EPISODE 48: Freedom Convoy, Hospital stats and Good Questions Feb 21, 2022
    Show notes

Today we’re discussing a buffet of topics, rapid-fire style. We’re starting with the Freedom Convoy, moving onto hospital stats and then just asking some questions that should seriously be asked. https://www.instagram.com/ritarogersco/ https://www.instagram.com/cecily.dickey/

EPISODE 47: Do Justice. Correct Oppression. Feb 14, 2022
    Show notes

A frequent conversation in our circles over the past while has been regarding what our role is in the pursuit of justice. Justice, in simple terms, is putting things right. Clearly, as humans, we will never get it all right. But while we wait for the perfect justice that IS coming from our Lord, we can and should do our best to actively move against injustice that we see inflicted upon our fellow image-bearers. We discuss the role of Christians throughout history in the fight against injustice, and while times and situations change, God never does. His call to us is the same today as always: learn to do good; seek justice; correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless; plead the widow’s cause; love kindness, walk humbly with your God.

EPISODE 46: The Business of Awareness Feb 07, 2022
    Show notes

We live in a world that’s all about awareness. It seems we’re told that if only we could learn more about the plight of every person, disease, race, orientation, or catastrophe, the world would be a better place. But does knowledge alone fix anything? The goal for awareness should be to move people towards true action. But what does action beyond awareness look like? We also caution that when awareness is done really wrong, it simply leads to harm and division. This conversation is, ironically, about raising ”awareness” about the possible pitfalls of awareness done wrong. Our hope is to also lay some groundwork for going beyond just ”awareness” to true action about the things you are passionate about. https://www.instagram.com/ritarogersco/ https://www.instagram.com/cecily.dickey/ https://ssir.org/articles/entry/stop_raising_awareness_already

EPISODE 45: The Voices of Those Who Stood When Mandates Sought to Make Them Kneel Jan 31, 2022
    Show notes

Today we talk with 3 different people, who have 3 different stories of how their lives were affected by mandates in health care. Each story is unique as each person had a different outcome, however, the ”Why” behind their decision to stand is the same. The consequences of mandates have been covered before, however, this is such an important issue to continue to shine a light on. We hope that these stories of faith and courage are an encouragement to you. https://www.instagram.com/cecily.dickey/ https://www.instagram.com/ritarogersco/ https://www.instagram.com/nurses4informedconsent/ (LAUREN) https://www.instagram.com/garenteed/ (GAREN) https://www.instagram.com/ajhurley/ (AJ)

EPISODE 44: Awareness, Assessment, Application, Action. Jan 24, 2022
    Show notes

This is the first episode that Rita and Cecily sat down to record together in 2022. Because of that, we talk about why we started the podcast, and what our goals for the podcast are this year. Our goals have nothing to do with metrics, and everything to do with values, faithfulness, our approach to life and our prayer for our listeners. + Psalm 25 + James 1 + Psalm 1 https://www.instagram.com/cecily.dickey/ https://www.instagram.com/ritarogersco/

    EPISODE 43: Tommy John Jan 17, 2022
    Show notes

This Interview with Tommy John is a must-listen. There is so much to learn from his anything-but-mainstream way of thinking about the miraculous nature of the body and healing.

Tommy gives us the details on burning his degrees, insight into what he means by “you heal you”, a run through the “8 essentials” and just some really good thought provoking conversation.

EPISODE 42: Early Treatment: Prepared, Proactive Jan 10, 2022
    Show notes

A discussion of how my (Rita’s) family handled COVID. I run down what we did, but most importantly the thought process behind it. So many people want to know what they can do at home at onset of symptoms and the healthcare system is not obliging.

This episode is not medical advice. It is simply information, a story of personal decisions we made in our care, what we did and why. Each individual is responsible for the decisions they make and care they do or do not seek out.

    Plan ahead, be prepared.

EPISODE 41: The Greatest Story Dec 20, 2021
    Show notes

Today we‘re saying goodbye to 2021 with a simple episode. The foundation of our podcast is values and truth. Our values come from the truth, which comes from Jesus Christ. We go through the Christmas story and the gospel today. We marvel at the truth of what Christ has done for us, and the hope that He offers. No matter how dark the world may be, the light of Christ has already won. Thanks for being with us this year. We can‘t wait to come back in 2022!

EPISODE 40: The Reality of a Broken System Dec 13, 2021
    Show notes

In today‘s episode, we talk about the realities of what a broken healthcare system looks like, and the effect it has on the people that rely on it. We compare and contrast the experiences in the US and Canada, and discuss the spectrum of care, from home and community care to the ICU. We also touch on the fragility of humans, and how much of that can be traced back to the broken education system. We talk about the rising rates of depression, anxiety and suicide and the need for a better way. We wrap it up by talking about our role within our government systems, elections, and Yellowstone. Yes, the show Yellowstone.

EPISODE 39: Watch Out for the Dogs Dec 06, 2021
    Show notes

Do you ever have it where you and a friend start talking about one thing, and then before you know it you‘re talking about a whole bunch of things? That‘s what happened on today‘s recording. We went in with a clear mission and it evolved as the episode progressed. Today we discussed responsibility - namely the fact that what happens in our lives is ultimately our responsibility. Raising our kids is our responsibility as parents. Protecting them is our responsibility. Shaping them, training them, loving them... it‘s on us. We live in a time where more and more power is being given to institutions, governments and the ”experts” within those. In this episode, we‘re peeling it back to the roots. Our lives and our children are OUR responsibility. https://www.instagram.com/cecily.dickey/ https://www.instagram.com/ritarogersco/ https://www.instagram.com/thekaylahenry/ Philippians 3:2-3 Deuteronomy 6:4-9
