"All they recruit is wide receivers, how are you gonna run the daggum ball with so many receivers"? - Random Husker Fan Welp, now we better not lose anymore or you're gonna see Freedom lining up in the slot. That's the thing about wide receivers, they're a brittle bunch. Small bones, osteoporosis, etc, etc, etc... We started out with what seemed like 43 Wide receivers now we are down to 6 not counting Zack Darlington who might explode if he ever gets tackled again. We could really use Keyshawn Johnson Jr, Derrion Grimm, or dare I say it, Jamire Calvin right about now. On a happier note, Micah Parsons seems to remember us. So we definitely talk about that this episode. As well as Huskers in the NFL (we see you Burkhead), The rise of Tristan Gebbia and how we feel about the season as of right now. Has "Homer Tweedy" returned, will Pat be able to remember the high school's of all the new players, will Joe be able to remember anything (because he's a stoner)? You'll have to listen to find out! One month. Let me say that louder for the people in the back. ONE MONTH. Husker football is almost back, bay-bay. It's about to get real stressful up in here. Tweeday doesn't handle close games well and Pat cries when we lose. Well, to be fair, Pat cries A LOT. Pat cried last week because he "just felt like crying". With fall practice starting up again, we decided to have our good friend, Hoss reuter back on the show. You may know Hoss from his popular series on Corn Nation, "Decoding Langsdorf", where he breaks down various play schemes that you will see this year as the Huskers become undefeated National Champs. This episode is a little nerd heavy (Pat and Hoss) and less awesome, cool guy heavy (Ryan) but it's definitely worth the listen. We talk about screen plays, o-line depth, secondary depth, strength and conditioning and we touch on recruiting as well. Hip Hip Hooray! That's why everyone gets their news from The Big Red Cobcast and not "real" news sources with "actual integrity" and "a code of ethics that they have to follow". This week someone asked us on Twitter how we feel when companies use the #27 to advertise or they tweet about it or they have memorials that sometimes seem as a way to get fans into their stores. So, we obliged and tried to be honest but also sympathetic as we cover this topic. It's not an easy one to talk about sometimes. We also discussed all the things we're excited about now that Fall Camp is underway. Diaco's new defense, Tanner lee, Tyjon Lindsey and the ever impressive DICAPRIO BOOTLE! Cheating. It's such a taboo subject. No one ever wants to talk about whether or not the Huskers cheat. More importantly, we never discuss whether or not we should be cheating. With the ever changing college football landscape, should we cheat to keep up with the Jones' or in our case - the Urban's and the Harbaugh's? That what Pat and Tweedy argue about in this week's episode. We talk about that. We also talk about whether the wheel's are falling off of recruiting. With the loss of Blades, Watts, KJJ, Cam Brown - should we be worried? Do we have a shot with Fields and Parsons? Will Joshua Moore stick around? Will KJJ be back?
