Episode 721 | Why Are Folks Mad About Impeachment? | Interview with Isaac McCorkle Sep 25, 2019
    Show notes

Episode 721 | Some people are working overtime to find ways to be upset about the impeachment inquiry. Why? Let's unpack this ridiculousness.
I had the chance to interview Isaac McCorkle. He's running for Colorado's 4th district.
Finally, Republicans are going to try to present themselves as calm, rational, and reasonable. Not on my watch. Always remember how they've carried themselves over the past 20 years.

Episode 720 | Pelosi Announces Impeachment Inquiry Sep 24, 2019
    Show notes

Episode 720 | Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announces an impeachment inquiry into the crimes of President Donald J. Trump. Let's discuss the timing, the potential impact, the opposition, and the strategy.

Episode 719 | Greta Thunberg Shames Politicians Over Impending Climate Catastrophe | Poor & Frugal Sep 23, 2019
    Show notes

Greta Thunberg is the 16-year-old evinronmental activist who traversed the Atlantic Ocean to bring her message to America. In that time, this young woman has challenged the world and, arguably, changed the world. In here speech today she said that she refuses to believe that politicians understand the dilemma and still refuse to act because, if she believed that, then they would be evil. I've got bad news for this brilliant young woman.
Part 2 of today's show, a clip from Professor Rashawn Ray discussing the frugalness of poor black people. This goes against the standard tropes of Black poverty -- but that's intentional. Here's why.

Episode 718 | Biden Voters Have Their Matching Outfits READY for Primary Day | What is Pelosi Doing? Sep 20, 2019
    Show notes

Episode 718 | While we are engaged in an "extremely online" battle over the WFP poll, the reaction to that endorsement, the reaction to that reaction and -- I AM NOT EVEN JOKING -- the reaction to the reaction to the reaction to the WFP endorsement, older Biden voters have their outfits ready for Primary Day. They have an advantage that we -- no matter Warren or Sanders -- have to overcome.
And WHAT is Nancy Pelosi doing? I thought about this, and I only have one possibility left that she could be implementing to rid our nation of Donald Trump. "Timing." Timing of impeachment is almost as important as deciding to impeach the president or not. It may be a stretch -- but I think it is the only route she has left to NOT going down as the biggest threat to our Democracy second only to Trump.

Episode 717 | Primary Bitterness: Exacerbating the Divide Between Sanders and Warren Sep 19, 2019
    Show notes

Episode 717 | CHILL OUT EVERYBODY! Warren and Sanders is the team we need and we need to talk about all of the different voices trying to exacerbate the divide between those two. Let's discuss the four categories of people who would benefit from this division.

Episode 716 | Warren and Sanders OR Sanders and Warren | Black Media is CRITICAL Sep 17, 2019
    Show notes

Episode 716 | Warren and Sanders OR Sanders and Warren? Let's discuss. I firmly believe these two candidates need each other not only to win but also to govern in favor of progressivism. Because of that, it's critical that we do not throw so much "salt" into the conversation that it becomes impossible for these two to unite in the general election. We can disagree on which candidate should be at the top of the ticket. In fact, I argue both sides. Argue back. Tell me what you think.
Finally, Black media is going to be critical to 2020. I make the case showing you how much conservatives have begun investing in Black media ahead of 2020. Let's discuss.

Episode 715 | Trump "Locked and Loaded" for War with Iran | Bret Kavanugh and How Powerful Men Get Away Sep 16, 2019
    Show notes

Episode 715 | America Considers War with Iran over Houthi Attack in Saudi Arabia. One Democratic Senator, Chris Coons, already laid out the map for Trump to take. Notwithstanding we absolutely must get an Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF), let's discuss why it is that we have NO moral obligation or legal justification to go to war on behalf of Saudi Arabia.
Second on the show: Bret Kavanaugh. More allegations have surfaced, and now Democratic leaders are considering impeaching the Supreme Court justice. But let's discuss powerful men and how it has been the case through history that they are able to get away with abuse because we don't believe women.

Episode 714 | Progressive Foreign Policy Questions | Democratic Debate Tonight Sep 12, 2019
    Show notes

Episode 714 | Progressive Foreign Policy Questions.
We need to be able to offer a coherent and complete Progressive foreign policy that goes beyond analyses that end at "end America empire." While we all absolutely agree that American intervention and imperialists pursuits across the globe have been catastrophic--- if we take America completely out of the equation, there are still questions that we must answer to form a coherent progressive foreign policy.
Tonight is the Democratic debate! Initially, I wanted Warren and Sanders to not touch each other. However, Warren released her health care plan and it includes private insurers. This is not Medicare for All and I think tonight we need to be able to show the nation why this distinction matters.

Episode 713 | Tucker Carlson Claims Bolton was Progressive | Interview with Activist Cori Bush Sep 11, 2019
    Show notes

Episode 713 | Tucker Carlson of Fox News claims John Bolton was progressive. The level of lies and propaganda has gotten to an unimaginable level when one of the most devout conservatives in American history can be tossed away as a progressive for the convenience of the weekly news cycle and for the benefit of their Dear Leader, Donald Trump. But this is our new reality.
Also, I had the chance to speak with activist and community organizer, Cori Bush. She is a candidate for Missouri’s 1st Congressional District. We discussed her background, her politics, her activism and how her faith informs all of that.

Episode 712 | Trump Fires John Bolton | Interview With Brooke Thomas of TYT Sep 10, 2019
    Show notes

Episode 712 | John Bolton is OUT! And the world is safer because of it. The irony of the situation is that Trump fired him for fiercely opposing Trump's secret meeting with the Taliban. And as I always say, when two monsters fight, we should sit back and enjoy the show.
I had the chance to interview Brooke Thomas of The Young Turks Network. We spoke about being Black in media -- particularly in progressive media. The full interview is available on Patreon.com/TheBpdShow.
Tomorrow we speak with Cori Bush -- activist, organizer, and candidate for MO-01 congressional seat.
