Brent Cobb follows in the footsteps of his country music heroes with his new gospel album, And Now, Let’s Turn to Page…. By offering eight familiar hymns alongside an original song written with his wife, the collection feels reverent as well as rowdy—and completely in his comfort zone. Brent cites a near-death experience as the push he needed to finally make And Now, Let’s Turn to Page…. In July 2020, the vehicle he was driving, with his young son inside, got T-boned at a rural four-way stop. That crash made him think about everything that led up to that moment – the fact that he didn’t have his daughter with him because his mother offered to watch her, or that he took a different way to his parents’ house that day, or that he had to turn around and get something he’d forgotten in the house before heading out. “You just start piecing together how everything is sort of intentional,” he says. “And again, I’d always had it in the back of my mind to make a gospel album. That moment of clarity, of almost getting killed, made me think I should just make the gospel album now.” Produced by Dave Cobb in RCA Studio A in Nashville, And Now, Let’s Turn to Page… continues a tradition established by legends such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Willie Nelson, and Elvis Presley, who could invoke their spiritual side without losing sight of their musical foundation. “I’ve always wanted to make a southern gospel album because it’s what I come from, but also it used to seem like a rite of passage for country singers to make a gospel album,” Brent says. “It all comes from gospel music. That’s where country music came from. I’m just trying to carry that torch.” Because Dave and Brent are cousins, there’s an inherent family feeling that runs throughout these nine songs. In a literal sense, with Brent’s parents and sister joining him in the studio for the first time on this heartfelt project.

Brit Taylor - The Barn Mar 23, 2023
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

NASHVILLE (February 13, 2023) - With the highly successful release of her sophomore album Kentucky Blue, singer-songwriter Brit Taylor is fulfilling a life-long dream to perform on the coveted and iconic Grand Ole Opry. Taylor, the eastern Kentucky native, who cut her teeth as a child on the Kentucky Opry, will step into the circle where all country music royalty has stood on March 22, 2023.
“The day Kentucky Blue was released was magical to me,” Taylor said. “But to get the email that very same morning inviting me to perform at the Grand Ole Opry was surreal. It is something I have dreamed about my whole life, and all I could do when I got the invitation was cry happy tears. I am so honored to step into that circle, to stand there where so many of my heroes and those who have inspired me and influenced me have stood, and share my music with the world.”

    Watch Taylor's reaction here.
Kentucky Blue, produced by Grammy winners Sturgill Simpson and David Ferguson, was released February 3 to critical acclaim, landing in the Top 15 on iTunes Country Album chart and garnering support from Apple, Spotify, Tidal and Amazon including the feature cover of Spotify’s The Pulse of Americana playlist.
The album has been received with open arms from fans and media alike. Praises for the sonic sound and lyrical genesis for the record abounds.
“But at its heart, Kentucky Blue is a true blue (no pun intended) country album – and a damn good one at that.” Whiskey Riff
“Let me direct your attention to Kentucky singer-songwriter Brit Taylor. She’s the best Neo-traditionalist to come along in ages.” Music Row
“Songs as equally fun and fiery as they are honest and reflective.” American Songwriter
"Kentucky Blue reminds us that being rich … has more to do with staying true to one’s values above all else – a crucial life lesson in an industry flooded with people all too eager to fulfill the expectations of others.” Holler
Kentucky Blue’s ten original songs explore the depth and breadth of Taylor’s captivating songwriting and arresting alto. She is known for her ability to share life experience and emotions in a way that relates to others. “Kentucky Blue acutely captures the humanness of life experiences in a way that we can all identify and commiserate with because it’s real” stated Saving Country Music. American Songwriter found Taylor’s real-life experiences “because she went through the wringer in order to live these songs” reflected in the “relatable, empathetic experience in Kentucky Blue … offers fans a background for laughter and a hand to hold through the tears with songs that are both light-hearted and heartfelt.”

In addition to her Grand Ole Opry appearance, Taylor announced she will be touring with Brent Cobb in March and April. She opened her Kentucky Blue Tour Feb 4 with a sold-out show in Nashville and she is continuing to support Blackberry Smoke’s tour.
The power of Taylor’s music, who still finds her heart in writing songs for herself and others, has always been that it is refreshingly simple yet surprisingly complex, empathetic yet empowering. Always remaining true to herself, she continues to tells stories which manage – whether they are dramatic, humorous or heartfelt – to be as authentic as she is.
ownright honest. It is who she is.

Vulgar Display of Podcast - Gorod Mar 22, 2023
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Bordeaux, France-based technical death metal goliaths GOROD releases their long-awaited seventh album, The Orb, on March 7th.

The follow-up to the band’s critically lauded Æthra full-length stands as their most accomplished work of their twenty-six year career. With The Orb, the quintet delivers both a synthesis of their previous efforts and opens to new, more accessible horizons. Far from being an average classic tech death act, GOROD continually diversifies its inspirations. With a unique groove mingled with melodies and rich harmonies inspired by ‘70s jazz, funk, and rock, their progressive and sophisticated approach to their sound has always given them a unique identity. The Orb furthers that trajectory.

Comments the band, “The overall composition of this album stretched out more in time than Æthra, which allowed us to try new things. We wanted to go both a little further in new experiments but also return back to our own sources in order to highlight the contrasts. From the most spontaneous to the most polished, we've put together the most accessible and extreme material we could.”

The Orb was produced at David Thiers at Secret Place Studio and will be released on CD, LP, and digitally. Find preorders at THIS LOCATION.

GOROD’s art is fully expressed on stage thanks to their explosive energy and mind bogglingly tight live performances. GOROD will return to he US for a month-long headlining run.

August Burns Red - Vulgar Display of Podcast Mar 13, 2023
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Grammy-nominated Lancaster five-piece AUGUST BURNS RED — JB Brubaker [lead guitar], Brent Rambler [rhythm guitar], Matt Greiner [drums], Jake Luhrs [vocals], and Dustin Davidson [bass] — have announced their new album Death Below. It arrives on March 24 via SharpTone Records.
"It's no secret that the past few years have been extremely dark and challenging," Brubaker says. "Death Below is here as a result of that time in each our lives and the emotions that came with it. We were motivated by uncertainty, fear, outrage, and triumph. I feel this is the darkest, most personal album we've ever written, and I couldnt be more proud of what the five of us made together."
Today, they have shared the video for the first single "Ancestry," featuring Killswitch Engage singer Jesse Leach.
"'Ancestry' is a complex and technical ABR track held together by perhaps the most painful and personal lyrics Jake has ever written," says Brubaker. "I loved this song in every phase since its inception. From the instrumental rendition, to the lyrics and vocals being added, to finally bringing it all together with Jesse's anthemic guest vocals, 'Ancestry' is a song we've been looking forward to sharing with the world for a long time."
The album features additional guest spots from guitarist Jason Richardson, as well as JT Cavey of ERRA and Spencer Chamberlain of Underoath.
