    Falcons take care of business vs. Jags Nov 29, 2021

    With the return of running back Cordarrelle Patterson to the offense, the Falcons jumped out to a 21-3 lead and held on for a 21-14 victory over Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at TIAA Bank Field. Defensively, linebacker MyKal Walker filled in for Deion Jones (shoulder injury) and led the team with 11 tackles. The Falcons improved to 5-6 on the season and stopped a two-game losing streak. The Falcons are set to host the defending World Champion Tampa Bay Bucs (9-3) on Sunday. The Bucs are early 10-point favorites.

    Falcons to face Cartersville's Trevor Lawrence Nov 24, 2021

    Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who starred at Cartersville High and Clemson, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 draft. The Jaguars (2-8) are set to host the Falcons (4-6) at 1 p.m. Sunday at TIAA Bank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. Jaguars coach Urban Meyer gives us an injury report and an update on how Lawrence is playing during his rookie season.

    Falcons' offense shutout by the Patriots Nov 19, 2021

    Without offensive weapons Cordarrelle Patterson and Calvin Ridley, the Falcons could muster only 165 yards of offense and wasted two potential scoring opportunities. The offensive line had a particularly poor showing as the Falcons rush for only 40 yards on 16 carries and they gave up four sacks and 12 quarterback hits. The Falcons were 2 of 11 on third downs which stopped them from sustaining any drives and led to four interceptions on their last four possessions.

    Mac Jones and the New England Patriots are hot Nov 17, 2021

    New England quarterback Mac Jones is completing nearly 69% of his passes and have led the Patriots to victories in five of their past six games. The Patriots also have a highly ranked defense which is led by its linebacking corps of Dont'a Hightower, Kyle Van Noy, Matt Judon and La'Whaun Bentley. Also, local players wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (Arabia Mountain High) and safety Kyle Dugger (Whitewater) are major contributors.

    Falcons take a beatdown in Dallas Nov 15, 2021

    The Falcons were defeated 43-3 by the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at AT&T Stadium. Quarterback Matt Ryan, just a week after being named the NFC's offensive player of the week, had the worst passer rating of his career. The Cowboys' defense, under the direction of former Falcons head coach Dan Quinn, shut down the passing attack with 10 pass breakups and three interceptions. The Falcons could move the ball and the shaky pass defense was exploited.

    Matty Ice saves the day for the Falcons Nov 08, 2021

    Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan led his 41st career game-winning drive and 33rd fourth-quarter comeback against the Saints on Sunday. After the defense kicked away an 18-point fourth-quarter lead, Ryan tossed a strike to wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson for a 64-yard gain to immediately get the Falcons into field goal range. Kicker Younghoe Koo made the 29-yard field goal for the 27-25 victory. The Falcons improved to 4-4 on the season.

    Saints going for NFC South 5-peat Nov 04, 2021

    The New Orleans Saints, who will host the Falcons on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome, are going for the fifth consecutive NFC South title. They are off to a 5-2 start and have won their last three games in a row. They are coming off a 36-27 upset victory over Tampa Bay, that was led by backup quarterback Trevor Siemian.

    Falcons shoved around by Panthers Nov 01, 2021

    The Carolina Panthers shoved the Falcons around Mercedes-Benz Stadium on their way to a 19-13 victory on Sunday. The Panthers ran the ball 47 times for 203 yards and dominated the time of possession. The Falcons had a chance to take the lead, but kicker Younghoe Koo missed a 45-yard attempt early in the fourth quarter. Also, quarterback Matt Ryan, playing without Calvin Ridley, had two interceptions and finished with a passer rating of 67.8.

    Panthers hitched their wagon to Darnold Oct 27, 2021

    The Carolina Panthers traded draft picks to the New York Jets for quarterback Sam Darnold. He was third player taken overall in the 2018 draft. He was benched in his seventh start with the Panthers, but will start against the Falcons on Sunday. Panthers coach Matt Rhule drops by to discuss if they are interested in trading for troubled Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson and how Darnold can improve.
