The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Friday weekly caucus on neutralizing Workplace Racism. This broadcast is specifically engineered to improve non-white people's problem-solving skills and refine how black people think, speak, act and control emotions while at work. Any listeners who've designed a code to minimize conflicts with White and/or non-white co-workers, bypass demotions, write-ups, terminations or other forms of violence we experience under Racist work conditions should be first to call in with particulars. The Context of White Supremacy concluded its 10 Year Anniversary Yoga Retreat in Drewryville, Virginia. Although Gus thought he might die in the Commonwealth, he and the other 14 people who attempted to attend the retreat all managed to survive. We'll recap a historic four days where 7 black males and 7 black females practiced yoga, exchanged counter-racist views, and ate plant-based meals together without conflict. A number of Virginia are daily voicing outrage about White state law holders continuing to practice Racism. While some White politicians proffered gracious apologies that were well received, Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar was forced to apologize repeatedly for suggesting that U.S. lobbyists aggressively promote the interests of Israel. Like Marc Lamont Hill and Public Enemy's Professor Griff, Rep. The so called #MeToo has snared another black male. Seemingly minutes after being promoted to governor of the state of Virginia, Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax is now the subject of impeachment dialog. The C.O.W.S. Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl Part 5 (conclusion) Feb 15, 2019

The Context of White Supremacy hosts our fourth study session on Harriet Jacobs's Incidents In the Life of a Slave Girl. This celebrated slave narrative was referenced in the previous two books of study - Pamela Evans Harris's Black Love Is A Revolutionary Act and Dr. Tommy J. Curry's The Man-Not: Race, Class, Genre, and the Dilemmas of Black Manhood. The heinous details of torture and rape reveal truth about white culture and slavery in this part of the world. Jacobs's narrative is further evidence of the sexual terrorism that has remained a primary component of White conduct. The text was published in 1861 - coinciding with the start of the Civil War. Dr. Nell Irvin Painter, a former C.O.W.S. guest, wrote the introduction for the 2000 Penguin edition. Last week's broadcast contained a segment where Jacob's used a metaphor comparing herself to the White literary icon Robinson Crusoe. Gus asked University of Texas Austin literary scholar Dr. Martin Kevorkian if there was anything suspicious about this reference. He said that it's possible Jacobs read or was familiar with the swashbuckling legend of Crusoe. However, he did say that there have been years of speculation about the authenticity and/or Racist influence on Jacob's autobiography. He referenced Albert H. Tricomi's "Harriet Jacob's Autobiography and the Voice of Lydia Maria Child." Once again, a White Woman "benefactor" is suspected of adding to, subtracting from, or otherwise editing black literary content in support of White Supremacy. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Ruby Lathon. A certified holistic nutritionist, wellness coach and an advocate for the life-saving benefits of plant-based nutrition, Gus first heard of Dr. Lathon in the documentary film "What The Health?" In the film she shares her own health struggles with cancer, and how switching to a vegan diet replenished her well-being and vitality. She also talked about how sharing this information with her other black family members could have saved or extended their lives. We'll address many of the obstacles that keep prohibit black people from eating well.
