The Business of Being Yourself with Tiffany Han (formerly Raise Your Hand Say Yes)

Everyone wants to teach women how to build businesses, but almost nobody is talking about the woman doing the building. But after 16 years in business and nearly 3 million podcast downloads, I’ve become convinced of something: You are the best asset your business has.

Which means that who you are, how you show up, what you believe, and what brings you to life are the business-building tools we *need* to be talking about. In this weekly-ish show, I explore ambition, creativity, visibility, reinvention, delight, and the messy, ongoing work of becoming more yourself on purpose. Because being who you are isn’t something you do after you’ve made it, it’s what makes everything else possible.

    Show notes

This week's quickie is an answer to a listener question about how to move on from a not-great job situation that involves a friend, an investment of resources, and the knowing that staying isn't actually an option.

The question is: What are some ways of moving on without the guilt?

And my answer is: It may not be possible to completely dodge the guilt, buuuuut it is possible to find peace.

Ep. 296: Laura McKowen on Telling the Truth. Out loud. Feb 11, 2020
    Show notes

Laura McKowen is a writer, teacher, and retreat leader and her first book We are the Luckiest: The Surprising Magic of a Sober Life came out in January.

This week, we cover so many topics, including her book-writing process (she hits it Fleabag-style!), the painful necessity of going back to relive the hardest parts, what to do about loneliness, what happens when people around you don't get it, what to do with convenient lying, and how to start working towards having just one version of yourself.

This conversation, y'all. It's good and big and powerful. We talk about sobriety, but also about SO MUCH MORE. Enjoy, enjoy!

Ep. 292: Calming your Nervous System (OMGYES) with Jolene Park Jan 28, 2020
    Show notes

This week, I'm talking with Jolene Park about something that's SO IMPORTANT to us over-ambitious, wanna-do-it-all humans: how to calm down, reset, and nourish our nervous systems! It's time to get out of the frantic spin, y'all, and move towards peace, progress, and the lives we really want.

We also talk about gray-area drinking, how all kinds of numbing isn't serving us (but why we do it anyways), our animal instincts that drive us into fight, flight, or freeze, and how we can learn to sit still. It's good -- enjoy, enjoy!

    Ep. 290: What I've Learned So Far in 2020. Jan 21, 2020
    Show notes

Even though we're only a few weeks into the new year, I'm already learning A TON, so naturally I'm passing that learning along to you.

In this episode, you'll learn why I've amended my word for 2020 (core) into a phrase that points deeper towards how I want to *feel*, what my three-year sobriety anniversary showed me about myself, and why I think mid-game cortisone shots in the knee are a bad idea for football players (it's a metaphor, y'all. roll with me.)

2020 is shaping up to be full of revelations and I am STOKED. Enjoy the ones that have showed up so far!! (And thank you for being here!)

    Show notes

If you're interested in finding a guiding word for your year, have a listen. And if you've already chosen your word, the practice I outline here will help you take your word deeper and integrate it even more into your life.

And once you choose your word, let me know! I'd love to hear it!
