The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 9th and final study session on Vincent Woodard's The Delectable Negro: Human Consumption and Homoeroticism within US Slave Culture. Mr. Woodard died in 2008, but his book was posthumously published in 2014. University of Texas A&M's Dr. Tommy J. Curry strongly encouraged C.O.W.S. listeners to invest time studying Woodard's work - stressing the relevance of Woodard's research on the rape of black males. Last week's segment chastised "Afrocentric thinkers and leaders, such as Haki Madhubuti, Louis Farrakhan, Ben Jochannan, and Molefe Asante" for failing to embrace black male homoeroticism. Many listeners noted a suspiciously different tone to the sixth and final chapter - branding it "pornographic" in it's depiction of sexual activity. Woodard commits significant time to Toni Morrison's depiction of black males being sexual violated by white prison guards - this again represents how the rape of black males and female remains a core aspect of white culture. The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Thursday weekly forum on Workplace Racism. The reason for this program is to fortify non-white people's problem-solving capabilities and to improve how black people think, speak, act and control emotions while at work. Any listeners who've figured out the best way to minimize hostilties with White and/or non-white co-workers, escape demotions, write-ups, terminations and the usual racial abuse we experience under Racist labor conditions should be first to call in and share specifics. We always welcome the experiences of Black "entrepreneurs;" please, let us know how being "self employed" changes your experience with Whites on the job. The Context of White Supremacy hosts our monthly Global Sunday Talk On Racism. This program is specifically egineered to encourage participation from Victims of Racism outside the United States and/or non-white people who are not able to participate during our usual broadcast time. Political elections in France, Germany and the Netherlands have many anticipating a continued wave of "far-right," racist victories in the voting booth. The Netherland's Geert Wilders, who's anti-immigrant bombast was often compared to President Donald J. Trump, was defeated in this week's election. But France's Marine Le Pen remains a favorite to become the country's next president. Gus is also eager to hear commentary from our black British listeners about the kerfuffle raised by Samuel L. Jackson's remarks. The star of Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained criticized the importation of black Brits to portray African Americans in Hollywood. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We'll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS Today marks third generation physician and author Dr. Frances Cress Welsing's 82nd birthday. As if more whiteness was needed, the northeastern seaboard of the United States was pillaged by a late winter blizzard. In Europe, Whites celebrated the defeat of bigotry as Geert Wilders was defeated in the Netherland's general election. Frequently compared to the current U.S. president, many suspected Wilders would repeat Trump's success. Reiterating the worthlessness of black life, a total of 10 days of suspensions were handed out to a Cleveland, Ohio dispatcher and patrol officer whose misconduct contributed to the 2014 shooting death of 12-year-old Tamir Rice. No one was ever criminally indicted for Rice's death. The library bearing eponymous honor to Cynthia Graham Hurd, one of the nine victims of the 2015 Mother Emanuel AME Church slaughter, was ransacked with Racist graffiti. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the eighth study session on Vincent Woodard's The Delectable Negro: Human Consumption and Homoeroticism within US Slave Culture. Mr. Woodard died in 2008, but his work was posthumously published in 2014. University of Texas A&M's Dr. Tommy J. Curry suggested this text on one his first visits to The C.O.W.S. - stressing the value of Woodard's analysis of the rape of black males. Last week's segment returned to Nat Turner's 1831 rebellion. The text focuses on William Styron's 1967 corrupt portrayal of Turner - portraying him engaged in "homosexual" activity. Gus noted a willingness to excuse Styron's dishonesty while scolding black males who rightly rejected Styron's work. Woodard explicitly and repeatedly indicts 1960's black males for being unable or unwilling to accept that homoerotic activity was a part of the enslavement of black people. A significant amount of the chapter diverted to discuss James Baldwin's work, his friendship with Styron, and his treatment by other black people. Many of the critiques seem similar to 21st century charges that black people are uniquely "homophobic." With this confirmation, black people should remember Dr. Kenneth O'Reilly, a former C.O.W.S. guest and author of Racial Matters: The FBI's Secret File of Black Americans from 1960 to 1972; he explained how black people are always subjected to heightened suspicion and observation. Television star Samuel L. Jackson raised a concern about African American actors losing employment to black people born outside the U.S. The cast of reigning box office champion "Get Out, by Jordan Peele, was one of Jackson's examples; the main actor, Daniel Kaluuya, was born and raised in London, England. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the seventh study session on Vincent Woodard's The Delectable Negro: Human Consumption and Homoeroticism within US Slave Culture. Mr. Woodard died in 2008, but this text was posthumously published in 2014. University of Texas A&M's Dr. Tommy J. Curry raved about this text on one his earliest visits to The C.O.W.S. - highlighting the importance of Woodard's exploration of the rape of black males. Last week's session continued the analysis of Harriet Jacob's Incidents In The Life of a Slave Girl. Woodard noted that US slave scholarship lacks accurate commentary on White Women's sexual violence against enslaved black females. Woodard emphasized that White Women would have learned from and witnessed generations of White men raping their black human property. Woodard writes that enslaved black females symbolized the "perfect emotional playground, the perfect vehicle through which young white women could work out and practice their need, their sexual hostility, and other types of aggression." Much like today, White Women, according to Woodard, nurtured and sustained "themselves by drawing upon the erotic and psychic energy of black women." Woodard also stressed how White kids began learning their role as plantation master as toddlers. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS Ben Keita, an 18-year-old Washington student, was found hanging from a tree at the beginning of 2017. His death was originally labeled a suicide, but medical examiners have changed his cause of death to "undetermined." The FBI is now examining the case. The Justice Department has a heap of trouble as Attorney General Jeff Sessions faces accusations of perjury regarding his recent testimony during confirmation hearings. There's no evidence he'll be fired. Speaking of Whites on the proverbial "hot seat," a Georgia duo received years a prison time for terrorizing a black family having a birthday party. Kayla Norton and Jose Torres were sentenced to six and thirteen years respectively for a 2015 incident where the two - along with several other Race Soldiers - brandished firearms and confederate flags while hurling Racist insults. Demonstrating refreshing humility and candor, HBCU officials admitted they were tricked during an earlier White House meeting with President Donald J. Trump.
