Someone Call Me a Lüber w/ Zach Selwyn Oct 12, 2018
    Show notes

It’s been over a month since our last episode and Baker was in the editing bay crafting what could possibly be our best episode yet! This week we’re off the rails with writer/comedian/country singer/freestyle rapper and co-host of the popular podcast Missi & Zach Might Bang! Zach Selwyn (www.zachselwyn.com). Zach is a national treasure and we hope you enjoy this insane conversation. There are FIVE original songs (some improvised), countless tangents, and a few parenting tidbits. Have fun!

Short Order Cook Fantasies Come True Sep 12, 2018
    Show notes

Ahhhhhhhhh…. This episode is like a giant, contented exhale. The kids are back to school which means The Dads are finally free to get together and have a mid-morning rap. We recap the latest camping adventure, answer some listener emails and comments, preview next week’s episode (very exciting!), and follow up on our last show which saw Baker in a bit of an existential crisis (spoiler: he’s a little better now). Come on in, let’s rap!

Adam and Baker Blackstone Griddle Face Off Sep 07, 2018
    Show notes

For Labor Day, we organized a big group from school to spend the long weekend “Glamping” at El Capitan Canyon. In short, it was a blast. We drank, we ate, we sang, we ate s’mores, we swam in the ocean. A perfect end to Summer!

Baker and I also hauled our Blackstone griddles up there giving us 72″ combined inches of grilling goodness. Everything from pancakes to eggs to bacon to tacos were prepared on the Blackstones.

On the final night, we served up tacos from the griddle including chicken, veggies, and Baker’s homemade carnitas (recipe forthcoming). It was a blast!

One of our friends took a video of our important warmup routine. Enjoy!

Four Existential Truths w/ Nick Stauth Aug 28, 2018
    Show notes

On this episode, we sit down with Nick Stauth a psychotherapist who specializes in kids and family. So, of course, we took advantage of some free shrink time! Adam feels he’s half-assing both work and family obligations. Baker is at the end of his rope as a Stay at Home Dad, feeling empty and unfulfilled. What does this mean for The At Home Dad Show???!! Plus, the Four Existential Truths, keeping your kids alive in the woods, and the right way to deal with bullies. Boy, we’re all over the map!

Oh Ya, It’s The Tequila Talkin’ w/ Kent Rees Jun 26, 2018
    Show notes

The hysterical Kent Rees, fellow Minnesota homie, brings a bottle to the session resulting in the first episode done under the influence of tequila. This high octane show veers off on strange and fascinating tangents including, but not limited to: Prince’s ashes, Minnesota nice, child barfers, “Operation Don’t Raise A Douchebag”, Organ Trail, TV marketing, Fathers Day, messing up Mother’s Day, existentialist cats and is supper elite?

Allowance Regimes w/ Chris Nowak Jun 12, 2018
    Show notes

One episode wasn’t enough to bring you all Chris Nowak had to offer. In the second half of our conversation, we discuss the best ways to give kids money (and to take it back from them); Chris makes a really, really good argument for letting your kids play football; and Adam and Chris relive the glory of their 50-person ribeye grilling triumph. If you missed Part I, be sure to go back and check it out!

Here’s the article that Chris references in the football discussion: http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2014/10/what-liberals-get-wrong-about-football.html

Little Drunk Jockey Arms w/ Chris Nowak Jun 06, 2018
    Show notes

Baker and Adam sit down with Chris Nowak, a fellow dad and Executive Producer on Nickelodeon’s Henry Danger. Chris’ pendulum of fatherhood swings from 70hr/week workaholic when the show is shooting to full-time stay at home dad and husband during his hiatus. In Part 1 of this epic chat we explore the mystery of getting kids in and out of the car, the Oedipus Complex, and find out who got kicked out of the family by their own child. All this and Little Drunk Jockey Arms!
