While The Trump Shutdown Contiunes, Trump Serves a Fast Food Buffet Jan 15, 2019
    Show notes

The shutdown is still going on, but Donald Trump welcomed the Clemson Tiger football team to the White House on Monday evening. He served them a large spread of McDonald's hamburgers, Burger King, Wendy's and Domino's Pizza. Not exactly health food for the student athletes.

SOME Republicans are finally seeing the light about Steve King. They see that he is a white supremacist and they're taking action. We've known this for YEARS. Why are they just now noticing?

We talk environmental issues with Maya van Rossum from the Delaware Riverkeepers, host of the Off-Kilter podcast Rebecca Vallas and Cate Martel from The Hill!

Is Donald Trump Actually A Double Agent For Russia? The FBI Seems To Think So Jan 14, 2019
    Show notes

BOMBSHELL stories from over the weekend that examine the relationship between Trump and Russia. First, the FBI was so concerned that Trump was a double agent for Russia that they opened up an investigation. Wow. PLUS, there is also a report that Trump hid the contents of his meetings with Putin. He even went so far as to have the interpreter destroy the notes from their meetings. He hid facts from his team. What could he be hiding????

We talk to Kevin Kruse and Julian Zelizar, who have a GREAT new book called Fault Lines. It examines the political tribalism in this country and how it all started going south in 1974.

We also discuss the Russia stories with Max Bergmann from The Moscow Project and Addy Baird from ThinkProgress!

We Are Not "Sending Our Best" to the Border. Trump Makes a Visit Down South. Jan 11, 2019
    Show notes

Donald Trump went to the US-Mexican border to to try and make another pitch for his stupid wall. He actually said that he NEVER SAID that Mexico would pay for the wall directly. The Washington Post has found over 200 instances of Trump saying Mexico would pay. He's a liar, but what else is new.

Also, Michael Cohen WILL testify publicly in front of Congress. What light could he shed on Trump's campaign finances?

We talk to Joe Perticone from Business Insider, Matt Gertz from Media Matters and Adele Stan from RightWingWatch.

A Trump Temper Tantrum is Keeping The Government Closed Jan 10, 2019
    Show notes

Donald Trump threw a temper tantrum while trying to find a compromise with Democratic leaders on Wednesday afternoon. According to Pelosi, Schumer and multiple other sources, Donald Trump demanded a wall and when Pelosi said no, he slammed the table and walked out. Is this how he thinks business gets done? People are seriously hurting out there and his temper tantrum is preventing almost a million people from getting their paychecks. Disgraceful.

We talk to Joanna Piacenza from Morning Consult, Jennifer Haberkorn from the LA Times and Rep John Yarmuth (D-KY)

An Oval Office Address That Said Nothing New Jan 09, 2019
    Show notes

Donald Trump addressed the nation from the Oval Office on Tuesday night and said nothing new. It was full of the usual lies that he usually spews. He continues to try and whip up hate against immigrants, but of course... He fundraised off of the speech after.

Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer gave a rebuttal that was also lackluster. Let's not forget: The government is still shut down and federal workers are not being paid. Disgraceful.

We talk to Rebekah Entralgo from ThinkProgress, Rep Dan Kildee (D-MI), and Adam Wollner from McClatchy!

Donald Trump Prepares to Lie to the Nation About the Border. And The Media is Going to Help Him Jan 08, 2019
    Show notes

Donald Trump has announced that Tuesday night, he will address the nation about the border "crisis." He's going to lie and the media has already said that they will carry it live. They're helping him spread propaganda. At the VERY least, they should give Schumer and Pelosi equal time to point out his lies. Will they do it? Don't count on it.

The shutdown continues and more Republicans are starting to feel the heat about it. Will they actually do something about it?

We talk to Jennifer Shutt from RollCall, Founder of Spread the Vote and Project ID Kat Calvin and President of the Ploughshares Fund Joe Cirincione.

The Shutdown Continues. Can Republicans Buck the President and Get It Back Open? Jan 07, 2019
    Show notes

A wild weekend as Donald Trump, once again, took credit for the shutdown. He also says that he may declare a national emergency to get the wall built. Set aside all the logistical problems for that solution. it's just not constitutional. Will Republicans work to make something happen and reopen the government? Don't leave it up to Mitch McConnell.

Guest host Igor Volsky talks to Senior Fellow at Center for American Progress, Scott Shuchart, White House Correspondent for Roll Call, John Bennett, and Reporter and co-author of POLITICO Influence, Marianne Levine.

Changes Are Coming With a New Congress Jan 04, 2019
    Show notes

The new Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, swore in a new class of Congress on Thursday. This means that BIG changes are coming. Donald Trump is about to learn how much harder it will be to cover up his crimes with people actually taking a critical look at him. Not only that, this Congress will be much more representative of the country than the usual white men that have helped cover up for Trump.

We talk to Communications Director at the Democratic National Committee, Xochitl Hinojosa, Hunter Walker from Yahoo News and actress/activist Piper Perabo!

The Shutdown Continues. While Dems Want to End It, Trump and the GOP Do Not. Jan 03, 2019
    Show notes

It's very clear at this point that Trump and the Republicans are totally fine with the government shutdown. Democrats have a plan to re-open the government, but Trump and McConnell have said that they aren't interested. What's it going to take for him to re-open the government? How will he continue to justify this?

Plus, Democrats are lining up to run against Trump in 2020. Who will be next?

We talk to Hanna Trudo from National Journal, Jason Dick from CQ Roll Call and Jordain Carney from The Hill!!

We're Back From Break! The Government Is Shut Down. How Long Could it Go? Jan 02, 2019
    Show notes

Before the holiday break, it looked like there may not be a government shutdown. Well, we're about a week and a half into a shutdown with no real end in sight. Can Democrats hold strong? Will Trump cave and let his base down? He's already let them down when he promised Mexico would pay for it, but will they care?

Plus, 2020 us heating up! Elizabeth Warren is IN. Who is next?

We talk to Abby Livingston from the Texas Tribune, Nikki Schwab from the NY Post and Amanda Becker from Thomson Reuters
