foreign correspondent for British newspapers the Guardian and the Independent, including assignments in the Balkans, Italy, the Middle East, and, since 1998, the United States. He has won awards for investigative reporting and political commentary, and written widely for U.S. publications including the Los Angeles Times and The Atlantic.” Gumbel is a White Man, a Racist Suspect. The Katherine Massey Book Club just concluded Dave Cullen’s Columbine, which details the failed 1999 bombing in Colorado. Gus began connecting the dots to the many White bombers of the decade. The late Ted ‘Unabomber’ Kaczynski, Eric Rudolph - who bombed the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, and McVeigh were all actively terrorizing in the ’90’s. We'll discuss the 2012 publication that Gumbel co-authored, OKLAHOMA CITY. The text details how McVeigh’s trial was relocated to Denver, and he and Kaczynski shared the same unit of a Colorado supermax prison. We’ll discuss Gumbel’s research on the FBI investigation in the bombing and if they ignored or failed to investigate other White Supremacists who may have helped massacre 168 people at the Alfred P. Murrah building. Many of them children. The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the 11th and final study session on Dave Cullen's COLUMBINE. Perhaps the cowardly White killers best understood the ramifications of their actions. It's been nearly a quarter century since the April 1999 attack, and these loser White teens continue to "inspire" homicidal followers - mostly White - around the planet. Lost in all this White worship are the police failures and outright lies that enabled this unnecessary slaughter and the disgraceful White journalism that misinformed the public and aided toxic fandom. Cullen continues this by pussyfooting the corruption of the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office and omitting much of the evidence of these White boys's Racism - such as reports of their Racist Jokes and they're routine public commentary about killing black people and "Jews." He also omits their fascination with Racist serial killers like Jeffrey Dahmer and Charles Manson. Last week, Cullen told us more about Patrick Ireland's full-throttle dating life in college - it appears he and Eric Harris are "studs." Then we heard about the infamous "basement tapes" - where the cowardly duo explain the planning and motivations for their mass murder. Cullen was restricted from viewing any of this footage, yet he speaks with White authority and arrogance about this material. An independent scholar whose work examines the relationship between fans, objects of fandom, and producers, Dr. Jones has published extensively on digital media, gender, antifandom and toxicity. Her work has appeared in the Journal of Transformative Works and Culture, Participations, and Sexualities, as well as edited collections for Palgrave and Routledge. She’s also a board member on the Fan Studies Network. We’ll discuss her 2022 paper on the White fandom around the cowardly Columbine shooters. Apparently, the Colorado killers are big news across the pond too. We’ll relate this to Dr. Jones’ report on her trip to Atlanta, Georgia. She attended an academic conference and made time for the Walking Dead tour. We’ll discuss the racial demographics of the folks on these tours and what they reveal about White culture. We’ll also see if she stopped by the King Center to pay her respects to the “Drum Major for Justice.” We heard about Dr. Jones from our recent conversation with Dr. Judith Fathallah, who's also in Whales. In Baltimore, Maryland, 28 people were injured and two people killed after gun fire ended a weekend block party. The Guardian reports that there were 16 mass shootings and 15 fatalities from Friday evening through the beginning of the July 4th week. Lots of young non-white people were present for these various shootings. Again, Fuller recommends no parties. In France, rioting continues for a second week after the police killing of nonwhite teen Nahel M. The disturbance forced French citizens to acknowledge the local and national System of White Supremacy - although they mostly used the term "systemic racism" or other euphemisms.
