Show notes

My microphone wasn't on for the first part of this episode (I PROMISE WE CHECK THESE THINGS, but computers / robots / user error / etc.), but thankfully Melanie's Official Look-at-the-Eclipse Break gave me time to correct the situation. In addition to the eclipse, we talk about college baseball, Kristen Wiig's skin, and the women's basketball championship game.
We also discuss an encouraging, hopeful doctor's visit that Melanie recently experienced, and it's Mel's turn for Five Favorites.
Hope you enjoy!

On top of that, I explain why we're tearing up my kitchen, and I share some very exciting oven news.
We also discuss some TV shows we're enjoying, we ponder the wonder of baby leaves, and it's Melanie's turn for Five Favorites.

Show Notes:
- Pepper Belly Pete's Mississippi Pot Roast

- Pioneer Woman's mashed potatoes (This is so similar to what Mama used to do. Mama also heated her butter and 1/2 and 1/2 together before adding them to the potatoes - plus she added a cup of sour cream and about 3/4 cup of cooked bacon pieces with the cream cheese. Mama always used Yukon gold (didn't bother with peeling them), and she topped the casserole with a little butter and shredded cheddar before putting in the oven at 375.)

Listen. My microphone. I'm just as sorry as I can be. Apparently I disconnected something before we recorded. So when you hear how I sound, just pretend I'm a DJ who's on from 6-10pm in the year of our Lord 1981.
In this episode Melanie shares about a change in her workout routine, we talk about our weekends (as we do every episode), and I celebrate what I believe we can call an eyeshadow victory. Melanie also has an exciting face massage update, and it's my turn for Five Favorites.
